Sailing Fearless

I would highly recommend this sailing experience to anyone. I had a fear of water since I can’t swim, but I really wanted to experience sailing in the Pacific Ocean at least once in my life. Steve is knowledgeable, fun and easy to converse with, which really helped calm my nerves. The experience was really relaxing, beautiful scenery, and a true experience I will never forget. Thanks to this Great Positive Sailing experience, I no longer have a fear of water. I will definitely sail again with FEARLESS!!!

My boyfriend took me for my 30^th birthday. It was amazing! We booked it overnight and his wife cooked us the most amazing dinner. It was really romantic! No one bothered us and there was even a cute little shower. The bed is comfy, built for two.
If you don’t mind the gentle rocking, I highly recommend sleeping on a boat. It was amazing.
I felt completely comfortable aboard Fearless. I only got nervous once when the winds picked up and we really went a little sideways, (its normal for sailboats, I was told) but it was obvious that our captain knew excatly what was going on.
If you are looking for an easy going captian, amazing food, and a wonderful trip around the bay; you have found the place!

I took my wife and a few friends out as a treat for my wife’s 35^th birthday and we could not have had a better time. The weather turned out to be a perfect combination of sunny and slight winds with a few gust in certain areas. We felt quite at ease with Stephan as he clearly had superior command of his vessel and all the safety equipment was described and commented on in a thorough but entertaining way.
Stephan’s personality and clear passion for sailing were fantastic.
We sailed under the Golden Gate and then to Angel Island where we docked for bit to have some snacks.
On the return trip we encountered some stronger winds after getting past the protection of Angel Island but this only made the trip more fun with Stephan as he could open up the sails a bit and move out faster.
An exceptional time on a beautiful vessel with a very fun and knowledgeable Captain. The Bay never looked so beautiful.
I think my wife wants to go back for every birthday now.

We had a wonderful afternoon on the bay with Stephan. He made us feel right at home. The weather cooperated, the winds were brisk and we had so much fun! His easy conversation and knowledge of the area made it a relaxing adventure. We would certainly recommend this trip and hope to be back to do it again!

Our family had a wonderful afternoon sailing on the SF bay with Captain Stephan. We sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge then to Angel Island for a leisurely lunch. Excellent sailing the first half (we enjoyed sitting on the deck and partaking in the full experience) and then strong winds came up and we motored partway back. Take a windbraker, hat and sunglasses even on the warmest days. The Captain is very even keel, a delightful host, I highly recommend this and I would go again.

Really enjoyed our voyage with Captain Stephan. Our group of six included four 30 year olds and two 65 year olds. Stephan was able to take care of all of us quite well. He has a knack for conversation and we enjoyed sharing stories and local info for the entirety of the trip.
We sailed under the GG bridge, lunched at Angel Island and rounded our way back to dock. Stephan’s laid back, genuinely warm demeanor was certainly a highlight. Turns out he’s a great sailor too.

This is a real working boat, with a real local sailor and a real SF Bay experience — we had a great time with Captain Stephan. The fog threatened, but soon lifted and we had a wet and wild ride for a bit, a steady breeze for awhile and a nice calm return in the end… something for everyone. It’s cozy accommodations and a great way to spend an afternoon on the Bay. Thanks Captain Stephan for a great day — we look forward to sailing with you again!

So much fun! Stephan is really nice and the route we took (near Tiburon, stop at angel island) was perfect. Highly highly recommend.

Had a really great time last Sunday (9÷23÷12) — six of us plus Steve (captain) and Alex (1^st mate). Beautiful day, a little fog at the Golden Gate, but a great day for sailing. Trip to Angel Island was effortless due to the highly seasoned captain and crew. We spent some time on the island and then retreated back to the boat where Steve and Alex had a wonderful lunch prepared. Snacks of fruit, olives, feta, bread, chips and more were out while Steve grilled hamburgers off the back of the boat. Alex also served some really great chile while we we snacking. Wine, beer and sodas were available and none of us went hungry or thirsty. The trip back was more exciting — the winds were up and the tide was against us so we set sail into the chop and spray — we all got a little wet, but that’s what we came for! Great trip — highly recommend it and them.

We had a great day with Stephan and Sailing Fearless. I bought the trip for my boyfriend for his birthday and invited a bunch of his friends, and we had a fun, relaxing day sailing around the Bay, stopping at Angel Island for lunch and some sun. We saw a lot of the Bay and learned a lot about sailing from Stephan. I recommend this as a fun excursion and interesting way to see the city and area in a new and different way!

A really good time on the bay. Although it was cold and I was unprepared, my friends and I had a fantastic time with Captain Stephan at the wheel. Very experienced sailor, even allowed my friends a chance to steer. Definitely would recommend!

We went out with Captain Steve recently to celebrate my Mom’s 60^th birthday. Captain Steve is very knowledgeable and appears to practice ‘safety first’ while sailing. I appreciate this, but I must admit I’m slightly disappointed in the overall experience for a few reasons. I should mention I purchased the groupon which was a great deal but it is my pet peeve when groupon customers are treated differently than ‘regular’ customers (the groupon deal was for 4 hours, a light meal (i.e. wrap) and 2 drinks per person). As a business owner, the main reason for offering a groupon is to put yourself out there with the idea that this ‘special’ will ultimately lead to more business via word of mouth. And hopefully repeat customers, right?!
Unfortunately, the weather was not great the day we set out on the bay from 4 – 8 pm. Our group was born and raised in the bay area therefore we were prepared for unpredictable weather. It was a foggy day therefore Captain Steve opted to avoid his normal route by the GG, along the city, around Angel Island and Alcatraz. Instead we headed north and were planning to go to San Pablo bay and possibly around Angel Island. Unfortunately, about an hour into our trip captain Steve mentioned the fog was a little too thick for his liking. At that point he suggested we turn around and in about 30 minutes we were docked back in the marina. At this point, we got out the light snacks we had brought and Captain Steve pointed out that our ‘spread’ was better than what he had and he didn’t get any snacks out. What he said may have been true but he should have let the customer be the judge of that since it was supposed to be included. After we snacked it was clear that the experience was coming to a close and Captain Steve helped us off the boat, only about 2 hours after we set out. It’s true that the fog was getting a little worse but realistically we weren’t in any real danger. In fact, we stayed in the Presidio Yacht Club for a bit and within 20 minutes the fog cleared! It was more clear than it had been the entire 2 hour trip! Nobody would have been able to guess how long the conditions would remain like that… BUT it would have been nice if Captain Steve would have recognized that our trip was cut in half and even said ‘if things clear up we’ll head back out for a bit’ — even if he had no intention of doing so!
Lastly, Captain Steve mentioned he didn’t have my phone number as he was slightly disorganized when he began booking the groupon charters. It wasn’t until the next day that I noticed he had sent an email at about 9:30 am on the day of our trip inquiring whether we could come early. Maybe our sailing experience would have been a bit longer if Captain Steve had my contact number? There really is no excuse, I assumed he had my number since I had called his cell phone initially to save the date, again to schedule the time, and yet again closer to the date to confirm the date/​time and what was included.
Overall, this was not a bad experience but it could have been MUCH better.

Captain Stephan was awesome. Me and 3 of my girlfriends wanted to go sailing and this deal was on living social. My friend bought it and we sailed for about 3 hours. He also provided lunch and drinks for us. It was amazing. We sailed under the golden gate bridge. Then we sailed through the Alcatraz and around treasure island. That day was pretty windy and cold with a little bit of sunlight. I would bring a jacket anyways because San Francisco is never warm when your near the water. I would definitely sail with Captain Stephan again. Thanks for showing us around San Francisco.

Captain Stephan Sowash sailed me over to Angel Island with supplies for a friends and family BBQ that my wife and I hosted. Over 80 people attended. While at Angel Island, the Captain took multiple groups of people out on the Bay throughout the day. It was by far the highlight of the BBQ for the attendees. He is passionate about sailing, very knowledgable about the Bay, and a charming individual. If you go sailing with Captain Sowash out on our beautiful San Francisco Bay, you WILL have a wonderful time!

I’ve sailed aboard Fearless several times, and each time was more fun than the last! Captain Sowash picked us up in San Francisco and showed us Angel Island, where we stopped and had lunch aboard, and then the Golden Gate Bridge. I would highly recommend SailFearless for a great day on the Bay!
