Advanced Endocrinology

I went to this place years ago for help in hormonal problems I am still experiencing today. First of all, I had to argue with my general practitioner just to get a referral to see an endocrinologist! When I first went in, the woman at the front desk was nice and courteous. However, I realized I had forgotten my insurance card at home. I informed her that I had insurance, but the card wasn’t on me at the time. I vowed to return the next day with the card as proof. As I was waiting, the same woman was telling me stories about how some people would lie and say they had insurance when they really didn’t. I kept smiling, but I was thinking, «Is she telling me all this to imply that she thinks I am lying to her?» Anyway, it was my turn after a short wait. The doctor appeared to listen intently to my concerns about my internal problems. I very briefly told her about my external symptoms. During the middle of my talk with the doctor, the woman from the front desk needed to speak to the doctor. When the doctor returned, she basically rushed me out. When she gave me her prescription script for tests I needed to undergo, all the trivial external symptoms were listed while my internal symptoms I thoroughly explained about were not. Boy, did that upset me! I had spent so much time talking to her about my internal symptoms for a reason! Then when I asked her about where I could possibly go to take these tests, she answered in a condescending manner about how my insurance would indicate where. I have a feeling the woman from the front desk said something about how she assumed I didn’t have insurance. To add insult to injury, I did in fact return the following day to give them my insurance card. I paid that day for my copay and got a receipt that I saved. Months later, I got a letter stating I didn’t pay my copay! I paid them in check as well because i couldn’t find my receipt at that time. What do I find today? My receipt from the day I originally paid in their office! I got charged twice for service I wasn’t satisfied with. The amount i personally paid wasn’t much at all, but the whole experience was very dissatisfying.
