Pump It Up of Schaumburg

I do like it here but I have complaints as well. I still give it a pretty decent rating because the complaints are adult not kid.
My kid loves this place, it’s big enough so that kids aren’t waiting around to jump on the toys and they are big enough that adults can get in too. It’s clean in the play area as well as the bathrooms. The staff was superb during our recent 5 year-old’s birthday party — make sure you tip them well, they deserve it ! They ordered pizza from Papa John’s which I don’t personally like because it’s not good pizza but it’s for kids so it’s not as though I would spend $ 25 a pizza anyway, they’ll eat anything! We brought our own cake/​cupcakes and they served it all up for us. The liked the party favors too, they had a balloon for each kid and I picked their water bottle favor instead of the usual crap toys in a bag most places give out.
Now for the bad part, it’s freaking freezing as an ice box in here in the winter. They only open up for 2 hour stints and due to the hazard of children in the same room with the big heaters they can’t have the heat on while the kids are running around or some thing like that. Well in the winter the staff gets there just before they open so the play rooms are frigid, so bring you coat in with you. FYI the temperature for my son’s party, which was in February was fine — but I knew this already and picked a time in the middle of the day.
Long story short, the kid loves it, it’s clean, the staff is really nice, parking is easy and if you get the multi-​visit passes it’s not too expensive (about $ 5 /​visit)

Been here for a few birthday parties and after some reviews, I decided to host my son’s birthday party here.
1. Hosting a birthday party on the weekday mornings is the cheapest you will get but hosting on the weekends are all that bad either.
2. All birthday parties are private.
3. The party rooms are pretty spacious (I fit about 60 people in the room, some people were sitting on the floor but it worked). The party room does have picnic style tables and one really gross high chair so please do keep that in mind. My son did fall off the bench and hurt his head (thank goodness he didn’t crack his head open at his own party).
4. There are 2 rooms you go through during the play time. Both rooms have inflatable bouncers but the second room also has a climbing wall for older children.
5. They take photos for your party to post in the party room as a party extra. You do not have to pay for this to be done. You DO have to pay for you to have access to those photos after the party.
6. You cannot bring your own food platters anymore (you used to be able to bring anything to add on to the pizza but this is not the case). You can order papa johns or unos as the extra pizzas for adults and extra children. You can bring in dried foods (chips, goldfish, pretzels, etc.) and anything to accompany it (salsa, hummus, dips).
7. You have to pay for waters and juice boxes. You can’t bring any beverages on your own but if you order 10 waters and only 4 were used, you only pay for the 4.
8. You can bring your own cake or cupcakes.
We had 30 children and about 30 adults and although the second room seemed a bit crowded, the first room was nice and spacious. It was an easy party and would recommend others to do it if they want to wear their children out. It was definitely worth the money to see my son so happy.

I would not recommend this place to a parent throwing a party. We just had our twins party there and it was not worth the money. Our party started late, it was supposed to start at 5:45, but didn’t start with the video until after 6, due to a problem in the play area, so our time was cut in the bouncy rooms to about 40 minutes. Then we were served horrible pizza, it was cardboard with some cheese (no sauce). We were in a room from 6:50ish to 7:45 eating and playing games like four corners. We paid over $ 300 for this? The guy we had was nice and did his best. The girl at the front counter was nice, but really unorganized. I ordered the party favors (the $ 3.95 ones) and of course they were not supplied, because they were on the screen but not on the print-​out. Which makes no sense.
The worst thing was that a little girl that was invited was sent to a different party that started at 5:15 with the same name as our daughter, even after the parent showed the invitiation to the person at the front desk. The parent explained that our party started at 5:45, the invitation had our party time on it, but the person didn’t even check, just sent this girl to a party where she knew no one. Another problem was one of the gifts for my daughter was put in the wrong bin, with a completely different boys name, so we had to chase that down as well. It was really frustrating and I will not ever spend my money here. I would have complained the day of the party and ask for a refund of some sort, but didn’t want to cause a scene in front of my kids and ruin their party more.

Had my one of my daughters bday party there. We were rushed trough the whole bday. I am not sure if I will do it again. Location is good. Staff is friendly. No tables so you can sit and watch the kids while playing. For the $$ they ask, it should be 3hrs long.

We attended a 4 year old birthday party here. It was a very enjoyable experience. The first half was spent in a medium sized room with a few giant bouncy houses consisting of obstacles and slides. There are mirrors on the walls to help you locate your child if you don’t want to go in with them. And there is a fun cyclone wind tunnel booth at the front door.
During the second half, we switched to the room next door. I suppose having both rooms open at the same time would make it harder to keep track of your little one. Also, it allows the business to simultaneously throw two parties at the same time. The second room had some more bouncy play areas as well as a rock climbing wall. That was nice and good to take advantage of because they are usually pricey to try out. Sadly, by the time I mustered up the courage to go our time was up. Oh well, next time.
The place was clean and Has water stations in both rooms. The staff was friendly, nice and offered hand sanitizer frequently.
The party room has a giant inflatable throne for the birthday boy or girl. I thought that was really cute, especially for pictures.
The one thing I would recommend them to add is a baby matted area for the little ones to crawl around in. Other than that it was a great experience.

Its a great place for a kid to have fun for an hour. Groupon always has a deal for $ 4 a stop. Every 1^st and 3^rd Friday they offer Parents Night out for $ 15. We just did Valentines Day Night Out for $ 15 and my daughter loved it. It gave us 3 hours to have a night and my daughter had fun with others her own age. We haven’t had a party here yet so I can speak on that but open play and night outs are a great price.

We just had my daughter’s 1^st birthday party there, it was a larger party with about 40 people total. When we arrived we were greeted very promptly by a young man who was very personable, I believe he was the front desk supervisor. He told me who was taking care of our party and got us set up with our room, overall my first impression was great. When we were jumping I did notice it was very warm in there, like other people have commented the place did look a little run down, but the kids didn’t care and had a blast. Fast forward to us going to our party room, this is where it all went down hill and why I gave only 2 stars. For starters we were already 5min. behind schedule getting into our room, due to the room not being ready. While the kids were jumping I requested several times to go into the room personally to make sure everything thing was set up properly. (I had my own theme and brought my own decorations). I was assured not only during setting the reservation but also at check in that this wouldn’t be a problem. I was brought back about 3 min before everyone else and the place looked horrible, you could tell they rushed to set up. plates and hats thrown around, centerpieces colapsing. As I hurried to get the room in order they brought everyone back and I realized we were a table short for my guests (per my request at reservation). I mentioned this to my host and she replied that it had been broken in the last party. I told here my guests needed a place to sit and eat, so she and the other host left with zero communication on what was going on. Ten minutes went by with no host in the room. My pizza has been sitting there, and I had hungry antsy kids, not to mention a bunch of adults standing around because they have no seats, it was chaos! I finally left the room to find someone and they brought another table in. By this time I was embarrassed for having my guests be treated like this, my sis and sis in law started opening the pizzas to serve the kids and I went to talk to the supervisor. The main issue I had was that no one took charge of the situation, things happen and I get that, but both «hosts» in my room had no idea what they were doing, no communication or interaction what so ever they seemed young (teenagers) and very inexperienced. I had pizza, salad and a fruit tray they never put out any utensils to eat salad and I had to ask them several times to get the kids thier drinks half way through their pizza. After pizza they rushed us to do cake, which I thought was ridiculous considering they delayed my party by about 20 min. My biggest disappointment of the day was when we started to sing happy birthday the host turned off the lights, my husband was recording it at the same time, we played the video but after the lights go out you can’t see anything. In the end they did give me a discount, and 3 free passes to come back, unfortunately those are useless to me since they will not be getting my business again.

I only came here because they were the only place with open jump late. The location is hidden so, if you don’t know exactly where you’re going you’ll definitely pass it. The staff seems not very caring like it’s just a paycheck to them. They’re not very inviting. The place walking in is very dirty. You can tell they have not vacuumed in awhile. The equipment is dusty like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. The price is decent. I will only come back if it’s my last choice as far as where to bring my child last minute on my day off.

Yuck. Just came back from some sort of «Holly Jolly» party that was a total waste of money. It had laser lights and glow sticks, plus pizza and a drink (that we did not stay for). It was too dark and loud for my 4 year old to handle, and while my seven year old tried to make the most of it, he too was bored after a short time. It was very dark and they had a hard time climbing up on the structures because they couldn’t see where to put their feet.
But the biggest detractor was the 6 or 7 staff members that were employed to stand around in the two rooms. I’m guessing they staff up these events so that their employees could help by engaging the kids and facilitating play? Of not, I am hard pressed to figure out why the staff outnumbered us 2:1. But in this case, it was just a bunch of 19 or 20 year olds standing around yawning and looking like they just woke up (It was 10:45), checking their phones or looking at how their manicures lit up in the black lights. And there was an obligatory Santa, who was also just a young girl shuffling around in the costume, with the beard hanging around off of her face. She would occasionally climb in one of the structures while my kids were in there. But she didn’t talk and just sort of half-​assed jumped up and down a few times. Both of my kids would just stare at her for a minute, not sure what to make of her.
The manager was there too-​you would think his presence would motivate the staff to look like they cared. But nope, it was pretty obvious this was the acceptable level of enthusiasm and effort he expects from his staff.
The whole vibe was so broken down, my kids were begging to leave after 20 minutes. Not recommended. Both of my kids said they would never want to go back there. And that says a lot.

Surprisingly well run, well organized, and fun for the kids.
We were part of a birthday party’s for a six year old. Seventeen plus kids, a gaggle of parents, and us an aunt and uncle along for the fun. We arrived with the birthday boy, his parents, and little sister. We were early because the birthday boy comes with allergies and his parents wanted to make sure all was in order and safe. Any parent of a child with allergies understands that food is critical so being able to bring your own food into Pump It Up Play Zone is a big plus. There are limits to what you can bring in. You can bring in desserts and beverages. They will provide pizza, but you do not have to go with the pizza. It. Is just an option.
The party group was assigned two Party Hosts to assist with the children. The Party Hosts monitored the kids while they played in and on a variety of bouny areas. They took pictures of the kids as they bounced and ran from bouncy area to area. They made sure there were never too many kids on any piece of equipment. Overall they were a great help. The children spent about thirty to forty minutes in each of two bouncy rooms and then were moved on to the party room where one of the hosts had moved on and set up the treats that party mom brought. Birthday boy got a special hat which he loved and was given a seat of honor on a big olé pump up chair. He loved it. The party hosts made sure the kids all sang happy birthday and took care of packing up the gifts the birthday boy received. They cleaned up and packed up everything at the end of the party making things much easier for party mom who could focus on birthday boy and her guests. They even made the pictures available– at a cost to the party mom.
If there is one criticism of this place it is that it really, really smells. You walk in and are struck by the odor which is reminiscent of a boys locker room. This could be alleviated with a good wipe down each evening with clean rags soaked in lemon oil and baking soda.

Like any other parent of small children in the area, I’ve experienced a few Pump it Up parties. Kids love them, and parents seem to appreciate the relatively small amount of planning and cleaning involved.
The concept is very refined. 2 hour party gives your group private time in each if two bounce rooms (each with 3 or 4 bounce attractions, be they obstacle courses, a basketball hoop, etc), then 40 minutes in the party room where pizza and birthday cake is had.
Some of the equipment is starting to show signs of ware, and I’m not sure how well they maintain it. There’s no sunlight, and the temperature is not well-​controlled between the two rooms. One is usually cold while he other is hot.
Still, kids love it, and the bathrooms are clean. So… two stars! I haven’t been to nearby Jump Zone, but I’ve heard it’s a bit nicer than Pump it Up. We’ll see!

My son is an active athletic (just turned) 3 year old who loves to jump and play! They have 2 rooms with 4 inflatables in each room and they’re all fun! One or two are very good for tiny kids as well. Parents are allowed on the inflatables to assist their kids too. They only have a few uncomfortable bleacher-​type benches for adults to sit on. They have a vending machine area for drinks/​snacks. They did have a water fountain & changing table.
We tried to attend for the first time last Tuesday (6 and under 10am-​2pm) as their website says. I called for directions when in the car and on our way, not certain of the exact location. They said they were «closed for a field trip today» but I had checked the website at 9am. They apologized and said I should always call first… that’s sorta annoying.
We attended this Tuesday (usually 6 and under 10am-​2pm) but because school was closed due to weather they opened for all ages… completely understandable. Full but not toooo crowded.
And although it was super freezing cold outside I still don’t think it was acceptable for the inside room to be 56 degrees! We entered right at 10am and left right at 2pm. Although the 2 rooms are accessible to each other, one was just a bit warmer at 63 degrees. The heat was on, and when we left at 2pm the temps were 59 & 65. Now even when the kids are running around 59 degrees is damn cold. I was only a little chilled in the warmer room but freezing in the cold room. My son didn’t seem to care at all though. If (or «when» I’m sure since we do all sorts of things for our kids, even freeze!) I return I will be sure to dress warmer. My shoes were off because I went on with him if the inflatable wasn’t too crowded and I had fun, but my feet were freezing!
I understand wanting to save money on heating costs, but they must turn the heat off when closed. I was very uncomfortable. Almost every parent had their costs and boots on the entire time.
UPDATE: I was there again this Tuesday and the temperature was a comfortable 64 degrees in both rooms, yea!

There were people everywhere and I just didn’t feel comfortable. My niece is 5, so maybe it was just me.

So, I’ll confess: I was surprised. I bought a deal for 5 jump passes for cheap and thought, «eh, if it’s gross, we’ll just go a few times to make it worth the money we spent and then call it a day». We made a playdate with my friend and her kids and went in. It was surprisingly clean, not crowded and, well, fun! Granted it was a weekday morning jump session but there were less than 15 kids in this huge place when we went it. Great! The staff were friendly and when our guys got stuck in one of the jumpy things and both of us moms were baby wearing, one of the guys climbed in and rescued them. So nice.
Some cons: there isn’t really a good place to sit and eat a snack or have a lunch. There is a carpeted area near the entrance that has a couple benches and that’s where we sat. Kinda hard to wrangle kiddos on benches but it’s do-​able. The vending machine was practically empty and that’s the only food to be had there so make sure you bring something or have plans to eat elsewhere.

The good:
–Great, attentive staff. Some of the folks even played with the kids and kept them engaged. Kudos!
–Kids seemed to really enjoy the inflatables. They are all Pump It Up branded instead of character/​theme oriented like other places. They are also more obstacle course like. Older kids would probably like it more than other places b/​c it looked more challenging (although my three-​year old was able to use them all as well).
The not so good:
–Run down location, inside and out. Sketchy looking outside. Common areas inside were ok, normal wear and tear type stuff, but the bathrooms were bordering on gross.
–Water fountains were all broken in some way (technically still functional). At a place where kids are running around non-​stop, having well functioning water fountains please!
–Did I mention the bathrooms were gross? Clean under the seat folks. Moms taking little boys to pee see that stuff. Honestly, gross.
In summary I prefer JumpZone but that’s just me!

We went here today for their open-​play. It is specifically for ages 6 and under and cost $ 8. It is for 1.5 hours of play. Usually that price would have deterred me from going, but I only had 1 kid with me today so we ventured there. My daughter had a blast and worked up a sweat. There were no employees to be found, but all of the kids were behaving nicely so there really wasn’t a need for an employee to be hovering. A parent did however have to fetch an employee to open up their other jump room as the kids are supposed to jump in 1 room for 45 minutes then their second room for 45 minutes and we were at 50 minutes and still in the same room.
I would go back again with some sort of coupon or my kids using their birthday money. Otherwise I think $ 8/​kid is too expensive for 1.5 hours.

I just had my daughter’s 3^rd birthday party here and to be honest, I wasn’t blown away.
The kids that work there are no help. A bunch of teenagers basically working to get a check. The guy at the front counter was the only one who seemed to know what he was talking about. I wish I took his name down. When we entered the room the attendant was no where to be found, kinda just slipped back into the room and wasn’t really paying attention to what any of the kids where doing, he did try to engage the kids and help them get excited when we went into the next room, but that was really it.
The bouncy houses were in poor condition, alot of the netting was ripped and there were a lot of areas where I felt air coming out of the inflatables.
Our party hostess was MISERABLE! Never introduced herself to me, She maybe said about one full sentences to me the entire time and that was «are you ready to do the cake?» In which all she did was turn off the lights, an announcement to the room or for her to even speak a single word would have been nice.
My daughter had her own little chair to sit in with a crown, that was cool, but she was so far away from all her friends, it was kinda pointless. when it came time to eat, the birthday girl was served last. The hostess threw down the pizza on the kids plate. RUDE! She was wearing gloves but then kept leaving the room with her gloves on and was touching the dirty handles and never once put on a new pair of gloves.
This place needs to revamp and think twice about the people they hire. They need people who are actually happy to work there and want to interact with the kids and parents more.
Thanks but no thanks Pump It Up!

I’ve been to other Pump It Ups in the area for other birthday parties and this location did not blow my mind. First off, the location is odd. It’s located in back of an antique shop off of Roselle Rd. The parking lot is tiny and very tight. We walked in and the place smelled of wet feet. I love the concept and my kids had fun but some of the inflatables, actually all of them need repair. There were plenty of visible holes and you could feel air coming out of it. The inflatables that had nets were ripped and needed to be replace. I will say the staff was kind, attentive and helpful.

Went to a 5yo birthday party… WOW!
First there was a huge room with gigantic inflatable climby-slidy-bouncy-wouncy’s… Even the adults can go in them!
There was a basketball court inflatable that was huge enough for a three on three…
Then the Mountain of Death was almost two stories high in the middle of a giant inflatable.
Two smaller ones for the toddlers… Cool…
Two cool teenage attendants on duty, playing with the kids, keeping the balls in the basketball court when they got kicked out… playing dodgeball…
After an hour of that… we were rounded up and moved into the next room which was even bigger and better…
A HUGE gauntlet and slides, a giant jumpy with a big oyster… a Rock climbing wall with three faces and automatic repellers for kids and adults.
Then after that… the party room with cake and snacks…
Cool party place…
My wife, 4yo, 2yo, and I were EXHAUSTED. Gotta go back!!!
