History

Established in 2015.

We took over the business from the previous owner in February on 2015. We spent the next five months renovating the laundromat. We outfitted our store with new, energy and water-​efficient Continental and LG washers and new top-​of-​the-​line ADC dryers. We also made major upgrades to the interior and exterior of the space by putting in new floors, ceiling, LED lighting, a large ADA compliant bathroom, roof, fresh paint, and a new sign. For those of you that loved the old owner, we built him a small shop in the building where he will be running the wash-​and-​fold, off-​site dry-​cleaning, and alterations counter. We opened our doors for business on July 14, 2015.

Business Owner

After graduating with his MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, Greg moved to Santa Cruz in May of 2013 and at the time he was commuting up to work in San Francisco on a daily basis. He quickly realized that he was spending a considerable amount of time on the train and behind the wheel of his car and he was not able to get involved in the Santa Cruz community. So, he decided to quit his job as a Senior Project Manager with a general contractor to join his wife’s family business, David Lyng Real Estate. Greg jumped feet first into the local community by joining the Ambassadors of the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce, and later earning a spot on the Board of Directors, and starting the United Way of Santa Cruz County’s Emerging Leaders Circle. He decided to start the laundromat when approached with the opportunity by his father-​in-​law in early 2014. If opening a laundromat wasn’t enough, Greg’s wife Morgan gave birth to their son, David, in February of 2015.
