I had a consultation when my chiro referred me to hard. E for my daughters braces. He may be competent but I was disturbed by his attitude. He kept going over his resume and that his children are all from Ivy leagues and how great he is. After that he kept saying things like you got this procedure done in ‘your country’ many times in s condescending way which made me us feel very uncomfortable. Even his assistant kept showing him eyes to control his aggressive tone. So we decided that this doc is not for us.

My wife and I took our son to Dr. Ellenikiotis for braces. We were referred to him by our primary dentist, but he warned us about his «arrogance.» We went in with an open mind.
We found Dr. Ellenikiotis to be very arrogant and condescending. We were shocked when he showed us photos of other children he had worked on and referred to their before pictures as looking like «monsters.» He then mentioned to us in front of our son (age 13) that he would probably need a chin implant due to his recessed chin.
We left his office in disbelief. Even due to comments and arrogance, we considered Dr. Ellenikiotis to put braces on our son.
There were questions we still had after our first consultation. My wife took my son back in for a follow up visit. Dr. Ellenikiotis was very perturbed that my wife was questioning him on things he had already discussed. His anger and aggressiveness put my wife in tears in front of our son. The doctor’s receptionist was very nice and my wife could sense she was sympathetic.
We never went back. I think Dr. Ellenikiotis is probably very good at his job, but his comments and arrogance are unacceptable. There are other great orthodontist in this area that have a great demeanor and it didn’t take long for us to find one.

I have been in treatment with Dr. Ellenikiotis for the past 4 years. I underwent a treatment that included spacers, expanders, extraction and altogether too many rubber bands. The end result when I was (finally) finished was absolutely beautiful. Dr. E was incredibly meticulous when it came to fixing my teeth and it definitely paid off well.
Both the Saratoga and Willow Glen offices were very accommodating in setting up my appointments (I moved to the LA area but come up to the Bay Area regularly) and I was always able to come in for any emergency either the day I called in or early the next morning.
The girls that work the front desk are extremely welcoming and pleasant, as well as all of the assistants that work in the offices. They all greet me like an old friend each time I come in for a checkup on my retainers and during my time in treatment they all worked extremely efficiently and made even the most painful of treatment days as easy as possible.
I cannot overstate how pleased I am with the results of my treatment, I recommend this office highly.

I have had braces in the past, but because of the lack of perfectionism from my other orthodontist I am now forced to get them again. I wasn’t about to sacrifice more time and money to have the job done wrong again, so I did my research and found the BEST! Some people might think that being a perfectionist isn’t a good thing, but when it comes to the doctor that’s straightening my teeth, I’d want him or her to have those qualities. His office is so nice & clean, and the staff are warm and friendly. I can see he runs a tight ship, and only expects the best customer service from his team. I didn’t know what I was missing the first time around, until I came to this office. I love the service, convenient locations (live in San Jose, work in Cupertino), but most of all the friendly and knowledgeable staff. No doubts in my mind that when my 2 year old is of age, this is where he will be coming. I have no intentions of taking my son to someone who isn’t going to do the job right the first time. Thank You Dr. E!!! Can’t wait to see the final results!

I needed orthodontic work for functional reasons, not cosmetic ones — my top and bottom teeth were so poorly aligned that two of my front teeth were already badly damaged by the time my dentist recommended that I see an orthodontist. Since my dentist didn’t have very good credibility by that point, I asked friends and co-​workers for recommendations and got a strong one for Dr. E. from a fellow engineer at work who had also had a severe functional problem.
I’m very happy with the work that Dr. E did. My functional problem is completely fixed and the appearance of my teeth is fantastic. Given the fairly dramatic movement of teeth that was needed for my case, the outcome was even better than I’d hoped for.
Dr. E. is a perfectionist, which I consider to be a good thing in an orthodontist. For example, I was tempted at one point to take a shortcut in some follow-​on dental work. He clearly thought this was a mistake and convinced me to get it done right. I’m glad that he did. But it doesn’t surprise me that at least one other reviewer has pointed out that he can be a bit hard on patients who don’t follow instructions and undermine the outcome of the orthodontic work. He really does want to see a good outcome.
Other reviewers have commented that most of the hands-​on orthodontic work is done by Dr. E’s staff. This is true, but on most visits the work is very routine (e.g. tightening braces) and it is perfectly reasonable to have well trained staff do it. I always felt that the work was closely supervised by Dr. E.; whenever something usual or questionable came up, the staff would have Dr. E come over to decide what to do, and Dr. E. would inspect the work afterward and revise the treatment plan if needed. When I had questions about the work, Dr. E always took the time to answer them. (And, since I’m an engineer, I sometimes had detailed questions).
I was very impressed with Dr. E.‘s staff. They are very competent, and they also seemed to take pride in their work and enjoy their work environment. Everyone including the receptionists was enthusiastic and helpful. They are really nice people and it was a pleasure to interact with them.
The only issue I can think of with Dr. E. is that his two-​office arrangement is a bit unusual. Because my work schedule is complicated, I ended up having some appointments at his San Jose office and some at his Saratoga office. This worked fine for me, and I only went to the wrong office once in two years. Most patients can probably see him at only one office, but if you’re like me then you’ll need to be careful about keeping track of which office your appointment is at.

So following up from my last review…
I sat down and talked extensively with Dr E about the ortho treatments my son and I had, and we openly discussed my concerns. He really listened and seemed genuinely apologetic for the way things came out for us.
He agreed that my results weren’t what I expected, and is working to correct the problem… and then some. It kind of cracked me up talking to him… he starts looking at my teeth and says basically if he could do it again, he’d want to tweak all kinds of other little things to make them truly perfect. And he wants to fix it… ALL of it. While I’m not thrilled to be doing braces for the 3rd time in my life (sigh), we’re giving it another go. I appreciate that he is willing to make it right for me. I’m hoping at the end we’ll all be happy with the outcome.
A few other things worth noting: the other ortho appears to be gone. He does have at least one other ortho working with him… so far seems good. I’ve also noticed Dr E seems much different in the way he interacts with his patients. He seems softer and lighter than in years past. It’s a good thing.

Dr. Ellenikiotis is one of the BEST orthodontist I’ve ever met. His work is meticulous, cares tremendously on the quality of his work. He is concern about your well being as a patient; always going out of his way to ensure you understand the treatment that is being provided.
He’s a big man in stature but is a real softie inside. I’ve known Dr. E. (as he’s known to his patients) for over 10 YEARS and he’s always been so kind and thoughtful.
I HIGHLY recommend Dr. E. if you’re looking for an orthodontist who his experienced, knows what he is doing and one who truly cares !!!

This is the 4th time I Unilocaled Dr. E. The first was the initial frustrated Unilocal.Immediately I was contacted by Dr E and all problems were solved. From there I «Yelped» Dr E 4 times with 5 stars. It still hasn’t stayed on his page more than 24 hours. So here I go again…
Dr. E is phenominal in his work. If you want a perfect smile and the very best of the very best, go to him. He is the #1 person in Northern California in his field. Why would you bother with anything less? The Silicon Valley is the home of the smartest and most accomplished people in the world. Our professionals are also. Go to Dr. E.
Personally, my daughters adore Dr. E, love his staff, and are cool about going to his office. One of my twins wouldn’t let anyone touch her mouth without nitrous oxide (laughing gas). Her comfort level is 100%. She also thinks he is handsome, which doesn’t hurt. As a mom, I totally trust his skill and advice.

I had braces with Dr Ellenikiotis as a teenager. It was not something i was excited about. But Dr E and his staff made it a fun experience for me. My teeth look incredible. I tell all of my friends to go see him and my smile is all they need to be convinced.

I recently recommended Dr. E to a friend looking for an outstanding orthodontist and I felt the need to write an online review. I had a great experience throughout my braces treatment with Dr. Ellenikiotis. He and his staff are very friendly and welcoming, and I was extremely at ease under his care knowing he was perfecting my teeth and smile. It has been a few years since I got my braces off and my teeth are as straight as ever. Having seen other friends’ teeth a few years after getting their braces off, I am extremely happy Dr. E cares about long term effectiveness. When it comes to investing in your smile, I certainly recommend going with Dr. Ellenikiotis.

I have 3 kids who are patients of Dr. E and I honestly think the reviews below have been overly harsh. What I have experienced is that Dr. E is very passionate about what he does. I can imagine that if you don’t take his instructions seriously, or are lazy about taking responsibility for your side of treatment, he would get very extremely frustrated.
Having said that, he has always taken the time to answer my questions regarding my kids bites and what is needed to be done to prevent TMJ (their father suffers from this). I got referalls from three knowledgeable health practioners before seeing Dr. and they all said he is the top in his field.
Wendy, Dr E’s billing guru is amazing — so nice because backoffice is so often a pain in the neck. I“ve also found his front desk to be extremely helpful and patient when trying to coordinate 3 kids schedules.

I’v been going to Dr. E for three years. It wouldn’t have been so long had I listen to what Dr. E and Dr. Low, said about wearing my rubber bands. I give it to them both, they had a lot of patients with me; nevertheless my teeth look great. Their assistants are like Doctors.
There’re very knowable in what they do. My fiancé Tiffany demanded that I just go and meet with Dr. E that was one of the best things that I have done. I want to say thx to Carlos, kimmy, Lisa B, the Ladies in the front office, Dr. E, and Dr. Low, a very nice person. See you soon:-D

At first I was excited to start going here because it seemed like a lot of people i knew were and it’s right by my house and they seemed very efficient like the other reviewers had said. after meeting with Ellenikiotis once i realized that he was an fake-​tanned bleached teeth old man who wears too much cologne. Despite my feelings about him personally i decided to still go there-​WRONG CHOICE. Most of the people that work there seem inexperienced and poke you in the mouth a lot while working on you (I’ve bled numerous times). They also send the patients back to a separate waiting room where they sit for usually 30 minutes to an hour before they are seen (this is with an appointment) but if your 10 minutes late they’re furious. Aside from the horrible service Ellenikiotis is constantly walking around in the back complaining about other patients. In short DO NOT GO THERE i was stuck there for almost 3 years because i had my braces on and it was horrible. Save yourself while you still have a chance!!!

I have to say that I was disappointed with Dr. Ellenikiotis after two appointments with him. To his credit, he runs a very efficient outfit. One can liken his practice to an assembly line. Once you are in the assembly line, things seem to move very smoothly. Our challenge was that we were referred to him for some early consultation. Each time we saw him, he and his staff seem to forget that these are early consultations. At our first consultation, his staff give us a lengthy presentation and told us what to expect. I had to stop her to tell her that’s not what we’re expecting — we’re only here for a consultation. Same thing happened on the second consultation.

Not good. My son goes here. It is a meat market. He gives a great, but huge ego sell job, but all of the work is done by what seems to me kids either who are technicans or just out of school. My son sees him hardly ever.
No follow up with the parents. He’s an ego maniac. He might do somewhat good work, but at a cost. I’m having another child get treatment at a different place and it is $ 2000 cheaper and much better reviewed!
