Angela’s Jewelry Repair

This is one of the jewelry repair and sales kiosks in the Square One Mall.
I originally came here to have my everyday watched repaired. The bar in the back of it that clicks when you close the watch snapped off and needed to be repaired. Even though it’s a cheap watch, it’s the one I wear pretty regularly. The very nice woman who was at the counter said to come back in 15 minutes. I did, and the watch was done. Right away I noticed the repair job look pretty crappy. The new bar she installed was bigger than the original and over sized a bit so it was sticking out about a centimeter. She did point this out to me, and because I considered the issue to be minor, I didn’t complain. However, I noticed the repair looked pretty shaky, too. I took my watch, paid, and left. Before I left the mall (under 5 minutes). the «repair» broke just from being on my wrist and I was back to square one (no pun intended). I was pissed and assumed this woman had no clue what she was doing.
I came back two days later with the watch and this time there was a man there. I explained and showed him what had happened. He seemed 100% confident that he could fix the watch (and that it would stay repaired for longer than 4 minutes this time). I was confident in him enough that I also handed him another watch of mine. a nice Fossil watch that my girlfriend gave me as a gift. I just needed it adjusted, not repaired. He said no problem on doing that either. so I handed over both watches now. Same time estimate given. 15 mins.
This time, my everyday watch was repaired so well, it looked like it did before it broke. It was very sturdy, the new bar was the right size, and after about three weeks now. I have confidence that this second repair will stick. My Fossil was resized perfectly. no issue there either. He did a great job.
I would come back to Angela’s for a repair in the future only if I saw that particular gentleman working again. He did an excellent job on both of my watches. The woman who tried the first time. not such a great job.
