I LOVENY&CO! Although this location has never had great service… a few weeks ago was the worst, which is why I shop online first then try to find the items in the store. After my last visit I suggest others to do the same since customer service is lacking for the most part at this location! Two weeks ago I came in expecting to spend $ 150 – 200 after my coupon and their buy 2 get 1 sale. I wasn’t greeted by anyone and it looked like the staff was standing/not working while chit chatting in the middle about some girls’ boyfriend and why they broke up and how it all went down on facebook, etc. I knew a lot about their conversation since while looking for particular shirts I saw online that I really wanted I had past the group of young girls, 25−30yrs old, about 5 times. Still no greeting or questions if anyone could help me. While passing I realized that only one worked for NY& Co and there was a cashier in the back busy running the register. I found most of my stuff then headed to the fitting room, heard the cashier ask customers near me if they needed other sizes to let her know. When I finished trying things on I went out to switch a few items, passing the group of girls still chatting(45 mins past when I first walked in). I couldn’t find one shirt I Really wanted yet decided that after 45 mins of the girl not asking if she could help I’d just take what I had in my arms(10 items or so)…Figured the cashier who was an older lady was the manager and I’d complain to her once I checked out since she seemed too busy with customers at that moment. When I checked out I asked the cashier about a shirt I was looking for, she said«hold on let me ask the manager she’d know better», and walked to the group of girls. I was Shocked that the manager was the one chit chatting and never asking me if I needed help for over 50mins! This cashier clearly cared much more about customers than the manager. I know it was a Tuesday night yet there were about 5 – 10 customers constantly in the store while I was there! I ended up spending $ 150 after my coupons, so I bought about $ 350 – 400 worth of items… no small order and any manager in their right mind would see that I was not a normal«walk in» customer that they could ignore. You should Fire this manager and Promote the cashier to manager!

My wife likes shopping here, obviously I don’t wear the clothes, so I can’t comment on that. I will say that the customer service the last time we were here was pretty lousy. The line had reached out 5 customers, and the lone cashier was struggling. The two«relief» employees were just standing in the middle of the store, looking at the growing line and chatting away.

I abhor the mall, which is why I made my friend Kelly promise that we wouldn’t have to walk too far into it to get to this place. It is close to an entrance, by JC Penney. I haven’t been in one of these stores since I think it was Lerner, but my company recently went BUSINESSCASUAL(the capitals are to emphasize the doomsday feeling that gave me) and I was assured that I could buy a wardrobe here without spending a crapload on clothes I’m only required to wear 24 or so hours a week. So I’m browsing, I’m browsing. I have so many shirts and pants slung over my arm that my hand is turning red and has its own heartbeat. Things are looking good, everything is on sale and everything fits well. Yay! This place is really gunning for 4 – 5 stars! Then…the line to checkout. Half an hour, no exaggeration. Now my entire arm has turned purple and has started to fall asleep. At one point an irate customer started yelling at the checkout woman about the line and I got kind of irritated. I mean, what do you want her to do, crap out another associate? But I digress. In any case, I finally got out the door with a weeks worth of clothing for about $ 150 and a 30% off coupon for next time. I’ll go back(to use my coupon, of course) and bump it up a star if the line is not so horrendous then. Update: The line was tolerable, but this time I got a very hard sell for the credit card. I said no(I counted) 5 times. Next time I will just say ‘NONONONONO and that’s my final answer’ and see what that does. I’ve heard it sometimes works on telemarketers too.
