The pictures from our wedding came out well, and Paul’s price was reasonable. However, we encountered many problems. Here are the main ones:
1. He lacks attention to detail. He needs a business manager. His contract was filled with spelling errors and inaccurate information, and we had to make him redo it twice. He did not respond to e-​mails unless within 5 minutes of sending. He always seemed really frantic and absent-​minded — not professional.
2. He has the photography down to a formula — almost everything was a canned, posed shot. You will have to speak up with ideas if you want anything creative.
3. He dropped the ball on securing a photo booth for us as agreed — we ended up doing it ourselves.
4. He complained incessantly about the traffic and congestion in Chicago, even though we paid him an extra $ 500 to come downtown.
5. Friends and family can buy his photos through
. In order to simply view them through the site, you have to register your e-​mail with pictage. And then you will receive literally one e-​mail a day inviting you to buy photos. I am horrified that all our friends and family who simply wanted to see the photos got spammed. I wish I’d never even sent the link.
7. He had to resend the video 4 times because of obvious problems: i.e. disc 2 was identical to disc 1, the disc was blank, the wrong last name appeared on the welcome screen (!), and some dancing footage was rerun, apparently to fill space, as if we wouldn’t notice. You might expect Paul to have sent some free prints or given us a discount in some way as a result, but he seemed to be unconcerned that there were so many mistakes.
