Matthew and Christina (thus the MC!), have 9 beautiful kids. Matthew has been installing and servicing garage doors for 2 decades. This experience and extensive garage door knowledge has been passed down to our son, Matt Jr. who himself has been servicing garage doors for 4 years and counting. Christina keeps our books, manages advertising, and sometimes answers our phones. Our family shares a passion for this business and each one of us are involved in its operation. We base our business values on our personal morals of trust, honesty and integrity. Garage doors are our passion and we make every effort to ensure that your garage door will be aesthetically pleasing, mechanically operational and most of all SAFE.

He installed the greatest door I’ve ever seen/​used. Can hardly hear it in operation and the control panel on the garage wall allows us to activate the unit’s light independently of activating the garage door opener. Fast, dependable and great price.

The cable broke on our garage door which caused the entire door to fall off the tracks. This happened late one Sunday evening and we could not lift the door manually to get the cars out. This was somewhat urgent due to the need for transportation to school and work the next early morning. We called around to several other repair shops that stated online they were either open 24 hours or open Sunday evening. The first several repair companies we called answered the phone but said they were not working that evening. After what seemed like a frustrating process we finally reached MC Garage Doors and Matt answered the phone right away saying he was currently attending a church function, but requested we send our address over to him via text message and he would coordinate getting out to us later that evening. Well he did arrive timely and was very helpful. Also knew just what the issues were the minute he looked over the garage door, had all the parts and worked until after 11pm at night to get the door up and running. He even replaced some parts and fixed portions of the door that were also ready to break down, which also made the door less noisy. Since it was late and we were all tired I did not have a great attitude and for this I apologize to Matt. My husband and I would recommend his repair services to everyone. MC Garage reminds me of the way it used to be… offering real service with people that care.

My garage door broke and I called a few company but no one answered. I called MC Garage Doors and Mathew the owner answer it right away, he said he can come by the same day even until late at night. He arrival on time and he fixed my door within 1 hour and very fast and clean. His price is very reasonable and I highly recommend him for your garage repair.

I called MC to fix a busted spring for us one evening around 6pm. Matt answered the phone and scheduled a time to come by later that night. He quoted me a price that was within the range I was expecting based on research I had done prior to calling. Matt came even sooner than he had scheduled. He was polite and friendly while working quickly. He replaced both springs and suggested we replace a few other worn parts of our system. He wasn’t pushy and showed my husband exactly how the parts had worn down. Our system was at least 10 years old (possibly much older) and had given us grief the past few winters. We were happy to give our garage door a tune up– it is now much smoother and quieter than ever before. Great, fast work right when we needed it for a fair price. I’d highly recommend MC if you’re in need of garage door repairs.

This review is long overdo. Matt and his son are a wonderful team! We have a rental property in Santa Cruz with small garage doors. Had a door with a broken cable that they were able to do temporary repair on. When the door failed completely they came out in the evening, secured the door and were able to put a new door in a few days later, even with the odd size. Happy tenant, happy landlord!
Matthew answers the phone, keeps track of the job and made the whole process easy and stress free. I can not recommend MC Garage Door enough! Great owner, great local business, great all around experience!

I was having a problem with my garage door and had left messages for several companies that had not called back during the Thanksgiving Day weekend. On Saturday I decided to call a couple more. When I called MC Garage doors Matt answered the phone himself. He was driving so he had me text my info to his phone and said he would come out that afternoon.
He came out when he said he would, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed within an hour.
He was a pleasure to deal with. He is knowledgeable, professional and efficient.
I would certainly recommend him and, if I have a problem with my garage door again, would not hesitate to call Matt.

Our door was badly misaligned due to the winding cable having come off the cable drum. We have a standard hinged 16×7 metal garage door (Clopay 150S) on our town home. In a rush to get our son to his Saturday soccer game, I closed the door by disconnecting the winding cable on the other side. This allowed the door to close, but unfortunately left it jammed in the down position with one corner clearly off the track and seized inwards. I called MC Garage Doors at 9:15 AM, and the owner, Matthew, said he could be there in 2 hours. When we returned from soccer at 11AM, he and his right hand daughter, Natalie, were already at our house waiting outside the garage.
Realignment of the door required re-​engaging the motor to lift the top ¾ so that the bottom bottom ¼ section could be adjusted. This sounds simple, but was about 60 min of tinkering with the motor arm, moving rollers, removing hinges, banging hinge pins back in place, and hammering the warped track true. In the process, the worn manufacturer rollers were replaced with nylon rollers with bearings. Garage operation is much quieter now.
The cables and drums on both sides were inspected, finding no faults. The cables were rewound onto the drums. The recently installed springs (SPB-218−24−75) were diagnosed as too strong for the door. A new pair of springs (207−26−¾) were installed and the garage door was tested for balance, alignment, and fit both alone and in concert with the motor and sensors. Matthew also reshaped some of the warped garage door metal to get the door to close more smoothly. Repair was completed by 1PM.
There are a lot of folks to choose from for garage door repair. MC Garage is operated by a competent, professional, and courteous owner who is local to the area. As someone familiar with the construction trade, you hold onto the cards of honest contractors.
This is a card worth keeping.

One of my springs broke late on a Thursday. Called and Matt showed up that night at 9:30 PM fixed the door in half an hour and was on his way. Quoted price and did the work for the quoted price. By far the best home service I have received. If you have a garage door problem, these are they guys to call.

I had a power outage on Saturday. He came out on a Sunday night with his family to help me with a Liftmaster Jackshaft unit which seemed to stop working. It turned out that the power outage fried my wall controller and also may have damaged some internal parts on the motor.
He suggested that I contact the company that installed it because it may still be under warranty. He did manage to get it working part way because I manually unlocked it to get car out and the gears didn’t re-​engage to close. At the end he didn’t even charged me for his time and gas coming out to my house because he said he didn’t really fixed anything. But he did get it part way working, but I really appreciate is work ethics. Extremely honest person!

Sunday night my garage door wouldn’t open. Stress! Turned out to be a broken spring. Most places wouldn’t open until Monday and I didn’t have time at all in the week to meet a repair guy. Thank goodness for 24 hr repair service from MC Garage! I called, Matt answered himself and told me he’d be over in an hour. I was impressed with the prompt customer service. I’m happy to support small family businesses like this because they really understand true customer service and they value your time and patronage.
Matt and one of his sons replaced the springs and advised me to replace the worn out rollers which I did. Garage is as good as new and I’m a happy camper. Highly recommend.

One of my garage door springs broke down on a Sunday. I was able to get my car out and so spent the evening researching different garage door repair services. I’ll be honest in that this one didn’t show up in my findings. However, one of my neighbors recommended MC Garage and said he’d called him out a couple of times for different services and had been very happy with them. Now that I knew the name, I was able to find them on Unilocal.I was a bit skeptical at first given some of the reviews regarding price, but I thought I’d try them out anyway given the personal reference.
I called on Monday morning expecting to get an appointment later on in the week, which was fine as I wasn’t in any hurry. Matt answered the call and said he could come that same day between 1 – 3 if I could text him the address (he was on the road).
Got home around 12:30 figuring I’d spend the rest of the day working from home. Matt and his son showed up at 12:45 and took a look at the door and recommended replacing both springs (which is the norm from what I’ve heard). He also inspected the garage door and recommended replacing the rollers and the pulleys. I wasn’t planning on this much work, but he showed me where the rollers were almost coming off the shafts and how the sides of the pulleys were all frayed. I figured might as well get it all done at once. He quoted me a price that was very competitive and reasonable.
They got to work and were done by 2pm. They spent time making sure the door was well adjusted and the spacing and everything was fine. He then showed me the work and opened and closed the door a couple of times.
The biggest surprise was how quiet it was. I had become use to all the racket that it had made before and couldn’t believe how quiet it had become. I jokingly complained to Matt that it was too quiet now and I wouldn’t be able to hear my kids anymore when they sneak in late at night.
Anyway, to wrap it up, was very happy with all aspects of the service (timeliness, price, quality). Their work came with a warranty, which not all places I called had. They’re a family business, but maybe because of that, they did a very professional and quality job. I can see now why my neighbor recommended them.

My garage door was stuck in the open position and could not get it to close. This was a real problem as it was getting late and didnt want to leave it open so anyone could come in. Just wanted to add to my previous review, this is long overdue. When Matt replaced the spring on our garage door, he told us that the garage door has never been cleaned, which makes sense, since that is not something I think of, and the house is over 20 years old. Matt and his helper (sorry i forgot his name), came by a couple of days after he fixed our garage door and cleaned our garage, inside and out. It was a new service that they are offering, and we took them up on the offer. They did an excellent job,
On a side note, our garage door is so clean and quiet now that when i work in one of the rooms above the garage, i can barely hear the garage door opening… so awesome.

My garage door broke a couple of days after the Christmas holiday. I called a number of garage door servicing companies but no one would come out. I called MC Doors and Matt answered immediately. He was on vacation with his family at the time, but he still offered to drive back from Yosemite to do the job!
I told him it could wait until he was back in town the next day. He showed up exactly when he said he would, along with one of his sons. They both were super nice and incredibly professional.
The door is an old super heavy wooden door with a sketchy set up. Matt said it was one of the most dangerous jobs he has worked on. Regardless of that, Matt’s commitment to excellence in service and craftsmanship was apparent when he kept pushing through new complications and wouldn’t leave the job until everything was perfect and tested.
I couldn’t recommend Matt and MC Garage Doors more! I won’t be calling anyone else.

My garage door broke again a couple of weeks ago. The spring broke. I immediately called MC Garage to see if they could come out to fix it even though it was a couple of days before Christmas. I spoke with Matthew Sr., the Dad. He was away on a trip but was able to find Matthew Jr. to come out and fix the door. Matthew came out the following day, Christmas Eve, and was able to fix the door. Calls were returned immediately and both father and son were extremely customer service oriented and friendly. Don’t let Matthew Jr.‘s age fool you. He’s knowledgeable and mature. As for the garage door itself, I’m sure I could’ve called around to find the lowest and best price. But I think you get so much more with this family business. You can see their pride in their craft. I highly recommend them for their quality workmanship.
