It’s a nice place. Enjoyable, and eloquent. Liked the coffee. It’s nice if you just want to drink something and go you know like a grab and go kind of deal.

Given the moribund state of the Rotterdam Square Mall, aka the Zombie Mall, it’s a bit surprising to find a newly opened store of any sort, much less a coffee joint. Coffee Couture is an unremarkable but nevertheless very welcome indy coffee place, that will ease the pain of the odd shopping visit here by meeting your basic caffeination needs. No coffee by the pound or any coffee gear; this is a coffee shop, not a coffee maven’s shop. Everything prepped off-site, and the coffee is pre-brewed and put into(non-self-serve) warmers. Options are light roast, dark roast, and a decaf, plus your usual blown espresso drinks and baked goods, no snacks or sandwiches, etc. I can’t say the roast or the fare was particularly impressive, although it is at least cheaper than ‘Bux and better than Dunky’s. There are eight seats, two double high hat tables and two lounge stations with stuffed chairs. There is a basic stab at an industrial look, but you’re dealing with a former retail space, so basically the whole floor is open to the counter. Nice staff. And it is, in a word, mellow. The location is away from the food court but closer to the movie theater, but not on any of the junction points, so it’s hard to see how foot traffic is going to find this place, but best of luck to them. Patronize them if you go, such places need the encouragement, and that way they’ll be there when you really need that cuppa joe.
