Start with the positive: The theater is nice and the seats are comfortable. The negatives: 1. The sound system is awful and the orchestra is overbearingly loud. 2. The play very very amateurish, the female singers with one exception(the secretary) shrieked so badly that we could not understand them. We’ve seen much better high school productions. 3. The play should be a comedy, like the movie was, but it was simply bad. Don’t waste your money and time!

I come here to watch WVLO productions. The productions are enjoyable, and you can tell the people up there are having fun. The theatre itself is well kept, and with adequate space back stage and in the house. Only bummer is the no-fly system… but the techs there are so creative, they figure a way around it… the even built a full size BI-PLANE in one production… with tap dancing flight attendants! There is usually enough parking in the lot or on adjacent streets. Just be careful of the buses bringing the blue hair types to enjoy their Saturday Matinée! Always fun!

I’ve seen three shows here. All three were well produced and entertaining. My one gripe with SCT is the bathroom situation. I know it’s a relatively small venue but there simply isn’t enough bathrooms so accommodate everyone. Unless you get in line at the start of intermission, you’ll be late getting back in. 3.5 stars.

Recently came to Saratoga Civic Center for the 1st time to see a friend acting in — THEBELLSARERINGING… a comedy about an answering messaging service girl who’s taken a personal interest in helping out the lives of her customers & her sneaky ways to help them realize their dreams Very small venue but I’ve been to smaller — views were partially obstructed by the row in front but could duck around; sound was really quiet to the point there were times we couldn’t hear the actors & they were all wearing microphones — pump up the volume please! Seats were comfy but it got really hot in the venue since you’re sitting almost shoulder to shoulder to your neighbor. Be sure to wear layers so you can peel off as necessary Staff was really nice & refreshments were ONLY $ 1!!! This is the best deal you’ll find ANYWHERE! Props for not gouging your patrons!!! Would certainly come back to this venue to see other local Theater & combined w/the FREEPARKING, have to say this venue was A-OK!

I visited the Saratoga Civic Theater for the first time this weekend, to see WVLO’s production of «The Drowsy Chaperone.» This is honestly one of the smallest theaters I’ve ever been to; most junior highs will have a larger auditorium.(Albeit, most junior high auditoriums will be much more run-down, thanks to our decreasing public school budgets and increasing punk kids). Appropriately, the stage and lighting were all very well done at the Saratoga Civic Theater; so, despite the«cozy» setting, it didn’t feel like a low-rent production — maybe«exclusive» would be a better description! Parking was free and plentiful! They had a table set up in the lobby selling refreshments before the show, but food and drink was not allowed inside the actual theater. The show was great, and most of the cast came to mingle in the lobby after the show.

Just a gem of a theater in Saratoga. It’s a small theater but they have surprisingly good sound and have obviously invested in some good lighting and equipment. And for a community theater I was very impressed with their stage production. First class. For the production I attended(Cats) they also had an orchestra in front of the stage. Call the theater for show information and expect to spend about $ 30 for a ticket, less for children and seniors. I believe they perform about 3 plays(musicals) each season. I had a lot of fun so I’m giving it 5 stars — support local theater!
