Green Zebra Cafe

Fresh food and great service. I was in town for a week and ate a nice breakfest at the Green Zebra everyday. Fresh fruit and juices to accompany pancakes to get me started. I loved it!

Finding vegan food isn’t easy, and finding delicious vegan food is even harder, this place caught my eye, and I couldn’t be happier with the amazing service from the staff and the many options there were for people who lead a vegan diet or lifestyle, my mother who doesn’t even like vegan food thought this place was amazing too, I am so happy I stopped in, ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend :)

Had the grilled chicken with pesto sandwich tonight and it was delicious. The workers are so friendly. Definitely a place to eat if you are looking for delicious, healthy food! Can’t wait to go back for breakfast, lunch and smoothies!

Gong on vacation is always hard finding great tasting vegan options. So glad to have found this place!

Love this place! I have lived in Sarasota 2 years and have never wanted to deal with the crowds at St Armand’s, but I just visited this gem twice in one week! The gluten free bread (optional) is delicious and the veggies, spreads, etc are all fresh and flavorful. I wish the meals came with a side of some sort like fruit or dehydrated chips but I realize raw organic food is costly.

We come to this place often. We love the fresh ingredients, the ability to order raw and delicious food, as well as non raw options, great breakfast wraps, smoothies, and all the salads, definitely come here !! If you’re searching for delicious and food that’s good for you, definitely try this!

Delish food & smoothies. All fresh and made to order. Don’t come in a hurry, waited half hour for a smoothie. The #15 cookies and cream is awesome — almost worth the wait.

Love, love, love! Visit Sarasota every year and could not have been happier to see Green Zebra. I read the Unilocal reviews and then I couldn’t wait to try it and I was not disappointed. We stopped in for lunch and everyone enjoyed their meal (was a couple weeks ago so can’t remember what everyone ate!).
The item that put me over the top was the Cookies and Cream smoothie. The best! I am not vegan but eat «clean» so no dairy. I haven’t had a good smoothie or milk shake in 3 years and this was so delicious! Every time I had the chance I stopped by for a cookies and cream smoothie, I did. Last day we went in for breakfast and I decided to try the pancakes. As I was waiting, I was sure that I had made a mistake and was going to hate it but I was pleasantly surprised– they were delicious! Even my picky eating, grain-​pancake loving little boy enjoyed them.
Only caveat– just be patient. It’s not chipotle, so you’ll have to wait for your awesomely healthy meal or smoothie. But I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. And, if you’re in a hurry, you can call and order your smoothie in advance!

Food is great but giving three stars due to poor service. Took 30 minutes to prepare two smoothies. For me, I go to a takeout breakfast place bc I want something quickly.

The only problem I have with the Green Zebra is that we discovered this restaurant on our last day in Siesta Key. I think this is the best restaurant I’ve been to in years.
My family of four had the most delicious meal there. I had the lasagna, my husband a wrap, my son the Baja Burrito and my daughter a smoothie and the Spaghetti. We loved our meals so much that we ordered two more Baja Burrito’s to take home for dinner.
An added bonus was that my celiac family could eat here safely! My daughter and I are vegan celiacs and find it really difficult to find restaurants to eat in. At the Green Zebra we were spoiled for choice.

This place is really great! We ordered off of their raw menu and got the burrito and thai wrap and will definitely be back to try everything else.

Incredible raw vegan food — easily the best restaurant I’ve been to in 2015, vegetarian or not. I had the lasagne and it was absolutely amazing. I liked it way better than any regular lasagne I’ve had! The tomatoes were so flavorful, they must source them from somewhere special. The sauce on it was phenomenal. Let me say it again: phenomenal! The flavor profile was nuanced, fresh and delightful. It put regular lasagne to shame.
What’s more, I ordered to go and they let me know they stuck some toothpicks in there to keep it from shifting around during transport. Pride in the work and attention to detail! I’m honestly a little depressed that I don’t live anywhere near this place or I’d be a repeat customer. I’m so glad I ate here!
For dessert I got a chia seed pudding. Also five stars! I am a chia seed fan. I try to use it at home but it’s never tasted as wonderful as they made it here! It was better than regular rice pudding — the spices/​flavor used had a lovely, thoughtful depth that reminded me of my grandma’s puddings as a kid.
All this from a vegetarian foodie who lives in Seattle and has traveled to many vegetarian havens (Portland. San Francisco, etc)

I accidentally ran into this place! I’m so glad I did, there’s a lot to choose from and the staff here is friendly. I went with the grilled chicken pesto, it was so delicious! Chicken is perfectly grilled. The overall environment was perfect as well!

Found them by accident. Had an incredible veggie wrap! Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast smoothie. Can’t wait to go back. Healthy and tasty. Best new find in the area.

This place is amazing! I have Celiac so I looked up a place where I’d be able to eat more than just salad and this place nailed it. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. It was so good that we all went back the next morning for the same thing. The ‘pancakes’ are a healthy mix of bananas, flax seed and a few other ingredients that make you raise your eyebrow, but together-​deliciousness. There’s a strawberry purée on top and bananas and a wonderful light cream sauce sandwiched between the two pancakes.
Equally awesome were the wraps. That’s right, gluten free wraps!!! Seasoned so well and what went inside was just as tasty! Turkey, avocado, provolone, sun dried tomato pesto. I’m still dreaming of it.

This place ROCKS, I was not a huge fan of the sandwiches but the food is super fresh and the smoothies are amazing. Plenty of additional options are available for drinks/​smoothie add ons. They carry Mother Kombucha, which is always awesome, and are super friendly.

Went in and got dinner on Friday night. Vegan lasagna, zucchini spaghetti marinara, chia seed pudding, banana chocolate pudding and we came back next day for breakfast! Food was amazing. Owner was friendly and engaging. They have non vegan food but you dont have to be vegetarian to enjoy the veg dishes. Deeply satisfying without feeling stuffed. Better than veg food I’ve had in most major urban centers.

I have had the pleasure of sampling numerous smoothies, sandwiches, and other yummy dishes, and they have all blown me away. Delicious, fresh, pure, thoughtful, and restorative.
There are so many options. Do you want something sweet? There are tons of cakes, puddings, and sweet juices. Do you want something hearty and savory? Lasagna, acai bowls, wraps, salads, take your pick.
This café is an excellent addition to St. Armand’s Circle.
