I stand by my initial review, as it was reflective of my experience at the salon. However, I want to acknowledge that Gabriel, the owner, did reach out and offer me a credit for a cut in an attempt to rectify the situation. It’s a classy move and good customer service and they deserve recognition for that.

The professionals here are always pleasant and work like a real team and I come out looking and feeling amazing every time I go. Totally worth it.

Rubin has cut my hair 3 times now — he really listens to what is bothering you and what you want as well as how long you’re prepared to commit to styling.

Moved to the area in November and literally stumbled upon this place as it is a short walk from my home. From the time you walk in to the time you leave, the hospitality is top notch. I have been in the South for the last 18 years and got spoilt by the service down there. It is totally replicated by the staff at Numi. I love the various reminders. Only one time was there an issue with the wait and they did a phenomenal recovery. Finally, their «clean up» service, which is a quick (and free) trim between regular haircuts is very special. I have not yet taken advantage of it, but sounds terrific and commensurate with a 5-​rating.

I have curly which anyone who has it would know is an absolute pain to find a good haircut with. But I can walk in to Numi & not have to micromanage my haircut & it is a blessing. I’ve never had a bad haircut here, I’ve been going ever 3 months or so for almost 2 years.
I see Gabriel usually, who is the owner, and I’ve seen others too. It’s really great to be able to tell someone what you want in a haircut & for them to actually listen. Even better, that they bring up suggestions to go along with how you describe the style you want. I’ve never had to dictate a haircut here, I don’t need to learn all the fancy hairdressing terms, I just go in, tell them how I want it to look & we’re good. They don’t ever try to cut my hair how they want it to look, like some other salons will.
I’ve gone from super long to super short here. I chopped off 8 inches to donate with no issues. I even asked if there was a way to cut it so my curls were a bit looser… guess what? THERE IS! And they did it. Sometimes I’ll sit in the chair & my only instruction is I don’t wanna look like a poodle, they nail it every time.
The staff is super sweet & helpful. You can book appointments online with ease, even last minute they’ll get back to you. Parking is never a problem. Go if you can, you won’t regret it!

Friendly greeting when I arrived, then a good talk with Gabriel on what I needed. Beatrice provided a thorough wash, then Gabriel did an excellent job with the cut and style. Reasonable prices, pleasant atmosphere, and, best of all, a very good job on the cut!

I had the pleasure of having a haircut by Ali and have received so many compliments. She really takes the time to hear what you want. I really appreciate her feedback and suggestions on what would work well with my hairs natural texture its so helpful. Ali was very professional but also easy to talk to, she is really knowledgable and cares a lot about your expectations and making sure you’re happy and leave her chair looking awesome… which I did! I have never had such a perfect blow-​dry ever… I will be going back to do color with her (she is a stylist and colorist) I loved my experience at this friendly, chic salon and my service with Ali was amazing!

I had a very good experience with Numi after finding a groupon and scouting reviews on Unilocal.
When I called to schedule an appt, the receptionist was very friendly and got me in within a week; I did not sense any change in her demeanor when I mentioned that I was coming in via groupon.
Parking is on the street, without meter, and I found a spot quickly.
I arrived maybe 20 mins early to a very cute and clean salon. Again I was greeted very warmly. After quick paperwork I was taken back by the stylist probably 10 mins before scheduled start time. After a quick consultation, I was off for a wash and finally my trim. I was basically doing hair maintenance, nothing drastic, but the experience here was fun and friendly and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my hair since. My stylist was a lot of fun and easy to talk to, it was cool hearing about his experiences in Manhattan salons and about his road through his profession. Also, on the way out, I was given a gift certificate for my boyfriend and a coupon for my next visit. I will return!

Absolutely wonderful! The staff was friendly and welcoming and the haircut is my favorite yet. Everyone there left looking like a rockstar! Will definitely come back.

Just went to Gabriel for the first time. I have a very specific hair type and needed someone who simply «got it» in regards to what I asked for. Gabriel listened to me and we discussed in great detail what I needed done. He did the cut super fast which was great and went back in after drying it to cut and texturize. I was very impressed by his professionalism and skills and I will definitely be going back to see him again. I am so pleased with my results.

Took advantage of a Groupon offer and glad that I did. The service was great. When I got there I didn’t have to wait long before they finally took me. A beverage was immediately offered. Although the offer was for the cut and style I decided to take a chance and also do a color. I decided to go for an ombré and told the woman that was going to do my hair (I forget her name) that I specifically didn’t want the color to end up in the reddish brown family and more a caramel brown … When she was done I thought it looked great but when I left the salon, the color ended up looking more red when I walked out in the daylight. After a few washes it’s now looking a little brassy. Luckily I’ve had enough experience with dying my own hair and have gotten it professionally done enough times in my life to know how to fix it myself. She was very nice however and still did a pretty good job. After the color was done I got a cut (different girl). Nothing crazy just a trim but she suggested thinning my bangs a little and I loved it! My hair is super thick and pretty long and when it came to the blow dry the owner came to help her to speed up the process. I left loving the overall cut and blowdry and got a lot of compliments at work the next day.

When I moved from NYC last year I tried a number of different hair salons that just didn’t do it for me. Then I got pregnant, had my son, and my hair decided to take on a new reddish hue. Now I love a good redhead but mine was not fitting the bill. I went to Alison and she got my hair exactly where I wanted it, with both cut and color. Not only did I love it when I walked out of the salon, but both looked great until It was time for my next appointment (even though the falling out and then growing back in after baby!).
The staff has always been wonderful and I love going there. We’ve even made it a family affair with my mom and grandmother using Alison also.

I love Numi! I’ve been a client there for about 4 years. Gabriel is fantastic. He is an attentive, creative, wonderful stylist. He gives an amazing cut, and his blow outs are among the best I’ve ever had. The salon is small, but beautiful and clean. The staff is attentive and helpful. They are reasonably priced, for a high end salon in this area. I’ve even got my husband going there now!

I am thoroughly impressed with Gabriel and Numi salon. From the moment you enter the door you feel welcomed. Everyone from the receptionist to the hair washer has such a positive attitude. Gabriel gives me consistent cuts and is a pleasure to talk to. I can’t recommend this salon enough! A+

I went here with a Groupon and have to say this place was BAD. I do not know why they have the deal when they seem to not want people to use it. I have been getting my hair blown out for years now, and was told that the only way my hair would not be frizzy would be to straight iron it for an additional $ 15! Usually my hair stylists blow out my hair beautifully without a straight iron, so s straight iron was not necessary. Like I said I’ve had blow outs my whole life and have never received such RUDE treatment and poor service. Maybe I would have been treated differently had I not used a groupon, but if you are considering the deal – beware.

Been going to Gabriel since 2007. Always get complimented on my cuts by friends and always leave feeling great about myself for whatever parties or events I need to attend.

I have been going to Gabriel for my cuts since he was at Static (over 4 years!), and gladly followed him when he opened up Numi. The salon is very clean and calming, making it a very enjoyable experience. Both locations have the same ambiance, and I will be a customer for life. Every time I get my hair cut I get a ton of compliments, and I get my hair colored there as well. I have a friend who drives all the way down from Fairfield, CT because no one cuts her hair as well as Gabriel!

I too purchased the Groupon, but I never redeemed it (I became pregnant and decided that the Keratin treatment would not be a good idea). I did call and ask if I could use it at a later date– they gave me a curt «no.» Then I offered the deal to my friend, but when she called to make an appointment, was told that all the Keratin appointments «had been filled» and that Groupon would deal with a refund.
When I called Groupon, they said that the general policy is for businesses to honor Groupons as long as the appointment is made before the expiration date, and they were sorry that this salon was not adhering to that principle. At least Groupon gave me a credit…
I maybe would have tried this salon out because it is in the neighborhood, but it is obviously not interested in customer satisfaction. I’d give it 0 stars if I could.

I bought the groupon for the keratin treatment. I was completely unhappy with the result. The frizz was still there but my hair was a little softer. I called them a few days later and complained about not being satisfied. They were nice enough to give me another treatment for no additional charge. The result was way better the second time around. I was not thrilled but it was better than the first time.

I too bought a groupon for the keratin treatment and Numi and Company, but unfortunately I was completely dissatisfied with the results. My hair is only slightly less frizzy and I am left still having to straighten in daily. Although it may be a little softer and a little less frizzy, the results are marginal. Definitely NOT worth the money. You could probably experience the same results with a good quality conditioner.
