I just had your people come to my door…
Cult, scriptural context misinterpreted. In order for existence of a ‘god-​mother’, there would have been no need for Mary’s participation in the story of Christ. There would need to be 2 thrones referred to in scripture, since there’s a dual identity separated by a sexuality. Sexuality defines your chromosome makeup, therefore God and this ‘mother-​god’ would need to have had similar makeup. Your women who come to ‘inform’ us of our wrong knowledge of scripture, are not equipped to discuss your doctrine or theology due to the fact that I spent 20 min’s questioning the very existence of a ‘god-​mother’ when they just referred to Revelations 22:17 which states…

17 The Spirit and the bride say, «Come!» And let the one who hears say, «Come!» Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
The only One who brings the Water of Life, is Jesus the Messiah. I pray your faith and congregation return to the true scriptures and understanding of our Savior Jesus Christ. Your church is what is turning others away from the faith and taking people of faith and condemning them to wrong doctrine and in turn, a perverse sense of what scriptures teach.

My daughter got mixed up in this cult about 2 years ago. They believe in a mortal woman who lives in Korea as «Mother God». They also believe that the second coming of Christ has already taken place by a man who passed away. Jesus died and then rose on the third day never to die again and will return in the exact same way he departed! They completely cherry pick, twist, and misinterpret bible verses to suit their believes. They are absolutely a cult and have completely alienated our daughter from us, her family. We just don’t know how to get through to her and we desperately want her out of this mind-​controlling cult! I wish I had the option to choose zero stars!

My freind got mixed up in this church. She is so confused now… all the other reviews are right. This is a cult. Stay away. They call her if she’s not there Saturday and tell her she cannot be blessed unless she’s there and tithing to them. They say this «mother» in Korea is only way to be saved. Completely twisted and manipulative. I’ve been telling her for more than a year to run from them. But she said they were «nice». She said they shun members who don’t comply with their demands. I said «let them»! They practice mind control like many cults and use guilt and manipulation to keep their members.
I just don’t understand how people can be so gullible. Their teachings are so contrary to Christ’s teachings.

Two members came to our door and were so friendly we decided to listen to what they had to say. What they showed us in just ten minutes made us want to know more. My family didn’t have a home church at the time and decided to do our first bible study with them. They were so friendly and kind it made us want to come back. At first we were skeptical because everything they taught us was so new to us but here we are two months later going to bible study every week. I agree with the other reviewer anyone who doesn’t like this church has NOT been there. They provide a bible for you if you don’t have your own and they feed you before bible study and will even watch your children for you so you can focus. My daughter loves the members that play with her and they are so patient and kind with the children. It truly is a great church and the atmosphere is like home. It’s always clean and there’s a small playground for the children. The members are so diverse and they all are so dedicated. If you are looking to learn more about the bible this is a great place to come learn.

This is a good bible based place. Every question has been answered through the bible (which is important.) This church lets you see things the way they are by using historical facts to back it up. There has been times that they do admit they don’t have all the answers, and that I totally respect. I was going to mark this a 3 but after time passed and some careful consideration I gave it a 5. I saw a few videos and awards of the community service they have done in San Diego and that’s pretty awesome.

This is a cult!
They prey on people who are vulnerable; people who are lonely, lost, lacking parental guidance or a sense of belonging. Unfortunately my brother was in this phase of his life after graduating from college when they approached and started brainwashing him.
Here are the changes that I started noticing in my brother once he started attending this cult:
1. He all of the sudden stopped celebrating Christman, New Years, Thanksgiving, Easter, and all major holidays, saying that these holidays were wrong
2. Even though we grew up together as Christians, he no longer valued our Christian beliefs
3. He refuses to eat food if we pray on it/​bless it before we eat. He says our prayer is sinful and therefore his new religion doesn’t allow him to eat food which has been blessed under a different religion (ridiculous, right? lol)
4. He was very ambitious and wanted to go to law school after college. But since he started attending this cult, they persuaded him not to go to law school. After joining the cult he started saying things like he wanted to devote his life to preparing his soul for the after life. (this is typical of cults; they try to prevent victims from seeking higher education or engaging in any enlightening activities… it’s obvious why… knowledge opens minds and eyes, and the cults don’t want their victims to become smart and find out that they are being deceived!)
5. My brother stopped attending family events including graduations and birthdays… especially if they were on Saturdays. He says he is not allowed to miss Saturdays at all, even if it is a family emergency. He doesn’t spend time with family any more; he’s always with the cult and comes home very late at night. We now have to make our schedule around his schedule if we want him to attend a family event.
6. He moved into a group living home that the cult arranged, in order to help the cult leaders pay their mortgage (the cult persuades its members not to pursue higher education, better paying jobs, or anything that signifies success such as buying a house — but the cult leaders themselves engage in these activities — they use the cult members to help pay their mortgages for them through group living arrangements).
7. My brother was never the type of person to go knocking on peoples doors, but now he goes door to door trying to recruit new victims into the cult (this is why he no longer have time for family).
8. The cult found my brother a girlfriend after he asked them, and he married her within just 2 months of dating. Perhaps this was the cult’s way of winning my brother for life? lol
If these behavioral changes inflicted upon my brother doesn’t sound like a cult to you, then I don’t know what else will. Right now I’m just trying everything I can to try and get my brother back. But the thing about cult victims is that the more you try to get them to see the truth, the more they feel like you are judging them and continue to distance themselves. So it has to be done very tactfully without coming off as being judgmental.
By the way, when my brother first joined, they funded his trip to South Korea to go see and worship this lady that they call the mother god. It’s literally a lady that’s sitting on a throne and people are bowing down and praying to her! So ridiculous! When you first try to attend their cult, they don’t allow you to go inside the building beyond a certain point until they are convinced that they have brain washed you first and that you believe their religion.
Right now I’m trying to get the FBI to launch an investigation into this manipulative group, because it is like a ponzi scheme since they require the victims to give them money too.

So I went there based on a recommendation from a Co worker. The people where friendly, but however it felt like I was in a cult. The girls and guys were segregated like it’s 1825 or something and they wore the veils which is ok because that is in scripture. This guy told me that the second coming has already happened and the word ‘rapture ’ was not in the bible. Just extremely traditional and I did not feel comfortable. I would not recommend a new Christian believer here.

Never has the Bible been so clear! If you truly want to study prophecies and parables and know the deep mysteries of God then come to the Church of God. From the beginning you will see happy people who set good examples walking the path of Christ. The volunteer work of the Church of God has received many awards world wide including the order of merit from the Korean Government as well as the Call to Service award from Barak Obama. The efforts even reached the U.N. Becoming official members with their department of partnerships. Church of God is shinning the light bright so people can come to Christ. Their teachings are straight from the Bible and nothing taught from man. Best way I can describe the Church of God is «the purest form of Christianity you can possibly find» come experience it for yourselves.

I spent years in this organization, so here’s the truth. All that «kindness» and the «sweet people» mentioned in some other reviews here is what’s called «love bombing». Look it up. I actually participated in it before I pulled my head up out of the sand. The studies ARE neat… As are many other parallels in world history/​the bible. Here is what they don’t outright tell you. They teach A Korean man named Ahnsahnhong is the second coming Christ. All Pastors are Korean, as they are the only ones competent to lead a church. There is a female image of God named Zahn Gil Jah, and she is still alive in Korea. She is equal to God. They send people to go see her in mass a couple times a year. They require the «tithe» from you or there is no way into heaven. They will drain the rest of your money for other «offerings» as you will see if you dare visit this destructive controlling organization. For you own good, stay as far away as you can!!!

I to had my doubts about his church but after going… I love this church and to anyone who has something negative to say about it it’s because they haven’t tried it out. These people are super sweet and I love the bible study classes it allowed me to have a better understanding of God. They really break it down to you to help you understand the bible a lot clearly rather then just going by what people say. It’s sad when people try and compare this church to a cult when it’s actually far from a cult lol. Fun fact: when Jesus was on earth those who didn’t believe in him also said he was a leader of a cult along with his followers little did they know he was here to bring salvation. Most of us now know he wasn’t in a cult. I feel the same about this church when people don’t understand they are so quick to say the same things said once about Jesus. Give it a try you may love it like I do…

Came to my door literally as I was on my way to bible study, insisted that I acknowledge god as a mother and a woman. More I listened the more I got a huge cult vibe… especially since they really didn’t want me going to bible study…

It’s always a red flag when someone comes to your door wishing to talk about God, and when you tell them you already go to a church, they start with «but»…Christians aren’t going to evangelize to other Christians, only cults do.
