I have to tell you how unhappy I am with the service at this location. The woman behind the counter is very rude, and they ruined my shirt and cardigan sweaters. I much prefer going to Farmgate just a short half mile down the street and pay 5 cents more for service then go back to this place.

I have used the dry cleaning services before and always been happy. During a recent visit however, I brought in an item to have a zipper sewed in. I was quoted an amount, agreed to it and told to come back in 5 days. When I picked up the item, the zipper was clearly not sewed in correctly. I questioned the service and was told that it couldn’t be repaired. No refund, no apology.

I live in Schaumburg and have done business here before. I have two coats that I’m having cleaned-and will update this review when I get them. But I wouldn’t have gone back if I didn’t feel that I had a good reason.

My experience there, is that any time I come in, the women behind the counter is always rude. She is too busy talking with the people in the back, rather than focus on talking to the customer. She never greets, or the very least thanks you for coming in. They feel obligated to to help you. I remember coming in one time to ask if they price matched other dry cleaners, just to see what they said. This person almost bit my head off. I think honestly, you are better off not going to this place even though it’s $ 2.99. They don’t even get all the stains out. Trust me as I say this, please go somewhere else.

OK, this place is my hidden secret so it pains me to share it with others. However, in this tough economy, I guess it’s better to have it be super busy then for it to end up closing. Dryclean World, in the past, has always done a great job drycleaning my stuff and has never messed anything up. I can’t say the same for other places I’ve used. I haven’t brought anything there to clean in a while because, as we suffer this tough economy, I don’t buy things that have to be drycleaned anymore. I buy cheap clothes and wash everything. For that once in while nice suit or coat, I still trek all the way to the burbs to use them. ADDITIONALLY, they have a little lady who does alterations for a really fair price. She is so cute and really nice. I think she gets a kick out of me because when I make my big trip to Schaumburg, I always bring her 10 things so I think she likes me because I give her a lot of business. She charges $ 5-$ 8 for each item, depending on how complicated it is. For example, I had bought a pretty cool pair of $ 14.99 jeans at a discount store but the zipper was broken. She charged me $ 10 to replace the whole zipper. Hey, that makes the jeans $ 24.99, but I really liked them so that was worth it(and still cheap jeans by many people’s standards!) If you have a fear of people jackin’ up your stuff(which, admittedly, I do), this is a great place. Plus, there are so many other cool places in Schaumburg, you can make it a whole day –hit the mall, the library, IKEA etc.
