Bluseed Studios offers a 2,000 ft2 art gallery which also serves as a performance space for local, national and international artists and musicians; a ceramic studio; two printmaking studios including nontoxic intaglio, relief and silkscreen printing, letterpress and book arts; a frame shop; seasonal papermaking studio and a drawing studio/classroom. In addition, BluSeed includes office space, living space for artists-in-residence and a full kitchen.
History
Established in 2001.
Bluseed is housed in a renovated 7,000 ft2 railroad warehouse that was built in the 1930s. Incorporated in March 2001, Bluseed opened its doors in May 2003. A volunteer Board of Directors was established in 2006, and 501©3 nonprofit status was granted in 2007, retroactive to 2001.
