Every summer(usually in June or July) I get family(just my son and I) pictures taken. This was my first time with Studio One To One and I LOVED it!

I’ve been here twice now. Both times I ended with pictures I liked. The first time was for my mother’s birthday– my sister and I got photos done together for that. And now we went back again for my grandpa for Christmas. They are very good at taking pictures and so far my experience with the employees have been pretty good. They directed us to different poses for pictures and went through them with us later to decide which picture to use. The only reason I don’t have it rated higher is because it can get a little pricey(I haven’t been to other photography places so I don’t know what the normal price is). It’s about $ 30 for one 8×10 picture I believe. Which just seems like a lot to me. Especially since you need to wait two weeks to be able to pick up your picture. I assumed it would only take a day or two to be able to pick it up at the studio but was a little upset when I found out it’s two weeks, not only will I not have the picture in time for Christmas, I live about an hour away(my sister lives out there so that’s why we went to that one). Since I live an hour away I can’t drive out to that area that often, I also work. I just thought paying that much you would get it sooner rather then later. Other then the wait and prices though it’s a nice studio and the staff are pretty friendly.

I have come here a total of 3 times. Once to photograph my daughter at 12 months, once for a family photo when she was 18 months and another session for her when she was 24 months. Pros: Never had to wait for our session. Photographer was friendly and toys around to distract the small child. On her birthdays we would bring a small cake for a «trash-the-cake» photo, and they had no problem with that. Cons: session is 30min(less if you run late) and that is barely enough to get a small child comfortable enough in front of the camera to get good pics done. When we came in as a family, the photographers flash was on the fritz, and instead of changing it to another one that was charged, she just kept using it. The result? Half our photos were badly lit and automatically not usable. Combine that with the fact that a small kid looks at the camera only once in a blue-moon, you can see why we didn’t get many good photos. The end result photos were a little too white-washed. They are also a bit pricey for what you get. Decided not to return anymore.

Went for a family portrait. The photographer was mediocre. I also took a portrait of my daughters with a custom size frame that they offer. On delivery, they just gave the picture and forgot to give the frame! I had to go back to the receipt before they corrected their mistake. Their price is exorbitant $ 500. Don’t know what planet they are living in. The kicker was that they offered a promotion package which was about $ 250, and some where hidden in the fine print was that they automatically sign you up for a Online storage site which charges $ 9.50 per month. They did not mention that at all and reconfirm if I wanted the package with those terms at all. After close to a year, going through credit card bills, I noticed this recurring charge! This is bad business practice. I have not accessed this site even once, don’t even know that I have been signed up for this. I am thankful for the customer feedback forums that exposes these unethical businesses. This is the first negative review that I have written in 15 years, but sure hope they go out of business.

I purchased a Living Social package for Studio One to One to use with my 4 month old son. The photographer was excellent, very patient and animated, which resulted in some great shots. So far so good, right? It all seemed to go sour once we returned to see the photos and to choose which one we wanted to purchase. Of course, they start with the $ 500 package. For that money, I’ll buy a nice camera and do it myself! After over 30 minutes of dwindling down the price so that I could utilize the living social deal and buy a few more shots I thought I was done. Nope. Then they continue to try to sell you their«membership» which ties you in to a monthly photo shoot and other«free» perks. However, at this point I was still pleased with the overall experience with the studio. Now here is where it all goes south… To this day, over the promised«7−14″ business days, I have not received my photos. I have called just about every day for the last 5 days and each day its the same…“Someone will call you when they come in.» There doesn’t seem to be any explanation of why the photos are taking so long and each person I speak to has no answers. If I don’t hear from them today I will be going the route of contacting corporate. Do yourself a favor and don’t do business with this studio. You’ll save yourself lots of aggravation and probably money too!

Not impressed by this photo studio. I bought a groupon for them & decided to use them for a maternity photo session. Even though we made an appointment we still had to wait 30 – 40 minutes. Now with a 2 year old in tow, this is an eternity. Also when I scheduled my appointment I specifically requested a female photographer, for my dsughter’s comfort level. But of course when we got there it was a male photographer who was only available. Needless to say, my daughter was not pleased, she was crying and we only got a few photos with her. After our session was completed we decided against viewing the proofs and made another appointment for 2 days later. Of course when we came back, we had to wait 30 minutes again. During our session there were approximately 30 – 40 photos taken, and of that amount we only liked 4! I also felt limited in the layout choices for multiple photos. I’ve used other studios in the past, that seemed to offer more and at a more affordable rate. After picking out our photos we were told that they would take 7 – 14 days to turnaround. Well almost a month later I had not received a call, so I called the studio inquiring about my order. The employee had said that the pictures came in 1 week after we ordered them, and that one voicemail message was left. Of course I never received this message because they called the wrong phone number. It seems as though the person who did the calling misread my phone number on the contact sheet! The final issue was during the pick-up of my order. I sent my sister to pick them up, who told me that when she arrived at the studio there was no one to assist her. She waited 10 minutes for someone to finally come up to the front desk. There was a photographer working at the time, but my sister did not want to interrupt the session. Customer service needs to be worked on at this studio. Even though their name is Studio 1 to 1, they obviously don’t have the staff to accommodate for this style of service.

I recently took my daughter to get her 6 month photos taken at this studio. And wow, the photos turned out great! I was nervous that my daughter was going to be difficult, but the photographer had her smiling a ton! The good part about this place is that there isn’t a maximum number of shots that they can take… so I had enough to choose from when it came time to pick out the prints. I would’ve rated this place a 5, but : 1) the temperature was too hot and got really uncomfortable 2) the prices for the photos were way too much. The smallest package was $ 99 for 3 sheets 3) they guaranteed to have all the shots uploaded onto the internet at the same night, but it took 2 phone calls from me to finally have them posted. I would love to take more pictures here, but because of the cost I think I’m going to experiement with JCPenney or Sears.
