I asked for a quote for an alternator replacement. Gave me the run around bullshitting me being a smart ass telling me it could be something else. He asked me how i knew it was the alternator, I told him. He got mad and told me he doesn’t do quotes and started pulling shit out of his ass, you could of just told me that in the beginning. Pulled out my alternator had it tested at autozone and it was the problem. Poor customer service doesn’t get business «boeser».

He stepped me through what had to be done to replace my worn out clutch, let me know the other things that should be fixed and a good estimate of how long I could wait to get them repaired. Bought new tires, brake rotors, and pads for my ’06 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 so I went to Boeser for install. I called ahead for a quote and was told $ 290. Another local shop quoted $ 320. Both good prices. Dropped it off at 7:30am with Tom the owner. After talking with him and getting him the keys he wandered off to the back. I waited a few minutes before going out back myself and asking if we were done for now. We were; he just failed to close the conversation («ok, I’ll call you when it’s done» or at least a «bye»). From the little we talked I got the impression he doesn’t really know much about or even like cars. Not a «car guy». Perhaps he used to be back in the 70’s. A couple hours later he calls and says my wheels & tires are too big so he’ll have to send it to another place. This is annoying because I specifically told him my tire size on the phone, but whatever. Finally after 4pm my wife asks if it’s time to pick up the Jeep which reminds me to call (since they didn’t call me). I call and the employee says Tom was supposed to call me but he left. The Jeep had been done for a while. I pick it up and was presented a bill for $ 450. I was like «WTF?!» The sad employee said he has been trying to get ahold of Tom but no answer, and he couldn’t do anything about the bill. I paid it and signed the receipt hugely «I’M PISSED!». I notice my Jeep now speaks French and my tire pressures are 37,40, 32, 34. That’s not right. He was also supposed to test drive my car to see if the transmission is slipping. I got no word if they did this. He also couldn’t install an oil catch can (popular item for modern HEMIs) but couldn’t figure out where to install the 2 hoses. I called him the next morning (since he again didn’t call me) to discuss all these issues. He proceeded to lie about the quoted price and deflect or ignore all the other issues. He was hostile and I think he’s going through some kind of breakdown. NOT RECOMMENDED! Let this place go the way of the carburetor…

Charged half of what the dealership quoted. A little above average prices but honest and reliable. I believe they service the local police vehicles.

Can I just make a sigh of relief? Car troubles really seem to stress me out maybe more than the average person. I drive a lot so when my car is out of commission (or transmission in this case) I feel like I am not able to do the things that I need to. Over the winter my check engine light came on. Later that day my car would die at every stop I made which is not convenient at stop lights in Minneapolis trafiic… ok ok ok on to the goods. It ended up being my transmission. I was quoted $ 5500 from the dealership and charged $ 120 just to diagnose my car. I then was referred to look for ATRA Certification and call Transmission Specialists with the certification– it ensures it is a reputable repair shop, etc. (Visit their site for more details on that) Savage isnt necessarily next door to me but from the first phone conversation I had with Boeser, I was shocked by their empathy and professionalism. They understood and said they would take care of me and thats EXACTLY what they did! My transmission was fixed with a superb warranty and all of the other upcoming problems were brought to my attention in terms of safety and overall importance. I will go to Boeser for all of my auto needs from now on NO QUESTIONS ASKED! They are honest, hardworking, caring individuals and they get the job done for great pricing. I never ever do this stuff but I am so awe-​struck by their honesty and integrity– sometimes can be very hard to find with car problems!!!
