I’ve had a great experience with Johns. Their service is very courteous and their mechanics are knowledgeable.

Extremely friendly and courteous staff disguise their unfair practices. I first went here several months ago to troubleshoot a noise when braking. They made a repair for a missing caliper bolt but informed me that my rear brakes were low and they recommended changing them. Not wanting to spend the money immediately and knowing that I had an inspection due in a month and a half, I told them to hold off. A month and a half later, I returned for my inspection with a check engine light on. I was quoted nearly $ 1000 for the engine work, $ 400 for the rear brakes, and $ 1000 to change the backing plates and emergency brake, plus I would need new tires at approximately $ 650. I had them do the engine work but held off on the brakes and tires due to timing. Rather than return there, I sought a second opinion at another local garage. There, I was told that I had several thousand miles left on my rear brakes and a simple adjustment to my emergency brake would suffice. Again, I was quoted $ 1400 for the rear brakes and emergency brake by John’s. In addition, they did an oil change I requested, but never asked what oil I wanted and put conventional motor oil in an engine that has been running synthetic for nearly 75,000 miles. They offered to redo the oil change and charge me only the difference in oil price. I declined, as I will no longer use John’s Auto for any service.
