Moose’s Barbershop and Shave

Been coming here for the past 6 months after being a regular at crown barber shop in Coronado. Started off randomly being selected by Eddie for a haircut. I have been a regular to Eddie ever since. I make my appointments via text or call and he’s ready every time on time. Even on the random occasions that I just walk in he treats it as a appointment with the most professionalism someone can ask for. He’s the best barber I’ve dealt with in San Diego (being in the military) I would recommend anyone to this barber shop and I would definitely recommend Eddie to anyone looking for a cut. I look forward to getting a hair cut every time knowing that Eddie will give me the best cut I could ask for. Highly recommend Eddie at moose barber shop in Santee.

I have been to nice salons, found a supercuts stylist who for the last several years did a good job. I dont have a complicated cut, standard 3 around the sides and finger length on top. I hate getting cuts, the small talk etc.
Going to Moose’s is a great experience. This was my first time in a barbershop and now I know why they are popular. Andre did a great job, extreme attention to detail. All of the barbers had a great attitude and look like they enjoy there job. Greatest comment i heard, i like my job because i make guys look good. Overall process took a while, but i didn’t mind it.
BTW — If you like the atmosphere at sports clips, you need to try this place.

Just terrible. The customer service here is horrific. I walked in with my boyfriend and he signed his name on the sheet. We sat and waited for over 40 minutes while people that had been walking in after us were being taken care of.
The man at the front desk told one of the barbers that my boyfriend was his next client and then that man crossed my boyfriend’s name off of the list. That so called barber (after knowing we were his waiting clients) decided to leave for his lunch without ever even speaking to us. So, we decided to wait, and figured the barber would soon be back or that someone else would surely take us. Well, nope. Not one person acknowledged us while we sat there.
We got up and left because we were sick of wasting our time. That is when we noticed that our name had already been crossed off and the assigned barber was just returning from his lunch. How nice.
Similar to another reviewers bad experience here, we went up the road to Raymond’s barber shop and had a much more pleasant and personal experience.
The interior of Moose’s barber shop looks really clean and nicely decorated, I’ll give it that. That’s all we got to enjoy, after all, while staring at it for 40 minutes.

Came in to Moose with my long winter fro and got a nice fade from Eddie when I left. This will be my spot to go when I’m in town on leave. They also give a military discount.

Had my sons haircut here. Very nice and clean and even though it seems to be an adult barber shop they had a little play area for the kids with iPads. I will go back again. My sons haircut was decent.

Went in to get my beard trimmed. Sal did a great job. Older gentlemen but very nice man

Horrible! Worst customer service ever! Walked up at 530p and asked if they could do my 9 year old real quick! and the owner does the cut throat sign from the back! (Meaning no). What an asshole! There were even «barbers» (fake ass wanna be’s). Sitting around not doing anything! I have lived in Santee for over 20 years. And as a local would never recommend any business like this to any other locals here! DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT! Left that place and went down the street to a hidden jem here in Santee! Raymond’s Barber Shop. WOW! Class act! Smooth clean modern haircuts. Ended up getting my haircut, my son and my brothers done. They hooked it up! They did so well we tipped super heavy! I love these guys! The true epitome of a real barbershop! And they are open till 830p. Get some!

Great spot for a nice cut, it is kid friendly and a nice clean place! Adrien will give you a nice fade.

So yesterday was my bday and my wife surprised me with a cut and shave before we went out. Im very impressed with this place and the barber Adrian is awesome i will come back

WE WILL NOT BE BACK! This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a barber shop. I walked in with my friend and immediately saw there was a bit of a wait, but we placed both of our names down anyways with the time and our phone numbers. We saw about 4 other people pass us and then some who were clearly there after us and had been waiting for no longer then 10 minutes. Finally after 1 HOUR OF WAITING, I said that we had been waiting for so long and if we were next. He told me that someone who had placed their name on the list at 12:30 was before me because his name was on top of the paper. Even though ours said 11:52. He said he would call us when it was our turn. I grabbed my friend and we left. WE WILL NOT BE BACK! I used your suavecito hair gel and loved your haircuts, but you need to run your store with much more awareness. There are plenty of other places to get a haircut!

Love coming here. A little pricey, but every barber I’ve had so far has taken their time and done the job right (Dominic, Eddie, Clayton). Gotten the shave twice and had great experiences both times. Not the greatest hair washing experience (compared to sports clips).
If you’re a person who doesn’t care too much about your cut, there are plenty of cheaper, faster options. Moose’s is a man spa — a relaxing way to end a stressful week. Price is worth the experience, in my opinion.

My 5 year old was so afraid of getting his haircut from many bad experiences at other places, but Christina took her time and made him so comfortable, finally a good experience! I was so very impressed! Thank you so much.

I don’t know how this place has a high rating. Must be a mix of friends and family and a couple fortunate customers. I’ve been 3 times and the cuts just declined in quality with each visit. Adrian was my first stylist and by far did a great job compared to the next 2 visiits. Although my preferred barber is doing some remodeling I would recommend Supercuts over Moose’s and rate Fantastic Sam’s as an equal. I don’t recall her name but she has long wavy black hair, she did my last cut and is mainly the reason I won’t be returning. If you don’t know your number she’s not smart enough to give you a good cut. After my last cut I noticed a visable line separating the hair on top of my head and the sides. After showering I realized she didn’t even trim the hair on top, just the sides and back. She claimed to be their best hot shave person so maybe she’s talented with a straight edge, I’ll never know.
Beware men, this is not your neighborhood men’s barber. This is a salon with Simi — Barber prices which means your really getting low paid stylists. Visually they have jumped on the barber bandwagon but don’t let that fool you.
I gave them 2 stars rather than 1 because my son has gotten several cuts and they came out good.
I am sure there is talent here but if you walk in and go with the next — available employee you gonna get what you pay for a cheap salon cut.

I’ve been coming to Moose’s for a few months now. I always get an amazing haircut and shave from Amanda @yourclassybarbett, she is really good and has great attention to detail. I get perfect looking haircuts and smooth shaves. I definitely recommend to make an appointment since this barbershop it’s always busy.

Brought my husband here as a surprise for his birthday. Decided to go all out and get him a haircut and hot shave. We had Eddie as our barber and he did a fantastic job. He took his time and didn’t rush thru the service. My husband was pleased with his hair and shave. Looks like we will have to make this is new regular barber instead of just a special Occassion type place lol.

Phancy and Adrian are my go to people whenever I come around. Place is clean, explicit language free, and play area for the young ones.
Tip of advice, heed my warning AVOID Diego even if it means waiting longer. My first experience with him he nicked me rather more like cut me, please see exhibit one (in photos). I gave Diego a second shot because Phancy (my main barber wasn’t there, I was feeling generous, and I needed a haircut that night). During my second experience, I showed Diego a photo of what I wanted. During the haircut, I felt that Diego was trying to wing it. He was all over the place, it felt like he knew he was making mistakes and trying to fix it only to make it worse. Instead of Diego admitting that he did not have the skills to provide the requested service I instead ended up literally sitting for TWO HOURS in the chair while he was trying to figure out what he was doing. When I informed him that I wasn’t satisfied with the end result, he VERY RUDLEY told me «That’s it, Im done with you» and continued to argue about how I was wrong about a specific hair cut, WHEN I SHOWED HIM A PICTURE BEFORE HE EVEN STARTED ON MY HAIR. He decided to act inappropriately and bash me in front of his coworkers and other clients. He even stormed out of the shop and returned to continue arguing about what I had asked for.
Thankfully Adrian had offered to fix what diego had left me with, very glad people/​barbers like him are around.
I would put 5 stars, but I’m taking one off due to Diego and his poor customer service.

This place is horrible. I don’t even know how they stay in business. I have been 2 times. First time hack job I decided to give them a second chance, Dominic cut my hair and the fade in the back wasn’t even straight he shaved my face with no shaving cream made my face get a rash. Are these barbers even trained? My girlfriend shaved my head as soon as I got home might as well flushed 20 bucks down the toilet. If your looking for a good barber head over to La Mesa, Dapper Jays see Nat best barber in town.

Treated my boyfriend to some man grooming at Moose’s today. He received a great haircut and an amazing straight razor shave from Nolan. No offense to my boyfriend, but he went in a bit on the scruffy side. But after that cut and shave, he looked great! Even a few years younger! Nolan was very detailed and pulled out all the stops with the shave… hot towels which the boyfriend loved. We will definitely be back!

This is 100 percent my new haircut spot. Sorry sportclips… moose’s is legit. This place has a great vibe to it with both the décor and friendly staff. Prices are great too.
I went today and had Susan as my barber. I couldn’t be more pleased. She was professional and really nice. She is also a great stylist and knows her craft well.
I also met the owner. He was also very nice and down to earth. This place really captures the feel of a neighborhood barber shop. There’s even a great play area for your kids.
I didn’t try the straight shave so I can’t speak to that. But the ambiance, friendly and skilled staff, reasonable pricing and hot towels will keep me coming back.
P. S. On a Wednesday afternoon at 2pm they had plenty of barbers and I waited about 5 minutes. Unlike SOME other places…
