History

Established in 1899.

The members of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 149 are proud of their organization and for good reason.

Long before the Green Movement, Local 149 was teaching efficiency. Whether through water-​saving plumbing fixtures, energy-​saving methods of air conditioning, or cost-​effective hydronic heating, Local 149 has refused the «cookie cutter» efficiency plans. Our members are trained to understand piping systems that best fit different needs and situations. Upon completion of our five-​year apprenticeship program, our members have the hands-​on skills and classroom knowledge needed to best serve our industry.
