Dr. Robbins is top notch. I traveled 9 hours to see him for endometriosis excision surgery. I had a complicated case and he provided me with the utmost in care. During my case review he demonstrated that he has very deep knowledge and understanding of my disease, provided me with his realistic predictions of how he could help me, and explained in depth the various outcomes of my upcoming surgery. In my preoperative appointment he was compassionate, careful and clear, taking all the time I needed to review my case notes and help me understand my disease and the treatment that he had planned. Through his explanations, he spoke to me respectfully and was never condescending. He even took time out of his busy day to provide sight-seeing suggestions to my family so that they wouldn’t sit restlessly in the waiting room during my long surgery. Before the surgery he was calm and reassuring to both me and my worried family members. Afterward, he clearly explained everything he had done during the surgery and what he expected my outcome to be. He provided me with his direct cell number and email address so that I could contact him quickly and directly if I had any concerns during my recovery. Once I was out of the hospital and recovering at my hotel, he visited me at my hotel room and painstakingly reviewed my operative reports and photographs, explaining clearly and in detail each task that he had performed during my surgery. I was a mess inside, but he managed to save one of my damaged ovaries and repair damage to my bladder caused by another doctor. I felt relief of my symptoms within days of surgery, and now 5 months post op I am a different, much healthier person. Many surgeons would have moved on at this point, but Dr. Robbins continues to be available whenever I have any questions or concerns regarding my health. He is: knowledgeable patient skilled compassionate accessible dedicated and clearly cares deeply about the health of his patients.

Dr. Robbins is the master of excising endometriosis. I was told by my previous surgeon and another ob/gyn that I would be stuck managing this disease with multiple surgeries, hormones, and an eventual hysterectomy, which is the traditional school of thought on this disease, so it was no surprise that they said that. Well, I flew from Michigan to Maine to have Dr. Robbins operate on me, and I have had no problems since then. NONE. Let me describe for a minute how bad my case was. I’d already had surgery one year prior by a local doctor who attempted to laser everything out. Within six months, it had all come back and was much worse. When Dr. Robbins operated on me, I had Stage IV endo with two large endometriomas on both ovaries, along with adhesions that caused my ovaries to be stuck to the back of my uterus. I also had adhesions growing in my abdominal cavity and tissues, my appendix(which had to come out), bladder, and part of my colon. He described it as «horribly aggressive.» Even with the severity of my case, I have had no problems since that surgery, and that was in 2008. I do not take any form of hormones(or anything else for that matter, besides a few vitamins) and I have all my organs. I have very minor pain for a day or two during my period that is easily remedied with a few Advils — not the huge doses of prescription painkillers that would only take the edge off before. He is also a humble man with a big heart. He genuinely cares about his patients, and it shows through his actions — follow-up phonecalls and other things that he went out of his way to do for me. His bedside manner is incredible and he will always follow through with his promises.

One of the top gynecologists in the country! No question about it. He’s the kind of doctor who has it all: great bedside manners, accurate diagnosis, highly skilled, and above all he’s got compasion in his heart. He diagnosed my endometriosis even though it was microscopic, and he used excellent excision skills to take it out. The result: quick recovery and acheived pregnancy after two years of trying everything. Dr. Robbins is my savior. He is the kind of doctor who will call you to see how you’re doing. I was out of town so he visited me all the way to my motel to do the post op appointment(and he did not even bill for that). Where can you find that nowadays? He is worth every penny I spent on travel! I went to see him all the way from San Diego, California. Do your body a favor and go see Dr. Robbins.
