Service brings a new definition of bad to mind. Got overcharged and under-served. A double order of the fish pita tacos is half a pita, therefore a single serving is a quarter pita? Really? Ok, I’ll forgive that. Oh and it must be fancy because instead of the fish being in the pita it’s lumped on top of it. Lazy and the flavorless at that. Also, they make the worst homemade pickles I’ve ever tasted, no exaggeration. I’ve honestly given this place three chances only to experience three strikes. You’re out Blue Turtle. You’re just lucky I feel one star is reserved for personal vendettas.

Went here today for lunch with a friend. Quiet, plenty of space and good food. I had the fish tacos with a side for an additional 2 dollars to make it a full meal. The fish tasted fresh. I would have liked a hint of citrus or perhaps a lime wedge served with the meal. Service was a little slow, but attentive. Our drinks stayed topped off. Very pleasant experience. I’d like to try their cocktails sometime, but had to go back to work.

Terrific vegetarian entrees and vegan options! Great craft beer on tap, live music. It’s hidden away in a neighborhood of medical businesses(near hospitals) — what a gem! Our entres were very well prepared and presented. Prices very reasonable; they seem very focused on local provisioners, organic produce and southeastern brewries. I’ve just moved to Savannah and was unable to find a «real» place with«real» local food and«real» vegetarian entrees. I can relax now! I’ll be back.

Blue Turtle Bistro of The Gaslight restaurant group in Savannah is excellent. Lunch there today brightened my dreary day. I got the lunch special which was the marinated, grilled chicken sandwich topped with melted cheddar cheese, mixed greens, sliced tomato, and crispy bacon on a kaiser bun. The chicken on the sandwich was so juicy and flavorful that I realized only after eating that there was no mayonnaise or dressing. Healthier and tasty too, what a win-win. It came with one side which I chose the spinach salad. The salad came to me first and was simple, light and refreshing. The flour less chocolate torte was a very happy conclusion to a wonderful dining experience. The service was fast and polite. My order was correct and the environment was comfortable and pleasant.

Oh Blue Turtle… no tourists. No stupid people with cameras looking for Paula Deen or other Savannah ‘celebrities’. Yay. I love this place and always frequent when I’m back home. This is a great casual place and you can sit inside or out. Often there is live music as well. I’m a huge fan of the salads. All of them. The spinach salad is filling(get the shrimp on the side), the flatbreads are cheesy goodness and are a great light lunch. If they have a risotto special, get it. I just hope the tourists don’t find out about this place.

Blue Turtle catered my wedding in Savannah. The food, especially the grilled pimento cheese station, was all the rave! I cannot say enough about the professionalism of the staff, and quality of the food and service. BTB created an amazing upscale southern menu for my wedding and even served one my grandmother’s recipes! I enjoyed working with Kelly from BTB so much that we booked their sister restaurant Blowin Smoke BBQ to caterer our Rehearsal Dinner. If you are looking for a caterer to exceed all of your expectations, look no further!

Went to lunch here with co-workers. There wasn’t anything vegan on the menu and the chef prepared something special just for me. It was amazing! Will go there again!

We stopped in here while in Savannah for lunch. The décor is nice and the service was ok. The menu had a lot of options and is well thought out. I tried the Red Rice and Shrimp and it was pretty good. The rice was cooked well and the shrimp & andouille were tasty, although I would have like a few more shrimp. My wife ordered the Cured Salmon sandwich which I tried a bite of and it was good. She got the potato salad for her side, and I thought it was the best thing we had. It is made with bacon and cheddar… yum! There is nothing exceptional about the Blue Turtle, but it is definitely worth a visit.

Wow. Very disappointing meal at Blue Turtle Bistro. Let me just say that I love the idea of BTB, the space is beautiful, and great care has been taken to craft a thoughtful and varied menu. However… I had the risotto special(with grouper, chorizo, spinach and goat cheese) and it was so, so, so runny! Risotto should have a lose texture but it was way too soup-y. The broth/cream mixture needed to be cooked out for another 5 minutes or so. The flavor was nice. Delicious creamy goat cheese. A few of my chorizo pieces weren’t cooked all the way through, yikes. My server was training(he admitted it was his first day) but was very sweet and obviously trying very hard even though the girl training him was being less than helpful. I could hear her reprimanding him for not doing things right. Awkward conversation to have within ear shot of the customer! Also, I had to ask for the wine menu and the dessert menu. Neither were offered to me. Chalk that up to first day jitters I guess? The most disappointing part of the meal was dessert. Whiskey pecan pie with maple ice cream. Great idea, horrible execution. The pie was refrigerated so the texture wasn’t ooey gooey like other pecan pies I have had(and enjoyed!) The crust was disastrously thick and my spoon was no match to cut through it. Crust is my favorite part of pie. It’s why I always chose pie over cake. Buttery, flake-y crust is one of the most perfect things ever. But when you refrigerate pie you ruin the crust! The ice cream on the side was melting into a puddle by the time it made it to my table. It was more of a cold maple sauce than ice cream. Cold, hard crust+half frozen filling+melted ice cream=seriously depressing end to a meal. This was my second visit. First time I went for brunch and it was OK, nothing special. Won’t be spending any more money at BTB. Pub 29 next door has better service, and better food too!

We stopped in for Sunday Brunch, thanks to a Living Social deal. Our server was inattentive, and hardly spend more than a few moments at our table when she did actually swing by. I felt like I was inconveniencing her. I would have ordered a second drink and considered dessert had she given me the chance! We had the shrimp and goat cheese omelette(it was sparsely filled) and the Eggs Benedict(not bad). The kitchen forgot a side dish we ordered and the fresh fruit that was supposed to come with our meals. The food was nothing to write home about, except the pancake we had on the side — it was perfect!

We had dinner here in May on a Friday evening. Good service, interesting menu. Bread and salads delicious. We all enjoyed our entrees salmon, tenderloin medallions and duck. Salmon was a little too salty and beef slightly underdone compared to requested doneness but not a major issue, just needs a little work. Definitely will return.

We went here on a Friday evening for dinner. We were greeted immediately. Our waitress was Jinny. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. We started with the Baked Brie for two. It was fine. My husband ordered the Blue Turtle salad. I had the Thai Beef Salad. The salads were delicious. For drinks we both had unsweetened ice tea. It wasn’t good. However, no one makes tea like Lambert’s; throwed . Anyway we ordered dessert to go. He had chocolate pots de crème and was disappointed. I had the cheesecake and it was bad. Jello brand from the grocery store is 100% better. Go for the food and skip the dessert. The ice tea too unless you like weak ice tea.

I’d rate this 4.75 stars. Had a delicious dinner for 2 with a cocktail & wine. My friend had the scallops, made to order and I devoured the coq au vin. We had the side salad of wonderful mixed greens. The service was terrific, the waitress was very knowledgable, courteous and eager to please. The reason I’m not offering the full 5 stars is the ambiance… the almost bare walls, aluminum chairs, bare tabletops makes for a noisy atmosphere where you can hear your neighbor’s conversation. Do go… it’s very very good. A bonus is easy parking.

Stopped in to check out Blue Turtle Bistro on a hot tip from a friend of ours suggesting them as an awesome lunch location. My wife had a hunch that they might serve brunch as well and lo and behold: we walked into their very first Sunday brunch. Call it beginner’s luck but they really did a great job! She ordered the spinach and shrimp omelette which was served with potato wedges and fruit. I had the huevos rancheros which came in two tortilla bowls with chorizo, guacamole, black beans, lettuce, and poached eggs. A fantastic spin on eggs benedict. Everything was delicious and service was extremely swift. The location is very convenient to Memorial Hospital and Candler. They also apparently offer a «yappy hour» every Tuesday on the patio, something I’m certain we’ll attend in the future. With coq au vin on the menu, it’s hard to say no. Definitely give these guys a shot if you’re looking for something sophisticated in a relaxed atmosphere.
