History

Established in 1990.

K&S General Contracting, Inc. has a rich and determined history. Steve Bollinger, Owner, started our company by walking local neighborhoods and passing out flyers. Not only was he advertising in the early days, but was also on the roofs, swinging a hammer himself. The company at that time was called Shingles Roofing.

A lot has changed. Steve is no longer swinging the hammer on roofs. Katie, his wife, quit her job and became the full-​time Office Manager. And recently, Thomas, their only son, has come on board to help with Sales and Marketing.

Now, 24 years later, Steve has expanded our small roofing business into K&S General Contracting, Inc. With a greater focus on all exterior home modifications, operating several work crews, and reaching out into additional neighborhoods, we continue to offer the same superior customer service and high-​end workmanship that has defined our reputation.

Business Owner

Steve learned the roofing trade in Chicago in the late 1970’s. It wouldn’t be for another decade until he put these skills to full-​time use. Leaving his job as a Manufacturing Engineer in the late 1980s, Steve founded Shingles Roofing, singularly taking on the responsibility of selling and installing the roofs. Since that time, Shingles Roofing has grown into K&S General Contracting, Inc. Under the leadership of Steve, he has developed the values that have made K&S General Contracting successful.
