Price was ok but food was a little on the stale side. next time I will ask to steam the bun.

Excellent! Been coming here for about 20 years… And they never disappoint! I would highly recommend if you’re looking for good gyros.

Don’t normally eat gyros but this is really really good. They sizzle the meat and bread which makes a big difference. Also, the meat’s not too salty, which is common in a lot of places.

Had the gyro & a chocolate malt. The malt was great, the gyro was mediocre thou. The sauce a bit too runny & although I give props to them tossing the meat on the grill to bring out the flavor, they over cooked it & became terribly dry. Plus my pita tasted stale.

I ordered a gyro from here telling the guy I didn’t want onions and tomatoes on it. When I got home and seen that the gryo had both item I requested not to be on there. I called him and he got mad and said bring it back. When I brought back the gyro the new order he made fries and sandwich was salty. I will never eat here again.

I had eaten there for the first time a few weeks ago, I had the bbq chicken meal. and I was not blown away. The bbq sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste and the chicken was a little dry. It tasted like it had been marinated in greek seasonings and then slathered with bbq sauce. The price was reasonable, but the fries were stale. I will not discount this place because I do want to try the gyros based on many other reviews, but I would not recommend the bbq chicken meal based on my experience.

In my opinion, BESTGYRO in CHICAGO. I’ve tried a lot. But when you get a gyro that’s bigger than your face, it’s good. And there was enough meat for probably 3 typical gyros. The bread is grilled, which is key to being able to resist the moisture onslaught from the tzatziki and gyro. The sauce and meat are well balanced, and forms the«magic blend» when the sauce and oil from the meat blend together to make the signature tang of an incredible gyro. Finally, the feta cheese(which you should definitely get) is served in large square chunks, which enables you to cut and place smaller morsels into the overflowing ribbons of meat with each bite. Just a ridiculously good gyro. Also got the fried mushrooms, and while the Ranch was out of a packet, the batter was deliciously hard and crusty and completely resisted the moisture from the mushrooms inside. I definitely ate too much. Finally, had a nice chat with Bill at the counter. While I don’t live in Chicago, I would go out of my way for this excellent neighborhood«Gyro Joint» if I did. I will certainly be coming back!

Fairly typical gyro joint. It’s located in a strip mall, so plenty of available parking. Pretty clean inside, it has booth seating(8 – 9), with order and pick up at the counter. I got the gyro platter with fries. Large portions on both the fries and gyro meat. Ran out of pita bread with about half the meat left. Next time I will forgo the fries and get extra pita. I did order extra Tzatziki sauce as from experience with most gyro joints that is a must… glad I did, it was tasty. Soda does not come with the platter, which seemed odd. A medium RC was enough to wash it all down. Total bill was a bit pricey imo, so I won’t be making this a weekly visit. Overall, if you live in or find yourself in the area I would recommend you give Mr. T’s a try.

Me and my helper are always in the area delivering for an alcohol company. We always and debating where to go for lunch. We have been here a few times and the food was average and a little pricey for the quality. Today was the worst experience we have had and decided that it would be our last trip to Mr. Ts. The onion rings were burnt and basically most of the order was inedible, as well as the pita on my gyro sandwich being burnt and overcooked. Therefore, we will not be wasting 20 dollars on two awful meals anymore. If around the area I recommend jays beef, which is a little on the pricey end, but the food is worth every penny and never disappoints.

While looking for something new to try in the area, we stumbled across Mr. T’s. The gyros are delicious. The portion is huge. You must a fork to eat some meat before being able to fold the pita bread. My wife had the cream of broccoli soup and she was very happy with it. This is definitely a gem. They have won me as a customer and will be back!!!

Good gyros meat, they actually take the time to crisp the meat on the grill. Never had an RC brand root beer before, defiantly different but still good and worth a try. The 4 stars instead of five is because of the portions. I ordered a gyro platter and I have never been served so much gyro meat in my life! But 4 squares of a tiny pita and a small cups of sauce could not stand up the the near pound of meat I got, and gyro meat really needs the other stuff to counter the saltiness, I’m sad to report I needed to throw some of it away after because I couldn’t keep eat fork after fork of straight meat. I will be back! but this time for the sandwich not the platter.

Refused to take my coupon from , forgot the peppers on my girlfriend’s Italian Beef but the food was A-OK. I had the gyro, and they give you a huge portion. Order extra sauce because it can get dry. Fries are on the thin side like those of Steak N’ Shake. Service could of have been better, but what do you expect from a place like this. If your in town come a little further in, I would recommend Twin Gyros for gyros.

My favorite Gyro place, and one by which I measure all others. It’s a great place to get a Gyro, and the other food isn’t bad as well. Popular place during lunch time as Airport people drive out of their way to come here and get lunch. Mr. T behind the counter almost always, a very friendly gentleman and likes to get to know his customers. Come to Mr. T’s for Gyros and you’ll always be coming back.

The boyfriend and I were in the area and craving a good gyro. This place had great reviews so we decided to check it out. Fellow Unilocalers, you never let me down! We both ordered the gryo meal which was a gyro, fries, and a drink. The gyro was absolutely massive and I didn’t even try to pick it up. I just used a fork. I only saw about half the bottom of the basket because there was so much food I couldn’t even finish it. I could have used more gyro sauce but I could eat that stuff with a spoon so maybe it is just me. The fries were good – thin, crispy and salty. The inside of this place is simple but the booths were clean. Our food came out quickly. The only downsides I see are the refills are not free(and I really could have used more lemonade since my fries were salty) and it was too greasy for me.

I had the Number 8 which is the chicken breast with fries and a drink. The chicken was tender and Gyro sauce was very good at Mr. T. The straw fries were average at best. They serve RC products. Their dining aera was very simple with tables and a hard seats. The staff was very friendly and had the food waiting for me after I called in order. Below are the reason I gave this place: Amount of chicken breast was small Got charged for soda refills Some of the tables were dirty Pricey for the amount of food

I’ve been stopping in here randomly for years. The gyro’s are as good as you’ll find around the area; given there aren’t many other spots that offer them, but for a quick little lunch, they do a good job. The cheese fries are fine, along with the hot dogs. Just like any other little spot, nothing out of the ordinary, but has been consistent over the years now.

Simple place to get a variety of food. Good food, fast service. Been going to this place since they opened in the late ‘80s. They have evolved adding daily specials which are really great, lots of different choices. Quality of the food has stayed the same over the years which keeps me coming back.

I pity the fool who doesn’t go to this gyro shop! Yes, the A-Team reference had to come up in this review, but it’s so worth it. Searching for food on the way to O’Hare, the iPhone and Unilocal helped us to find this awesome spot. Following the good review, we headed to this diner in a small stripmall. The place is your typical gyro/hamburger/chicken/hotdog place. The simple décor of white and orange harkened back to the days of roller rinks giving the place a lot of character. The large, wooden counter hides the grills and fryers in the back. For my lunch, I ordered their #3 special of two hotdogs, fries, and a drink. They had a wide selection of choices in their specials ranging from gyros to chicken to hotdogs. My bf got a gyro special while our guest got chicken-fried, as one of the many options for preparation. Our food was prepared quickly and was served super hot. My two Chicago style hotdogs were delicious and so fresh. My bf’s gyro was busting with so much gyro goodness that you could barely find the pita bread. I tasted his gyro and it was awesome. Their french fries were great! The shoestring fries were hot, crispy, and lightly salted. The large portion satisfied the need for fries while balancing my Chicago style hotdog. We had wonderful and friendly service. Mr T’s is an awesome gyro stand that the A-Team’s Mr. T would happily enjoy a piping hot gyro or hotdog with shoestring fries.
