This is the best place to go to if you need something done. Zim will give you the best price, best service and great final product. it’s as good as it gets! I went here before to get a simple dress altered and was happy with the product especially if you need this last minute, they will get it done for you!
They are professional, straight to the point — they don’t go through the business talk and get money out of you. You walk in, tell them what you need done, they tell you how long it’s gonna take, give you a price and come back for couple more fitting then that’s it. You get your dress/​suit back the way you want it and with the best price.
The reason why I give this business so much praise is because this past september, I was caught in a dilemma where in I purchased my wedding dress from Demetrios and was told that my alterations was going to cost more than $ 500 bucks! (that is almost half the price of my dress!). I looked around for professional tailoring here and there — all over schaumburg area and I was running out of time (there are plenty of other businesses that can alter wedding dresses but they all charge around the $ 500 range for my wedding dress, who wants to pay that??! — PS. My dress was very delicate, difficult alterations, made in lace and detailed embroidery). Then, i thought of tailor needle and thread, i came here 2 weeks before my wedding and they welcomed me with open arms, I told Zim my situation, he reacted instantly and understood what I needed done, fitted me, asked me how i wanted to look in it, came back for a couple more fitting and it turned out so well! My dress fit my like a glove and was even given the best price! They will work with your price and only require a small amount for down payment and you can pay them any time during your follow up fittings or when you retrieve your garment back.
Don’t think that because this business is inside woodfield mall, it’s gonna cost you more and won’t get the tailoring service you need. Zim has been in business for so many years and is very experienced with tailoring so if you ever think of getting your wedding dress altered, or any dress/​suit altered — GO HERE! I can’t stress this enough!

I’m super short, so long dresses never fit me. I need so much alterations. I got my prom dress done here and it’s so perfect. I wanted my dress long, but the lady that measures me suggested that It’s better to have my dress off the ground or it’ll be hard to walk in, so she’ll make it ½ inch off the ground. I wanted it to be on the floor, but I decided to trust the professionals and I’m glad I did.
It was a strapless and I needed it taken in too, and it fits so perfectly. I love my dress. It was a bit pricey, but it was reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place.

If you think hemming trousers is a remarkable achievement then you will probably be impressed with this place. My opinion, however, is that they do sloppy, lazy work. At the prices they charge there is no excuse for this. Will not return.

Looks like the consensus is this is a 5 star operation – unequivocally agreed. Zim has a great eye and the service is second to none. Though, he doesn’t agree with how short I now like my pants, the end product is always on point and within a favorable time frame. Custom quality all around.

I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to share my experience with Tailor Needle & Thread. My friend needed a suit altered and was told to come here. They did a great job, leaving my friend very happy with the results! About two years ago my brother needed to have his suits altered and the store he bought the suits from recommended that he go to Tailor Needle & Thread. I told him about my friend’s experience and he decided to give it a try. He has been so incredibly pleased with the work they have done. I have also come here for my own clothes. They have done such an impeccable job that I am a believer! I highly recommend coming here if you need your clothes altered and need someone to get it right every time.

Outstanding customer service my husband needed pants hemmed that night for a meeting the next day. I called 20 minutes before they were to close he waited for us and did his pants and even steamed his dress shirt after business hours had ended. He refused a tip. He’s a good man hard working and we would highly recommend him!

I’ve been using TNT for about 6 years now and the service is nothing short of stellar! I use to jump from tailor to tailor but not since I met Zim. He does all my custom shirts, suits and even tailored ones I already own. Thinking the job was too small I was in a pinch and took my suit to 3 different cleaners to get pressed on the same day. All of them turned me away and said «good luck getting that done on Sunday». Finally decided to bother Zim with it… done in one hour and didn’t even charge me! SUPER friendly and SUPER helpful. I’m a TNT lifer!

I have gone to see Zim and his father for years. I have probably spent over $ 5,000 in tailoring work over the past 4 – 5 years. They are excellent and do top notch tailoring work, I would recommend them to anyone — including all of the attorneys in my law firm. A+++

AVOID at all costs. These guys are extremely rude and their prices are insanely high. Tailors are a dime a doze, and this one’s a huge joke. Thanks for incredibly lousy service!

I could not have had a better experience with Zim at Tailor Needle and Thread in the Woodfield Mall.
I wanted a specific type of dress shirt for my wedding on relatively short notice (1.5 weeks) and received top notch service. They had a wide variety of shirts in stock and could order more if necessary. The amount of custom shirt options available blew my mind.
My shirt was received and altered with plenty of time to spare in time for my big day. I felt Zim went above and beyond to make sure my shirt fit appropriately and looked good on me.
I’m not really a custom dress shirt kind of guy for everyday at work, but if I was, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here.

There are literally no other tailors I’ve ever been to that have done denim repairs as well as them. Fast turnaround, comes with a little higher price tag but its worth it.
Also, they listen to your instructions.

The guys here were very helpful & very polite. They were able to provide a quick turnaround and did a great job on a suit I had just purchased. Price was reasonable and would definitely go back.
