I have been a faithful client of Jimmy and his salon since I was 14 years old. I have traveled and lived all over, and tried some swanky places along the way, including some topnotch places in Manhattan, but James and Co still surpasses them all. Don’t let the unassuming front or the suburban location fool you, Jimmy could do celebrity hair. He attends hair conventions and lectures and is constantly staying up with the latest trends and products; I knew about Moroccan oil years before it hit other salons because of his dedication to his career. I almost don’t want to blow up this best kept secret of mine, but I owe it to him for being amazing. Lastly, he truly understands hair. Every cut and every color is like a fingerprint, he asks about lifestyle, studies skin tone, and comes up with something better than you could have imagined. I am a brunette but he has been making me blond for 9 years now. I still get comments all the time about how rare it is to see a natural blonde as an adult. I am so used to getting compliments on my hair that if someone doesn’t ask where I got it done that would just feel weird. He really is the best.

Went to Jimmy as my first hair cut since arriving in Boston over a month ago. He is close to where I’ve been staying temporarily. I was a little nervous to head over with only 1 review, but I am so glad I did.
I have NEVER, in my entire life, had such a thorough hair cut. Jimmy did more than just trim my hair, he styled it, explained the cut and what I need to accomplish the look I wanted. I suffer from minor male pattern baldness and he showed me the best way to deal with it and what I need to do long term to make it less obtrusive, He explained products thoroughly and basically gave me what turned into a hour and a half workshop on dealing with my difficulty. Going as far to explain what works best for my facial features, etc, completely took me by surprise.
I am not terribly vane but my hair has always been an issue for me once I started loosing it at an early age. So it was comforting to have someone feel like they actually gave a damn and make me feel better about it.
I would highly recommend anyone to go here. All of the other staff was incredibly pleasant and warming. They offered me and my GF a nice refreshment while we were waiting.
The interior was very well decorated, clean, and modern. It actually looks a bit out of place for its locale, but once your inside you’ll forget you ventured to Saugus.
Jimmy is a great conversationalist as is the other staff and you’ll feel right at home here once you walk in.
I’m setting my second appointment now.
