I really can’t thank Jess enough. I am purchasing an engagement ring and it’s my first time doing this so I walked in frightened, nervous, and completely out of my element. Jess made me feel relaxed in making my decisions. Also I am a peculiar person who had specific wants (mainly no diamonds but still a significant looking ring) and she made me feel comfortable in my unique needs and eased me into a decision that was personal and natural.
She had the ring augmented so it was deeply personal and reflected my lady and me in a way that I can’t be more happy with and that makes me amazingly grateful. It’s perfect. Jess alone makes this my one stop shop for any jewelry needs I’ll have in the future.
The whole store is nice and well laid out with a wide variety of items for both sexes. The entire staff and owner, besides Jess, are all very convivial. The location could possibly be annoying for non tourists or Sausalito residents as it is situated in the most touristy part of town but personally I love this area of town. It reminds me of being whisked away to Europe in only a short ferry from the city.
Tourists who are thinking of a surprise last minute jewelry purchase should make Sausalito Jewelers their destination as you can’t get a better and more beautiful location in the Bay Area with an amazing view literally across the street.

We got both an engagement ring and our wedding rings at Sausalito Jewelers. We were absolutely blown away by how generous and personable Sam is, and by his entire staff (Jessica, in particular, was helpful and always remembered us!). From start to finish they made us feel comfortable with the process, comfortable with the budget, and confident that we were getting the absolute highest quality pieces. One thing in particular that was perfect was that each ring was customized to meet our tastes and preferences. They have lots of amazing jewelry to start with, but getting to add (or in our case, remove) detail meant that we got the absolute right rings. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable about this industry, and he has impeccable taste.
Finally, everything about this experience indicated to us that Sam is in this for the long-​term relationship, not the one-​time sale. We already know that whenever we need (want!) fine jewelry in the future, we’re headed back here. We trust this place. We know they have great pieces. We know the staff is warm and generous. The staff at Sausalito Jewelers helped me pick out an engagement ring. The process was not nearly as stressful as I thought it would be. They helped me select a diamond and custom made the perfect ring for it. It was neat creating an original «one of a kind» design.

My first experience with this jeweler was when I purchased my husband’s wedding band, so this store holds a special place in my heart. Since then we have been back many times to purchase gifts for my mother-​in-​law and others. It’s a wonderful, family owned business with superb service. The owner Sam is extremely caring and strives for excellent customer service and quality. Recently he repurposed some of my old, neglected jewelry and recreated some fabulous new pieces! Sausalito Jewelers is great, and Sam is beyond amazing in his talent, honesty, and concern for his clients. Sam is fantastic!!! My first visit resulted in looking through several of his amazing and rare colored stones. My next visit, an amazing cocktail ring that I didn’t need but couldn’t help but call my own. My Mom came out for a visit and much like me, jewelry is her kryptonite and she left with a piece. Lastly Sam was able to fix several items and it was no small request and as expected, Sam did an amazing job! I’m thrilled to have found a jeweler I trust in the bay area! First, I love the jewelry in this store, very unusual pieces. What I love most about Sausalito Jewelers is their absolutely commitment to outstanding customer service. My gorgeous ring has a life-​time warranty and broke. The staff took marvelous care of me, communicated with me every step of the way through the fix and return. Every visit and call was handled with such care, positivity and friendliness I felt like a truly valued customer. I will be back again and again and I will tell all my friends about Sausalito jewelers!

I found Sausalito Jewelers in my search for someone who could make a matching mate for my grandma’s former wedding ring. The two rings would be used for my own upcoming marriage. I heard that it was made in Sausalito so I tried this shop. I walked in and Sam greeted us with his warm and welcoming nature. He instantly recognized it as having been created in his shop back in the 70s! He said that it would be his honor to make a matching ring and that he loves taking on heirloom projects like this. I was instantly put at my ease with his great explanation of the possible dangers of modifying the existing ring (the emeralds might fall out because they showed signs of fracture) as well as how the process would work to create the new one.
He created the new ring all by hand and let us in on the whole process and even re-​sculpted the wax mold when we had suggestions about how we wanted it to look artistically and as we honed in on exactly the right size. We met with him quite a few times to get it just right. I started to feel like we were becoming too picky because we came in so much to check things out all along the process but every time we saw him he was so gracious and understanding and he even reminded us that this is a symbol of our love and so it was very important to him that we loved it and felt included in the process. I’ve never had such a great relationship with a jeweler and he was truly a joy to work with.
The finished rings are incredible. His ability to match a vintage ring was clearly amazing. We are so grateful that we found Sam as we could not be more happy with our wedding rings! He’s the best!

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. When I travel– I like to pop into local jewelery stores to see what kind of interesting piece I can buy that will remind me of that trip. And Sausalito Jewelers did not disappoint.
We were window shopping on a recent Saturday, killing time before taking the ferry back across the bay. And that’s when I saw it. A perfect piece that would make people ask «where’d you get that?» and then I can launch into my story of a perfect weekend in San Francisco and the side trip to Sausalito.
As I walked into the store– we were greeted by a lovely woman who removed the pieces I was looking at from the case and who also gave us some information about the artist who designed them My internal debate did not take long as I knew I wanted it if the price was right.…and it was!
The necklace and earrings were soon mine and I left the store already thinking about when I would be able to wear them.
A simple design, but one that will remind me over and over again of that perfect afternoon in Sausalito.

I recently bought my fiancé’s engagement ring from Sam at Sausalito Jewelers. Sam is a fantastic jeweler and both my fiancé and I couldn’t be happier with our experience with him.
I brought my fiancé in months before I planned to propose to get sized and see the sort of ring she likes. After an initial sizing, she described her dream ring to Sam and he got right to work designing it especially for her.
I normally would have been completely intimated by the diamond selection process but Sam took several weeks to help me find the perfect diamond by bringing in and reviewing 30+ stones. He also made customer education a high priority, which I appreciated.
We worked very close on the custom ring design and he even sent me multiple sketches/​3D designs and molds of the ring. He even went so far as to add a thin «stability bar» underneath the diamond so she wouldn’t knock it out of the setting, as she is a chef and works with her hands all day.
Sam is caring and thoughtful and really went the extra mile to make sure I was completely satisfied with the ring before I proposed. We had to get it resized the day after I proposed and Sam had it ready for my fiancé within the afternoon so she wouldn’t have to go without her ring for a few days like that is standard at other jewelers.
I wholeheartedly recommend Sausalito Jewelers for all the special occasions in your life. We plan to get our wedding rings there this Spring and I know it will be just as of a wonderful experience as the first and can’t wait to use Sam for future jewelry needs during the years to come.

Three and half years later — still love the ring I bought from Sam. I can’t even tell you the number of compliments I’ve received. Everyone loves the design. About six months ago when I brought the ring back for cleaning, Sam even offered to polish and dip and do the whole thing, and the ring came back looking as good as new. Thank you. I know I’m going back for more good finds.

Sam is an amazing jeweler with an extraordinarily creative eye, who has turned a collection of random-​colored, yet meaningful gems, into an heirloom for me.
My paternal Grandfather brought some stones home to the U.S. when he was in Asia in the 40s. He left those stones to my Father, who in turn gave them to me. Whether the stones held any monetary value or not, I wanted a way to wear them. Sam took them from the pill box in which they had been stored for nearly 60 years, and designed the most stunning bracelet I could have ever imagined. It’s a one-​of-​a-​kind, eye-​catching piece, that holds great sentimental value to me. It’s elegant and simply beautiful.

From the first phone call to last, I was assisted by a fantastic, upbeat individual named Angelina. She was always very helpful, informative, and transparent with me. I believe «Above & Beyond» is her middle name. I don’t think I’ve ever been this comfortable shopping in the unfamiliar world of jewelery. She definitely made it clear that she and Sausalito Jewelers cared about me as a customer and as a human being.
Sam is the owner of this great little store. He was always happy to answer all of my questions, no matter how stupid they seemed to me, with detail and honesty. Sam does all of the jewelery work himself and did an excellent job on my fiancée’s engagement ring. Bonus points for being so understanding of my budget and financial situation as a young-​adult with limited resources. I cannot thank him enough for that.
My girlfriend and I decided to shop for an engagement ring together several months prior to coming across this fine store. We searched high and low for her particular taste in design & elegance and found the perfect setting online, found two establishments that carried the designer line in the greater Bay Area, and I ended up with Sausalito Jewelers. The first store that I had called to ask about the setting was cold and very unhelpful but I saw it through to the end by traveling out to see the setting in person and speak to the owner. I’d never thought that I’d run across a jewelery store owner that was so rude & terse to a customer willing to spend thousands at their place of business.
Sausalito Jewelers to the rescue! I called in, was quoted a fair & reasonable price for the setting, and purchased there on the spot. I’d notified Sam that I would be shopping around for the center diamond because my budget was limited and I needed to find the best quality for the best price. He sat me down and educated me on the color, cut, and quality of diamond I should be on the look out for. I thanked him and went about my business. I shopped at several jewelery stores all around the Bay Area (North, South, and East) and had a good idea of what I wanted. I was so impressed by my first experience I had completely forgotten to get a diamond pricing from them! What kind of store doesn’t pounce at the opportunity to upsell to a customer while they’re at the register? The kind that knows to give a customer space & time. I came back to Sam & Angelina with the size, color, and quality diamond I was looking for within my price range. My parameters proved to be difficult to cater to but Sam felt he could find something that would work for me. I gave him some time and he told me to come by the store to see Angelina with the stone he had found. I came, sat, and saw that it was the stone I’ve been looking for. Cheaper than I was quoted for a similar stone at a chain jeweler, larger than I expected, better quality than I thought I could afford, and sparkled with extreme brilliance. Needless to say, I left my setting there at the store to have Sam mount the stone with expert precision. I had the ring back in my hands within a few weeks. (There were a few unforeseen issues that came up, otherwise I would have gotten it back sooner) I’m still spinning from the service I’ve been given at Sausalito Jewelers! I can confidently say that all future jewelery gifts for my fiancée, soon to be wife, will be purchased from here! No need to shop elsewhere. I know where my jewelery home is now. Thanks Sam! WOW!!! Have to say Sam knows how to deliver an OUTSTANDING quality experience. Live in Atlanta and love to visit San Fran & Napa. We stopped in Sausalito on a bike ride over the Golden Gate and I feel in love with a ring. Which my husband purchased from Sam. Service and attention to detail is impeccable! He will have two life time customers from Atlanta!

There are few times in today’s world when you really experience outstanding service — working with Sam and his team at Sausalito Jewelers is one of them. They are knowledgeable, trustworthy and have high quality (with uniqueness) pieces.
In June 2009 my then girlfriend (she hates me calling her that, but now I get to call her fiancé — hang with the story) and I did a bike tour over the Golden Gate while we were on vacation. We made our last stop in Sausalito and after stopping at the Starbucks next door we walked by Sausalito Jewelers. They had an engagement ring in the display and after seeing my fiancé’s face I knew this was the one. We actually did not walk in on that day (she refused to — I used to tease her about the rings to get a feel for what she would like), but I could tell this was the one.
This takes us to December of ’09 when I called them up and explained the scenario and the ring I was interested in. They shot me a ton of email pictures of the rings they had and we found the one I was looking for. Sam (the owner) spent a lot of time with me to educate me on the setting, stone options, etc., and made it clear he was willing to work with me and my budget.
I decided to pull the trigger in February ’10 while we were going on a skiing trip. However, I made this decision on a MONDAY and told Sam that I needed to have the ring in my hands by THURSDAY. I live in the Atlanta area and needless to say I knew it may be a stretch to get this done.
Bottom line, they delivered. Sam and team bent over backwards to not just meet my request of getting the ring in time, but he built a beautiful piece — one that she loves. It was a very personal service experience that included follow-​up calls to make sure the ring arrived on time, if she liked the ring, etc.
Needless to say, these guys have a lifetime client. I would HIGHLY recommend them and I am typically harder on evaluating the service experience (I have been in the service and sales business, including evaluation and training for ~15 years).
