Being a cutomer at Salon 41 for years, I’ve gotten to know the staff very well and consider some of them friends. The salon and sister convenience store, Palm Ave Express, are both very clean and organized, and willing to accomodate your every need. But I must address an incident that occured during the«chill lounge» event that I attended, that the convenience store stayed open late for. I’m not one to stir up problems, but I am someone who will stand for what I believe is right. «Chris F.» AKA Michellle(who works at a neighboring salon), came into the store on chill lounge night, and I am a witness to this, and had the audacity to plop herself on top the front glass counter where the clerk rings up customers, and then was surprised when one of the owners, Neil, told her sternly to get off his counter top, that it was not a place to sit on. She got down and looked at him like she had the right to do whatever she pleased inside of another persons business. Its just plain rude and I do not blame him for asking her and her friends to leave the store. I would have done the same if I were in the same situation. This person then goes on social media and not only bad mouths the salon and store, but goes as far to make comments on the owners’ sexual orientation, which has aboslutely nothing to do with what happened. My point is, there will always be people who will try to discredit you because of your success. Salon 41 has been on Palm Ave for 20 years, with about 20 Stylists and a loyal clientele. Don’t knock it till you have experienced it for yourself.

The atmosphere created by Neal one of the owners is horrible. The gossip and drama created by this owner talking about previous customers is horrible. If you want your dirty laundered or exposed to everyone I wouldn’t open your mouth or don’t go there. The other gay owner(partner) is a good guy and very professional

As a tourist in desperate need of a pedicure, and not knowing Sarasota at all, I took a gamble by walking into Salon Forty-One, as it looked like an attractive and classy place. I looked at the price for a pedicure and thought it was a bit pricey, but since I was on holiday, I thought I’d treat myself. What a lucky gamble — I had the best pedicure of my life! Cynthia Acosta greeted me warmly and proceeded to give me the full, luxury pedicure treatment, including everything from exfoliation and massage to hot towels, cuticle care, nail shaping and perfectly-applied polish. The whole process took a bit over an hour and was a wonderfully relaxing experience — and my feet looked 10 years younger than I do! If you want to pamper yourself, go see Cynthia; it’s well worth it.
