Leighton’s Water Treatment is a family owned and operated business. It was started in 1984 by Orman & Elaine Leighton. A few months after opening its doors, Orman pased away. His Son Bruce Leighton stepped in to take over the new venture and is still the president and ceo today. Bruce Leighton states, «Our business has experienced growth every year that we’ve been in business. The furure is very bright for Leighton’s Water Treatment». Bruce Leighton graduated from Saugerties High School in 1970. He graduated from SUNY Ulster with an Associate Degree in Business in 1972. He transferred to SUNY Plattsburgh where he completed his studies receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Economics in 1974. Today Bruce is a member of The Better Business Bureau, the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce, the Water Quality Association, the Eastern Water Quality Association and the Northeast Bottled Water Association.
