FireZone

We had our son’s 3^rd birthday party and it was more than I could have expected. Our party ranged from 1 year olds to 8 year olds and there was something for everyone. Our fireman host was great with the kids, patient yet was able to keep them focused for the program part. He seemed to sense when they were ready to run free and play. The facility was awesome and having the whole place to ourselves really made it more enjoyable. We had a decent number of adults there, so having tables in the actual play area was nice for them. We opted to pay for the extra half hour and are so glad we did. The kids were done playing and ready to eat right as that time came. We got the pasta, salad and garlic bread package (plus pizza) for the adults and it was really good. I wasn’t expecting much, but it was catered from outside and the pizza was as good as any place I’ve ordered from. The 3D cake was great and my son just loved the whole experience. Since we did the upgraded package and the extra half hour, it was definitely more expensive than a bounce place, BUT you get WAY more for your money. They talked about fire safety through the whole program, and I thought it was good that they emphasized how you should NEVER hide in a fire. Everyone we worked with there was helpful and kind, from the folks I booked with over the phone, to the fireman and workers, to the guy checking me out. Great place!

Best party ever! My twin boys had their fourth birthday party here today and it was awesome! We had kids at the party ranging in ages of 2 to 10 and every child loved it. It was educational and fun the kids had a blast. Everything was well organized and they kept the kids attention the whole time. My boys loved fireman Ryan. He was so patient with all of the kids (they are an energetic bunch) ;). We also ordered extra food for the adults with the Italian beef package and pizza and all the food was really good. My boys really loved the firetruck cake that came with our package. All in all it was an awesome party. I love that they handled everything and you could just walk in and not have to worry about anything including favors, cake, and food. We will definitely be coming back again!

We had our three year old birthday party here and it was really a good experience. They had a nice presentation with daddy (or guest) dressed in full turn-​out gear so kids could see what a fireman looks like up close. Then they got free play for a while which included dress-​up gear. Then they got to go into the smoking building which seemed to be a hit with everyone except the scared birthday boy. The party room was nice and the cupcake cake they provided was more than adequate decorated with flames and our sons name.
I think this many 3 year olds was a little much at one time, but overall we though the experience was very unique and my son loved his fireman party.

As a police officer, I love when kids can have fun experiences with emergency responders. So many times, when children see police officers or fire fighters, it’s because something bad has happened. A fire or accident has occurred, a loved one is ill, or a crime has been committed. This can result in kids developing a negative attitude towards emergency responders. The guys at Fire Zone do an awesome job of not only teaching kids about fire safety and emergency preparedness, but they genuinely make it very fun for the kids!
I took my nieces, ages 5 & 7, and they had a blast! There was plenty of activities for them to get into, and we were there for a couple of hours with them playing nonstop! This place is definitely a win, and I hope every kid gets to go!

I took my students here for a field trip and everything was amazing. My students are in a self contained classroom for special needs and Fire Zone was very accommodating! They talked to us about fire safety and the kids got to see a fireman suit up. Exposing them to firemen in full gear is extremely important. In case of emergency kids need to know firemen are there to help and they shouldn’t hide!
The kids really enjoyed the play area. It was a great time for students and teachers alike! Chris was amazing with our students! We were also able to eat our lunches at Fire Zone which the kids enjoyed and it helped with the timing of our field trip.
One star off because it is a bit pricey and the informational video in the beginning was pretty dated (and lame). They did give us coupons for the kids to return with their families though.
Our students loved the trip and we will definitely be returning!

My son and his friends thoroughly enjoyed his birthday party here! The firemen were all great and very helpful. The party was was a good size and there is plenty for them to do! The only thing I would recommend is to extend the time in the party room… 30 min just isn’t enough for pizza, cake and presents… Very rushed at end.

Landmark review:
This is a great hidden gem in the Northwest suburbs. It’s great for kids of all ages except for toddlers. Your kid can play make believe and be a firefighter for the day. Although they have very limited open play hours most of time their businesses just open for birthday party. Kids can play on the fire truck slide down the fire pole interact act with the show and tell of fire fighting equipment and even save someone from a burning building. The attraction areas not large but it is quite adequate for the little ones. There is even an ambulance bay where they can pretend to move a burn victim. Overall for this price you can’t beat this experience.
Hidden deals: Please purchase the Unilocal deal which is nine dollars for $ 18 worth. When you buy a children’s admission which is nine dollars you get one free adult admission otherwise an additional adult is four dollars. I didn’t look into their party packages but I think kids would have a lot of fun

This place is great for a kids’ birthday party. I love the concept. The host was really nice and the kids had fun and they seemed to learn something too. The place was clean and the eating room was roomy and clean as well. It’s in an obscure part of Schaumburg, but if you have a child that loves fire trucks, this is definitely the place to have a birthday party!

I’d love to be able to review the place itself but it appears we won’t actually get to experience it.
I bought three tickets via Radio Shopping Show as a gift for a friend. The description sounded wonderful, like it would be quite a bit of fun for the wee one. Unfortunately we weren’t able to get to the point of using the certificates I’d bought until they had almost expired because, coincidentally, there was a fire in my apartment building that sort of left our life a bit topsy-​turvy for a while.
So fast forward to this weekend, when my friend and I are trying to plan a day here before the certificates expire. I’m on their website trying to figure out when they open, only to find out that, well… they aren’t. Not exactly. Turns out, they only do «drop in» Wednesdays and Fridays in the late morning/​early afternoon, when, you know, people are at work, earning a living. Even more strangely, those dates are only during the school year. It advertises that there are other drop-​in days in the calendar, but I couldn’t find any. So I guess buyer beware. Unless you’re specifically planning a party, your options are very limited.
So I guess I just donated whatever the cost of the three tickets was to them. Hope they put it to good use.

My boys and I are huge fans of Firezone. We have been here several times and every single time it is an absolute blast. This is the perfect winter or rainy day activity with plenty to do. They even have real firemen that demonstrate how they put on their uniforms. They do have limited hours so make sure they are open before you go but it is well worth the drive.

My nephew who’s 4 was in from out of town I was told that this place closes at 3 pm on Sunday’s so I took him here to find out they were closed, and had a kids birthday party going on. The guys working there were very friendly and allowed us to take a tour of the facility, trucks, houses etc which was awesome! My nephew had fun, I bought some souvenirs for him to remember! Thanks guys for doing this for us! It was worth it! I’d bring my nephews back for the real event next time!

We had fun for 3 hours. I don’t understand all the hard to please people leaving bad reviews? The place is clean, fun and if I could rate the receptionist who checked us in it would be with10 stars! This place is a playroom theamed with fire and rescue.
Things to do:
Dress up as a fireman.
Explore the burning house and rescue the sleeping «boy doll» from the fire by pretending to extinguish the house with a real fire hose.
Explore the Ambulance.
Explore the Burning House with a tunnel and slide.
Put on Life jackets and play on the fire and rescue boat.
Have a snack at their cafeteria with complimentary coffee for parents.
Color a picture at their coloring table.
Explore the Firetruck.
Slide down the fire pole.
Sit down for storytime.
Interact with ladder and tool bench.
The only suggestion to make this place better would be to put up museum-​type interactive activities on the walls for kids to explore and play with.

Thanks so much for a great party! It was very interactive and dan our fire fighter was wonderful. All the parents and kids were raving about how much fun their kids had! It was so nice to do something different for a party. My son who is 3 had a ball and even my 6 yr old nephew loved it!!! Thanks! I highly recommend throwing a bday here.

I just left my son’s 4^th birthday party which we decided to have at FireZone. I have never been here before, and honestly had no idea what to expect.
It was such a neat place and I couldn’t have been happier with our choice. It’s so hard to find unique ideas for kid’s parties and this one was really a hit; I mean, how many times can you go to Chuck E Cheese’s?
The kids enjoyed dressing up like fire fighters and going down the fire pole, and had a blast saving «Little Timmy». I would definitely recommend checking this place out for a kid’s birthday party, it truly was a unique experience. Price was fairly reasonable and I don’t feel ripped off in the slightest (which is kind of rare for me when it comes to entertainment for kids).

We had our sons 4^th birthday here and everything was great. I really liked how the party was interactive and all the kids were engaged. Highly recommend it as an alternative to jumping places and arcades.

I gave the visit as a gift to my friend and her 2 daughters (3 and 1 year old). The 4 of us went together and had a blast. They have a firetruck and ambulance in a warehouse like setting. They give the kids little fireman jackets. They can run around without their parents having to worry. It is only $ 9.00 for kids over 2 years and adults are free. Definitely a great alternative to the more expensive kid attractions in the area.

My daughter and I went there today as drop-​ins with no membership. We arrived at 10am. The place is in the business district of Schaumburg just a little bit north of Golf Road. I had no idea what this place would look like considering what all the other buildings looked like in the immediate vicinity of FireZone. Ah – but we did find it – flanked by a coffee distributor on one side and derelict fire trucks on the other.
Signs are posted for no outside food or drink allowed. So make sure your family remembers that before you decide to go and plan accordingly. There are so many nutritious alternate places to eat nearby like Noodles & Company or Roti Mediterranean Grill that eating FireZone’s offerings should be your Plan B or C at best.
I paid over $ 9.00 for myself. My two and a half year old was free. The cashier asked if I wanted to have my receipt texted or e-​mailed to me. So this means I would have to either give my e-​mail (which means more spam) or my phone number (which means marketing calls or unwanted texts). I asked if I could have a paper receipt and she said they do not do that. So I declined a receipt. She made me «sign in» on an iPad while telling me I did not have to complete all the fields, just my name and zip code. I reviewed the form and the very first field is mandatory again asking for my e-​mail address. I gave a throw-​away e-​mail address, my name and zip code.
I was told to walk further down and then make a right. We did and we walked by cafeteria style chairs and tables. All of it looked clean and tidy.
Then it was downhill from there.
As we entered the main gallery it had one mock-​up of a fire truck to the left, a fake burnt house to the right guarded by a caricature statue of a fireman holding a hose; a mock-​up of an ambulance was to the left of the burnt house. Looking straight ahead was a short house. Its window had a fake orange billowing flame like the kind you would see in a haunted house. Underneath this house was a small short tunnel children could crawl through. On the back side was a ramp that led up to an entrance where only children could enter. This small entrance led to a short slide down to the front of the house. Also on the backside is this aluminum ladder that made plenty of noise as parents and caretakers would yank on the rope to try and make the ladder double in length. To the right of the house was a small black and decker toy work bench with toy tools.
The entire area is flooded with the din of pre-​recorded radio chatter of firemen. The firemen we did see in the area were chatting with each other and had begun to walk away out of sight by the time we got near them.
The mock-​up fire truck:
10 minutes. Perhaps even less, with some time in the front and some time in the rear. In the rear had some antiquated levers and switches. No lights, no placards, nothing educational. No interaction. She wanted down from there so we sat up front. The driver’s seat is very high with no ramp so you’ll have to strictly watch your child climb onto the seat or help them on or else they may tumble out and onto the concrete floor. No sounds, no lights, nothing instructional. No fun.
The fake burnt house:
4 minutes. It was spray painted with fake burn marks on its outside. On the inside it is pitch black save for some dim light coming in the window. The house had a children’s bed and dresser. On the opposite wall was this small screen showing a video of flames. The pre-​recorded audio was of the firemen doing their firemen chatter. Again, no instructions, nothing educational, nothing interactive. No fun. My daughter asked me what this place was and I tried my best to come up with an answer.
The ambulance:
2 minutes. Most of the time spent was trying to climb up the steps of the side of the ambulance. Again, take careful watch or help your kids up because it uses tall steps. The ambulance had nothing interactive, fun or educational. Big deal, we can sit in it, so what?
There was another video screen on the wall behind the ambulance. It showed pictures of ambulances and fire trucks. Its audio was of even more firemen talking. Loudly.
Toy workbench:
2 minutes.
The short house with built-​in slide:
5 minutes. She did not want to crawl through the tunnel. She did not want to go inside by herself to go down the slide. We stood in front of the house and tried to watch for children coming down the slide. This house is supposed to be the fun part I guess because FireZone again knew enough not to post anything fun or educational.
The only signs you’ll see are for membership and that no outside food or drink is allowed. We left in under half an hour. As I left, I told the cashier that the place is c r a p.

I had my son’s fourth birthday at FireZone this weekend. It was a big hit! The staff members were great, very friendly and engaging with the kids, and they made my son feel extra special for this birthday. And, they literally did everything for me!
The parties start out in the party room and they will get out puzzles and crayons while you wait for all the kids to arrive. Then the (real) fireman takes the kids out into the play area to give them a demonstration. The birthday kid gets a special Fire Chief helmet and is made chief for the day. They really play it up and it’s very cute. The kids get suited up in fire jackets and helmets. The fireman goes over fire safety and all the gear the firemen wear, which is great b/​c it helps kids understand what they will look like suited up and not to hide from them in a real fire. After the chat they will show them around the play area. They slide down a fire pole, take a group photo by the fire truck, and then rescue «Timmy» from his smoke filled bedroom and load him on the ambulance. Overall the formal presentation part lasted about 20 minutes and the kids were definitely itching to go play but they managed! After that they let the kids loose and they were able to play for about 45 minutes on the various structures — firetruck, ambulance, Timmy’s house, Firehouse (slide, tunnels, etc.). Finally we headed back into the party room for cake and juice. You can add on additional food for kids and/​or parents but since I did the 10 – 11:30 party I opted not to. They did provide (for no charge) water and coffee for the parents which was a nice touch! At the end if there is time they will let the kids go back out to play for a couple minutes. As the kids leave they give them a coloring book and fire badge sticker to take home, as well as their helmets. They bagged up all the presents (which the party host collected at the door as the kids arrived) and boxed up leftover cake for us to take with. It was so easy!
Some reviewers mentioned not being happy with the cake but really I thought it was fine. I’m sure they get them from a local bakery. The standard package includes cupcakes, which are fashioned into one of those cupcake cakes that looks like flames. They included candles and everything (in our case, a four shaped candle and four single candles as well). I took a bite of my younger son’s cupcake and it tasted good to me.
All the parents commented on how fun the party was and how nice it was to do something different for a change (i.e. not JumpZone!). If I had one criticism it would be the price, but, I was able to snag a Groupon for my party so it turned out to be reasonable for me. It does include everything — location rental, party hosts, cake, juice, tableware, party favors — so it’s not a bad deal overall and so easy to plan and host!

Had a 4 year old bday here. Guests were 18 months to 6 years and they all had a great time. Staff was very friendly and kept kids entertained.
You have to buy all food from them. This is where they lose a star. I wish I could have brought in box of joe from DD or something. Their food choices are not great and they are overpriced. Cupcakes they provided were good– I didn’t mind buying those from them. Maybe they could buy the coffee and bagels from DD or something and tack on 15% for convenience fee?

Went to a 4 year old birthday party here and it was awesome! It really gives kids the experience that I think makes them feel like real little fire people. The birthday person is treated special while everyone else has a blast!
