Anderson Solar Controls

We had a great experience with Brian Anderson. He let us know our solar converters were still under warranty and he fixed them free of charge. He did a wonder job and we highly recommend him.

Let me echo the other glowing reviews. Anderson Solar is a standout in a local market distinguished by very competent contractors. From his careful measurement of sun and shade, his expert knowledge of panel manufacturers, and on-​time, on-​budget installation Brian is a solar superstar.
Brian — because he does his own sales, marketing, and engineering, requires less margin and his bid is likely to be more competitive than other contractors. The system he designed for our house was priced well below any other.
Brian was also particularly helpful in sizing the system to achieve the 85% sweet spot with the greatest overall cost efficiency. For anyone considering a solar installation, balancing system output, inverter type and rating, and investment can be daunting. Brian detailed the options, worked the alternatives, and the system he installed is working perfectly.

Not only are we happy with our decision to install a solar system on our house (we pretty much no longer pay for electricity anymore), but we were grateful that the installation was done by Brian at Anderson Solar Controls. Brian was extremely courteous and professional. He showed up when he said he would and even completed the job earlier then expected.
When we did have an issue with our inverter (something wrong with the circuitry), Brian came out right away and handled all communications with the manufacturer to get us a replacement inverter at no cost to us, he also installed the new inverter at no cost to us as well. To me that said quite a bit.
I have, and will continue to recommend Anderson Solar Controls to friends and neighbors without any reservations what so over.

I too highly recommend working with Brian and Anderson Solar Controls. He’s very professional and knowledgeable, with lots of follow-​up and a problem free implementation. Brian installed photovoltaic panels, thermal hot water panels, and monitoring systems for both. At least 3 of our neighbors also worked with Brian with the same good results.

I highly recommend Anderson Solar Controls. When we remodeled our house and added an extra floor, we brought in Brian to also add solar, and he worked smoothly with our contractor and had the panels installed to fit in well with our new set-​up. And Brian has been great with any follow-​up questions, etc. Even a few years later, he hasn’t forgotten about us and stil checks in to make sure everything is going well! We could not have better service!

He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of solar, from technologies to permits and PG&E and all the details of installation. It is also reassuring to know that we have an ongoing connection with a respected local professional who we can contact for equipment warranty issues, maintenance, etc.
We talked to many solar companies from large to small when we started our first solar project and we closely evaluated many factors, including cost (as our system was fairly large). Anderson Solar Controls beat the competition from all perspectives, and we were able to keep our business local. The project was completed swiftly and the system has been running flawlessly for over two years. That is why when we recently moved to a new house, our only question was when Brian would be available to design our new system, which was also beautifully designed and professionally installed.
The best advice I can give anyone looking to build a solar system is to find an expert who will really listen to and understand your requirements and who can also demonstrate the ability to design the best system for your home. I learned that every house poses unique design challenges and you need someone who has the experience and will take the time to build a custom solution optimized for your house. In my opinion you will be hard pressed to find someone who can do this as well as Brian.
