The seafood was probably one of the best I’ve had but the service left my husband and I somewhat severely annoyed. My husband and I ate here at around 5:00pm on a Sunday night so the restaurant was moderately packed. We were seated indoors close to the river. Our waitress, was at first, very attentive. She recommended the dynamite shrimp for appetizer(which was amazing! Just the right amount of spice!) and we ordered the oyster dinner and Mediterranean shrimp scampi for entrée. After putting in our order, our waitress was given a table, two tables behind ours, of people she knew. This is where the service took a severe decline. As she became extremely attentive to the needs of the people at the table she knew, we had to ask twice for drink refills, waited over 30 minutes for our appetizer to come out and another 30 for our entrée to come out(my oyster dinner was lukewarm at best). The table she knew, was seated well after we were, but yet settled the check at the same time as us. It was annoying waiting for your completely empty drink to get refilled after eating something spicy and watching a table two away from us get refills at being half full. I know this is an issue of service by a single wait staff member so I will say the food was stellar. Some of the best seafood I’ve had, if it were warm and arrived on time. But the service we experienced(or lack there of) warranted the review to be 3 stars instead of 5. There’s a difference between«southern charm» and outright favoritism. We’ll dine again but hopefully on a day she won’t be working.

I came to this restaurant after trying to find another resturant that was closed for renovations. We arrived 15 minutes before closing and the host was very welcoming. There was also a family of about 5 people who arrived at 10 on the dot and they allowed them to be seated. Great customer service in my opinion. They had $ 5 drink specials and our server was incredibly nice with great suggestions. I ordered the salmon served on top of mashed potatoes. My food was amazing! The mashed potatoes were home made and nice and creamy! My partner ordered the crab stuffed shrimp entrée and I tried a few. They were great as well. Imagine a crab cake inside of shirmp. We enjoyed ourselves so much we wanted to go back the next day, but time didn’t allow us to.

Service was very slow! We waited over an hour just for our food and they were not busy at all. However, our waitress was friendly. The food did not sit well in our stomachs either. Not a fan and don’t believe my family will be returning.

I must say after the long wait… The food was fresh & tasty! However… the portions are set for the tourists(small)! So we made sure that we’d search for a true seafood crab shack.

Great food and perfect location. Our server, Hattie, didn’t miss a beat as she took care of us in addition to being given a 15 person group. Always upbeat and speedy, she was fantastic. She recommended the Peppercorn salad dressing and nailed it. Rates in the top 5 dressings I’ve ever had — a must have on your visit. Our table orders included the Dynamite Shrimp(appetizer), white shrimp, surf and turf, Chicken Alfredo and kid’s grilled cheese. Make sure to order the Dynamite Shrimp(if you like a little kick in your appetizer) and ask for a table with a view. Every last bite of our white shrimp(4 stars), steak(3 stars) and Chicken Alfredo(5 stars) were eaten. Thee apple pie couldn’t been better but wasn’t bad. Highly recommend Love’s and if we ever pass through the area again, we’ll be back.

I have eaten here several times and did so again last night. The waiter, Terry, was great. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food was great as usually. Not gourmet seafood but good southern style food. I had the GA White shrimp fried and they were done perfectly. they were lightly battered. cole slaw was good and the sweet tea was very good. Overall this is a great place for dinner and for gatherings. I would recommend it to anyone.

From the minute we walked up and heard the blues/jazz music playing we knew we were in the right place. Great outdoor patio … and wonderful indoor seating along a glassed wall with a fabulous waterfront view! Luckily Kristina(a sweet and intuitive hostess!) sat us right in the perfect spot by a huge glass window with a beautiful sunset! The next best thing to happen to us was we had Terry as our server! Terry was so attentive and considerate! Cordial and pleasing … we truly enjoyed having him help us with our wine and dinner selections! Love’s is very lucky to have Terry with them! He presents a genuinely caring person… who wants to make your meal a memorable dining pleasure! We had eaten a late lunch so decided on a few appetizers… I ordered crab stew(known as she crab soup in Virginia) and I’ve never had so much crab in the soup before! Lumps and chunks galore! My Oysters Rock were juicy with lots of spinach and bacon atop huge plump oysters!!! WOW! Bobby had clam chowder and it was also loaded with the appropriate amount of clams!!! Delish! For his ‘dinner’ he had the steamed shrimp and they were moist and tender … served with a great garlic butter! Our experience was wonderful due to the great food and great service! Thank you Terry and Mr. & Mrs. Love and Kristina! We’ll be back!

This is a late review but my husband and I really enjoyed our meal. He had the crab stew and fried shrimp dinner. I had a crab cake appetizer and fried shrimp dinner and it was the bomb. The red rice was so moist. Would visit again.

Just ordered shrimp and grits, hello? Ever heard of seasoning? The grits were so bland I must have salted at least 5 times! And the«sautéed» shrimp, ha, tasted like boiled shrimp, also no flavor. I really had high hopes, especially for the price! It’s sad that the salad had more flavor! What a disappointment!

If you’re drawn in by a decent meal with large portions, this is a good place to go. We started with the side salad, which was made with a typical iceberg lettuce/red cabbage mix as well as cucumbers, cheese, and one grape tomato each. The onion ring appetizer was a generous portion and more than plenty for two adults. There must have been at least 15 or so and they’re big! Also, the onions are tender while the breading was exceptionally crispy. We ordered fried catfish and fried shrimp for dinner. The fish was tasty and the breading on the shrimp was delicately light and crispy. The rice side item was a little sweet and had tomatoes, sausage, and onions in it. The cole slaw was very finely shredded. The tartar sauce tasted like it had onions in it. This isn’t a personal preference. The service was good. Our server was friendly and the atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. The view is also nice. Improve the salad(maybe use some mixed greens) for a 5 star experience from this guest.

Stopped in because of the ambience — we could see people eating outside near the water. The setting was absolutely gorgeous! The food was not as great. I got peel your own shrimp and they were very mediocre. I also got a baked scallop dish and they were so overcooked that i couldn’t eat them. My husband got a steak and that was really good. We might give it another try but i wont get seafood and its a seafood restaurant.

The view of the sunset was incredible! Service was okay, though it took a while for our server to get to us and she moved very slow throughout our whole dinner. The food was also okay, nothing to special just average seafood. The only thing I really recommend was the fried scallops. They were great! We ordered the fried seafood platter which had catfish, shrimp, scallops, oysters, a crab ball, fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. Also a bucket of oysters and a cluster of crab.(Be prepared to put in a lot of work for these two) The crab was over cooked and the oysters weren’t cleaned. Overall an okay place

I’ve been to this establishment twice, both times were work engagements where my presence was compulsory, otherwise I wouldn’t have gone. I will say this place is in one of the best locations south of Savannah. The view is spectacular, especially in the early evening sunset. Hence, the second star. The cocktails are haphazardly constructed and poured with precise measurements(overpriced for what you get in my opinion). The catfish fillets are small, over-battered in seasoning and are reminiscent of decades old grease. I shutter to think what Gordon Ramsey would discover in the back room of this place… The shrimp and grits were cool, grainy, and too soupy for my taste. Granted we were part of a large party, the service was slow and unresponsive.

Excellent service, delicious food cooked and grilled to perfection. I recommend the Surf n Turf, since its customizable. Comes with a starter salad, fresh and crisp. I ordered the ribeye and fried shrimp. Ask for horseradish if you have the same taste buds as I. Green beans are homemade and potatoes are perfectly moist, no gravy needed. Will be back!

Such fresh seafood !! Looking out onto the swampy«low country»… It’s what the tourist are looking for & what locals expect. Great shrimp & catfish & oysters ! And sides like fried okra, or collards, cheese grits and such. They’ve been in business Forever and were way less POSH when I was a kid. The prices & décor these days, say«fine dining». The food however is authentic low country cookin’ —- soul food, family style, with Sweet Tea, Darlin’. I think it’s worth every penny for this delicious taste of southern hospitality .— pass the Hushpuppies, Ya’ll.
