Very very clean, and a super large store. It’s much cleaner than the store on Medford.

Great deals, sure. Customer service? They’ve never heard of it. Just spent 25 minutes waiting for a single person working at the customer desk to have an error they made corrected.
If you advertise an item as one price, charge four times as much when I waited at the checkout line for 15 minutes, why do I have to wait in line for an additional 25 minutes so you can correct your mistake? Next time I will pay full price and save the time and aggravation.
And, not for nothing, but your employees were rude start to finish. If I’m such an inconvenience, I won’t bother being a customer.

I love Ocean State ! Great deals on everything from clothes to specialty food items, to pet supplies, to kitchen utensils! I would always look at prices here first before going anywhere else!

This place gets a five star review because they give discounts to veterans.
If you’re looking for inexpensive household items, whether it be carpets, to dishes, to lawn equipment or even clothing, this place is great. It’s a fairly big store that for the most part is clean and organized. The staff was extremely helpful whenever I asked where certain things were.
I came here about 4+ months ago to shop for some stuff for Halloween. I overheard the intercom talking about a very large discount for Veterans and I was floored. When I went up to the cash register, they told me that it was 30 percent off my entire purchase! I love places that give discounts to Veterans and this place gave as much as they could. Though I believe at the time they were running a special, I would still believe that a regular day would still fetch a vet around 10 percent which is still great.
I usually stop by here either before or after I go to Breakheart because it’s convenient and cheap. Can’t rave enough about this place.

This Ocean State Job Lot is freaking huge, which mean the selection is pretty good. The food section had more snack foods than staples. They have a decent amount of towels at low prices. The tool section here is also decent, sand paper and painting supplies are cheap here. They have a ton Christmas stuff already out. If you like cheap stuff go here, just try and find stuff you actually need. I passed on a drink because the top of the can was dirty and one of the guys working there cleaned it off with his shirt cuff (eww) and put it in a bin.

Have been several times in the last few weeks to this & a few other Ocean States & I had come to love them until yesterday…
Well in the last few weeks after I got home I looked closer at some of the things I bought & the expiration dates were way too soon for shelfed products…
So yesterday when in there I looked at everything as I was shopping & they were all way too ready to expire… Which means they have been somewhere else on the shelf & didnt sell…
So in my opinion the prices and the products (food) that they have although cheap & different, is just not worth it to me knowing they are almost inedible…
The other items are good, just most things I have found cheaper at walmart & often better quality… so as much as Im disappointed that I cant love this store anymore I still like going to find an occassional good find!

They carry brands I am a fan of and use! Awesome! Few no-​names I’ve started using too. Love a good discount and bargain.

This osjl is new and thus clean. I rate discount stores by the number of real brands they carry and by how much stuff is made or packaged specifically for sale at their locations. Here it is about fifty/​fifty. Thus 2.5 stars, I give the other half star for being new and clean. The discounts are okay, its no building 19, and while I will peruse the aisles, I often will leave empty handed.
Polar brand sodas are a good deal, other brands of sodas and drinks, let’s say that there is a reason they are at OSJL.

Also, though we did go through the whole store and still did not find any generators, we believe that we will be just fine. The boy and I are gathering plans to try and make an alliance with whom ever takes up residence at Home Depot that is across the way. Bartering will ensue if all goes well.

I always love a good Job Lot and I am very happy that one opened up my way! When I lived in Dorchester, I came to the Job Lot in Quincy at least every other week because you never know what you will find.
The Saugus store just recently opened, and is off Rt 1 near Kelly’s Roast beef. It is what you would expect, but the space is huuuuuge. They have everything I was expecting at pretty low prices. Also, the food here isn’t bad! I always buy the specialty stuff and spices.
Anyways, supppperrr happy that they are here yayyyyy!
