I would never go here again. The Vet told me that unless I make my own cat food, my cats will die of cancer or diabetes. She was demeaning and assured me you cannot trust any cat food manufacturers. I think she is paranoid, but besides that, she is not professional at all. I have 4 cats, ages 9, 9, 9 and 13. My last cat was 24 when she died. I think they are doing ok with cat food bought at the store.

I was blown away by the unprofessional of the staff who work here. Dr. Hoyt is fantastic. If I could review her separately, I would. But when you’re dealing with the vet techs for a significant part of the time, their attitudes, job aptitude and professionalism matter. They are not detail oriented, and the staff we encountered on several occasions neglected to give proper instructions for medication, didn’t have the proper equipment in the office for the visit, set an appointment for the wrong day and honestly didn’t even seem to like cats or their job.

If you have cats, you want to bring them here. Dr. Hoyt and the rest of her team have provided care for five different cats for me over the years. Everyone is very kind and knowledgable. They helped me care for my diabetic cat, helped me find my lonely cat a buddy and deal with the ensuing adjustment period, helped my fat cat lose weight safely, and have generally helped me understand my cats better and care for them more effectively.
They are also excellent for end of life care, and although I hope I will not need this part of their service again for some time they are wonderful people to have guiding you when you have to make that decision.

We have been taking our cats to Dr. Hoyt since 1991, even before she set up this practice. It’s great going to a cat-​only practice, especially for the few times our cats have had to stay overnight after a procedure – no barking dogs on premises! Dr. Hoyt and the other vets who have worked with her over the years are all very knowledgeable, and have recommended appropriate care for each of our very different cats. We have had several of our cats go through surgery with Dr. Hoyt, which is one of her many strong points. She has navigated one of our cats having a previously unknown latex allergy, which required instant emergency steps post surgery to save her; another of our cats having one of the largest thyroid glands ever seen successfully removed from his throat; and another of our cats having emergency belly surgery after eating a long thread without our knowledge. This is all in addition to dental cleanings under anesthesia, which have all been handled fine, and ongoing medication supervision and monitoring of a heart murmur in various cats. Even needle-​phobic me was taught how to give sub-​cutaneous fluids to 2 of my cats whose kidneys were losing function, which bought them each another year or more. And Dr. Hoyt has come to our house to put one of our cats, who absolutely hated going to her office, to sleep, so that her last memories were of her home.

Very very nice vet — Dr. Hoyt. Other vets work there as well. They really care — kinda like Dr. Looby (See my review of Looby in Medford, MA). They’re very aware of alternative modalities, and have a good handle on what makes kitties tick (and what impedes them). Highly recommended. I have also gone to Brackett St. Vet. They are good, but the vet I prefer there seems to have left. My cat has LOTS of health issues, so I decided on a cat-​focused vet.
