Phoenix Holistic Center & Spa

I’ve been singing and playing music for most of my life, and while I am usually able to push through vocal fatigue and stress, there have been some times where it has threatened to get the better of me.
While performing in Savannah in a particularly vocally difficult show, I began to have major vocal fatigue on a performance weekend. Thankfully, the director contracted James Dowling to come to the theatre for hour massages immediately prior to showtimes.
I can say, without any hesitation, that these neck/​back massages were the ONLY reason I was able to get through two different performances intact. Mr. Dowling was incredibly sensitive to my specific need, and was extremely professional and accommodating. I recommend his and Phoenix Holistic Center’s services without hesitation.

So I should have known when two of my friends on separate occasions gave me weird looks when I told them I was going to Phoenix Holistic Center. But hey, I purchased a Groupon certificate for a service there and it was about to expire so I figured-​what did I have to lose? I make my appointment for a Saturday March 24^th at 2:30 pm. At 1 o’clock the day of my appointment, James, the owner calls to cancel my service. His fiancé’s grandmother died and they have to travel-​I express my sympathy– he says he will call me to reschedule-​I get on with my day.
So the next week I never heard back so I go online and make an appointment for the following Saturday at 11:00 am. I get an email confirmation-​you are booked looking forward to seeing you etc. At 1015 on Saturday my phone rings… wait for it… It is James again. His fiancé has had ANOTHER death in the family and he has to go to the funeral today-​so he will have to cancel. In the immortal words of Seth Meyers from SNL REALLY!!! All I can say is A: Maybe he just did not want to honor the Groupon and did not want to waste his time or B: His fiancé’s must be really unlucky… he may want to think twice before marrying into that bunch. So some of you may be saying that it is not nice to joke about the dead, but there is one thing I know… when we have a death in the family the funeral is usually planned out so if James knew he had to go to a funeral that Saturday why wait until an hour before my appointment to cancel?
