The Tree House of Schaumburg

The lady who manages the property has an extreme attitude problem, if there is an issue she’s the person you have to deal with and nothing gets done because it’s like talking to a 5 year old. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to be talked to and treated like an adult. The property managers name is Christine good luck if you have an encounter with her most of her team is nice before you sign the lease and then completely rude after, but you can’t really blame them after seeing the women who they have learned from. Anytime you need something done, or have a question each person will have a different answer, or they will tell you something is taken care of only to find out it wasn’t. This team also talks bad about one another, telling you don’t go to certain people for help when really nobody knows what there doing. It’s pretty funny actually there all a mess. This place just wants your money. Also another major issue is that the parking sucks here you can never find a spot near by your actual apartment unless you never leave your place or are home before 3pm everyday. None of the outlets work in the bathroom and only half of them work around the apartment, I’d ask if someone could come fix them but by the time that is arranged my lease will be up lol and honestly I don’t trust the people that work here even know what there doing. Overall for the price of rent your better off going somewhere else or even renting a home.

My wife and I just moved in this past weekend and so far have had nothing but great experiences from the office. Will, our leasing specialist, has been super helpful and understanding when we ran late for the initial showing and move day.
So far this week, parking hasn’t been an issue and everything seems clean and well maintained both inside and out.

The TreeHouse Apartments are a GREAT place to live, very well maintained inside and out. Quiet and friendly neighbors. I lived there over a year never one issue. The management team is awesome to work with from beginning to end very friendly. price point for the area for everything that you get when living here is perfect complexly luxurious living. I would recommend living here to anybody. By far the best in the area

INFESTED
Worst living experience of my life. Because of the infestation I lost everything I owned.
My apartment was infested with silverfish. A disgusting worm-​like bug I had never heard of. I constantly reported and they claimed to have sprayed, which did nothing. I asked for professional pest treatment and they ignored me. Eventually, the silverfish took over my kitchen cabinets and food.
Since the office was unresponsive and the problem was escalating, I reported to the Corporate Office — The Finger Company and was directed to Regional Manager Chuck Willits. He agreed to remediate the problem. I never heard from them again. I kept calling back and they told me he doesn’t work here anymore…
The office consistently lost packages — their response «get over it». I also received some pretty nice packages from the office that were not mine :)

We moved in with my boy friend about a year ago so far we happy with everything and have no complains. Any time we need something maintenance guys comes right away and fix things. I love the fact tht they are super pet friendly we never have any problems with parking even in the winter they try to clean all the parking lot early morning before people start going to work. So far I have nothing bad to say or anything to complain about!

Run away as fast as you can, from the Treehouse Apartments… not only are you fined, charged and given fees at will… they will keep your entire security deposit if you move WITHIN the complex. Cops are all over on the weekends, a lot of ‘activity’.

I’ve been living here for a little over a year. I love my granite counter tops and love that laundry is located on every floor. However, there are times where I can’t do laundry because someone has been doing it all day or they leave their laundry in a machine.
I have seen two cockroaches in my apartment. I hope I don’t have a dirty neighbor. I’ve lived here for over a year and just saw the first one a week ago and the second one last week.
Speaking of neighbors, the walls are really thin and I can hear the parties/​music from my neighbors. I’ve stepped in dog poop three times this month. People really could care less to pick up after their dogs. So I have to suffer and clean poop off my shoes.
Parking sucks in winter and fall and summer and spring. They never tow cars that don’t belong or have been sitting around for long periods of time that don’t move. People always Park illegally on the diagonal lines next to handicap spots.

Hands down the worst company I have ever had to deal with. The company that owns the Treehouse are out to rip you off. They will be nice to you until you need to move out and this is when it gets bad. They come up with a bunch of BS fees and try to keep your full security deposit. They gave me a list with a bunch of things and when I challenged some of the real crazy ones they removed them. I felt like they just listed stuff and thought if he doesn’t argue about it we can just charge him. This is also when the nice people that work there stopped being so nice. I have rented at a lot of places with many landlords and in over ten years never had one issue until I rented at the Treehouse. One other tip about all these good reviews you see on the web. The Treehouse offers current tenants money to post good reviews online. So any good review is most likely someone they paid.

I find it hard to believe that people who complain about and rip apart Treehouse are actually voicing LEGITIMATE concerns. Statements like «robberies, break-​ins, drug dealers is everyday life at treehouse» are just ridiculous.
I lived there for 2 ½ years and NEVER observed these kind of activities. I have a wife, a 2 year old and an infant, and never felt that they were at any time unsafe.
Sure it IS an apartment complex, so there are going to be the typical apartment issues. Yes, you will hear your neighbors if they’re loud. Yes, parking can be annoying depending on where you live in the complex. Yes, the windows can be drafty in the winter. But overall, Treehouse stands HEAD AND SHOULDERS above other apartment complexes in the area. We did tours at literally a dozen different places before settling on Treehouse, they BY FAR had the nicest, most up-​to-​date apartments, the most well-​maintained grounds (the landscaping is really, really great) and their workout facilities were the best (I can’t believe someone complains about them on here. Sure, they’re not amazing, but they had BY FAR the best compared to all the other places we looked at. Most other places had a few treadmills and some 10 lb dumbbells. Treehouse has enough equipment that I could get a legit whole body weight-​lifting routine in).
Here were the best things about living at treehouse.
— Updated appliances and bathrooms in our unit (all units are newly remodeled)
— Maintenance is awesome. If you have an issue, just call and they fix everything within a day or so, most times less.
— The staff is easy to work and very chill (unless you’re a dumbass and let your dog wreck the place, don’t pay your rent one time or cause problems with your neighbors. Then sure, they’re gonna get after you)
–The pools are great
— They host fun seasonal parties and stuff. My son loved the petting zoo they set up a few times.
–The grounds are really well-​maintained. Always fresh and seasonal landscaping, no trash lying around, snow removal is good.
As for complaints, I don’t have any beyond normal stuff you’ll get at any apartment complex, like hearing neighbors, sometimes not getting a good parking spot, having to pay for your laundry, etc.
If you’re considering Treehouse, go for it. it really is one of the best apt complexes in the area. We were sad to move out and have referred others to it who feel the same way we do.
p. s. if you’re an idiot and/​or have unrealistic expectation and/​or think the rules don’t apply to you, then I’m sure you’ll have a lot to complain about it, so choose somewhere else…

An accident waiting to happen.
I’ve spent most of my life living in apartments and I must say, this is definitely the worst property I’ve experienced. Sure, the new countertops and floors look lovely but, it’s a poor and unsatisfactory upgrade to these old and DANGEROUS buildings. Not only can I hear everything my neighbors say and do, water takes 5 – 10 minutes to warm up and they allow less than neighborly behavior to continue. Our downstairs neighbor has been called on several times for excessive noise (magnified by the poor walls) for their mess that spills into common areas and for their dog who has destroyed the lawn at every opportunity. They’re still living here…
What really has me thrown for a loop is their general disregard for safety. The electrical wiring in my building is an accident waiting to happen. My laptop battery is fried and my iPhone needed to be replaced after the charger literally melted. We called the office Saturday afternoon to report this and request someone come check it out. We were told the earliest someone could be here was Monday morning. It’s now afternoon and no one has come. We have had a problem with the electrical for years but, I never thought my electronics would be melting. The bathroom outlets need to be reset daily, and overall, I feel unsafe here. Not a place where you can sleep easy or have piece of mind.

I was scammed out of $ 600 by their leasing department, without ever signing a lease. Was told EXPLICITLY by their leasing agent that my deposit check would NOT BE CASHED. Upon signing a lease, I would then be able to decide which form of payment to use.
After I declined the unit, they pulled the «fine print» maneuver on my application. Which, even though the application only states $ 550, they kept the full $ 600. For more, read my article about the whole process at:

I’d agree with most of the negitive reviews out there. The management offered my girlfriend and I $ 100 off of a month’s rent to write something nice on
. I’m sure we were not the only ones offered this. Be careful of the bait and switch management.

I knew I didn’t like the suburbs for a reason, well I won’t take it out on the suburbs as a whole but this unit does wonders for my patience.
I have been living here for about 6 months and every month I have been granted a problem gaurantee. The office staff is completely imcompenant. Everyone has a different answer for one question. Parking is an absolute nightmare. I’m lucky if I can get a spot in the complex next door. I’ve noticed many vechiles park in the renters parking spot. How do I know this? We have stickers, no sticker means park in vistors. Not rocket science.
I was told there was no Section 8 housing by one of the leasing agents but then I come to find out by another agent who is no longer there, that they have a «Selected Section 8 qualification process.» Excuse me if you allow anyone on Section 8 then it means you are Section 8 approved, who you choose is at your descretion. Do not think I’m bashing anyone on Section 8/​Assistance but the majority of people I know act like animals and could care less about anyone other than themselves.
I’ve seen cops regugarly at the complex as well as some interesting characters that one may think of as streetwalkers, corner girls, quickstop… Yeah always fun, not.
The leasing manager is by far the best of all my renting experience. Her version of problem solving is supurb and by supurb I mean complete and utter ridiculous. I’ve had a air/​heating issue with my master bedroom not having any of my vents work. So with winter here I like the heat to be on but that option would be great if when the heat is on it would heat my room. With three vents in my room alone heat should be making it’s way in but it doesn’t and the only response I get is to leave my door open. –_​– Not a solution. I should not have to leave my door open to have heat. Escpeically because I have a roommate and do not like to leave my door open. But that was used against me. I was told that it’s my «perogative» to keep my door closed and nothing else they could do. First off these apartments have roommate friendly renting so do not advertise that you have roommate situation living arrangements and then tell me I can’t have heat in my room unless I leave my door open. I would believe that if there wasn’t a vent but I have three! Not one, not two but three.
Update– About 10 months into our living experience– We’ve had college neighbors who believe partying everyday till 3am, no lie (thanks Drake!), is ok. They live at a fixed income with the help of their college which is great unless they abuse the opportunity given and decide pot smoking, drinking and screaming through the parking lot is desirable. Having the cops come out multiple nights in a row and the only solution is ticketing the offenders and per Management «going to court» to evict them. I stand by what I say– moving out couldn’t come soon enough.
I’ll make due with the choice I made, but I will take negative reviews a bit more seriously especially seeing that most of them are spot on.
I could write everything I’ve had to deal with, but then I would become a world’s best author and I’m not ready for that fame yet.

Section 8 housing complex, full of gangs and drug dealers, avoid this place there are many better places in the area

I live at Treehouse right now, and it isn’t as bad as people say. I have not heard about any crimes being committed. I love my apartment, which is a nice size for the price. I also have a fireplace and balcony. It is quite lovely. That said, there are a couple of gripes. I am not impressed with the workout facilities. But then again, I have never seen workout facilities at an apartment complex that did impress me. Also, parking is a nightmare. If I get home past 6pm on a weeknight I can forget about parking in front of my building.
I have no issues with noise, safety, bugs, maintenance, the leasing office… none of it. I plan on staying here for awhile until I get done with school and can move to the city. Seriously, it isn’t bad!

All the bad rumors are true, all the good ones exgagerated.
I lived at the Treehouse for 3 years. First couple years, okay. Change of management and the complex got so awful. Robberies, break-​ins, Drug dealers is everyday life at the Treehouse. I moved out right away and broke my lease after the on-​call maintenance staff opened my door to someone without any I.D.
Very unsafe.
I haven’t looked back since, I gotta say my neighborhood right now is not an upgrade but I’m definately safe and sound here.
