A Always Open Garage Doors

I’ve dealt with this family owned company twice in the last year and both times Zach has been out to complete the work. Back in April, one of my garage doors buckled in the center due to stress & age and I was able to make a call and have Zach out within a couple hours (it was past 6pm when I’d initially called). Ultimately he told me I’d need a new door but offered to make a couple adjustments/​repairs to try and get some more use out of the current one. Not once did I feel like I was being pressured or «sold» something I didn’t need done, just honest & factual information that I could make informed decisions with. Fast forward to this week when I called to get a quote and found it to be quite reasonable (given the circumstances) that I was able to set up a time for him to stop by that same evening to take measurements and for me to basically pick what style/​color/​insulation type I was interested in. Initially he told me it typically takes about 2 – 3 weeks before installation can take place but I received a call the following morning letting me know they had everything in stock & (thanks to a truck stuck in a snowstorm back east) he’d be available to do the installation that same day (!) Needless to say, I am now the proud new owner of two new garage doors & matching motors! They look absolutely amazing and I’m BEYOND impressed with the customer service & quality workmanship!

On one of the coldest nights this year, my garage door completely failed, wouldn’t open or close, made a horrible racket — and of course happened around 6:00 pm. I found Always Open on the internet, called to leave a message and a very helpful gentleman answered. He sent Ray out at 7:30 that same evening! I totally did not expect that quick of a response. Ray fixed the door, in fact it’s better than new and for an extremely reasonable price. By 9:00 pm, the car was safely back in the garage and everything fixed so quick. It’s so great to work with contractors that are so professional, friendly and conscientious. I highly recommend Always Open Garage Doors to anyone looking for repairs or new installs.

I had previously used a different garage door service and was not happy with them at all. Decided to give these guys a try based on their Unilocal reviews, and I was not disappointed! Zach was prompt, polite, and very knowledgable about the type of opener I have (not traditional). He fixed the door, gave both doors a tune up, and they have never worked better! I would recommend them to anyone!

Don’t even bother using anyone else… honestly, this family owned business is the best.

When our garage door was having trouble opening one late afternoon, I initially called the company whose sticker was on the back of the garage door. That company informed me that they wouldn’t have any availability for three days. I didn’t want to wait that long, so I called A Always Open Garage Doors based on prior Unilocal reviews. Much to my relief, Always Open promised to send a technician at the exact time period I requested. Zach arrived promptly and was very polite. In less than an hour, he diagnosed the issue, solved the problem, and also performed some badly-​needed maintenance on my other garage doors. My garage doors are so quiet now! Just as importantly, Always Open’s rates were quite reasonable. With the Unilocal $ 20 discount, the service call charge was $ 59, but even at their usual $ 79 rate, they are $ 26 less than that other company. Moreover, Always Open DOES NOT CHARGE EXTRA for after-​hours emergency service calls, whereas the other company’s rate increases to $ 185. Before he left, I asked Zach to put an Always Open sticker on the back of our garage door, directly on top of that other company’s sticker!

I can’t say enough great things about these guys. Family owned and operated. I’ve had 3 dealings over the last several years. Mark, the father, arranges the appointment, and one of the sons typically shows up. Dan and Zack have been my service techs. They not only fix the problem, but make any adjustments that will make the system last longer and run smoother. They always make the appointment, and are always on time. You get what you need … straight-​forward repair or install. Never any pressure or attempts to up-​sell, just quality service and sound advice — always at a reasonable price. If only every business was was this good!

My door had a broken spring and would not go up or down. I called them at 7:30 am on a Monday morning and they arrived at 8:30. The job was finished by 9:30 am same day.

Called them Thursday night and had a new garage door Saturday morning. Couldn’t have been happier!

As a business owner and a person who often outsources specific home improvement /​maintenance i can say with 100% confidence that you will not find a better, more qualified nor dedicated company offering this set of services.
I wish I found these guys sooner because my first call to them was to fix another companies mess who most likely made a couple extra bucks off me by installing a small spring on a large door.
Very knowledgeable. extremely professional and courteous. Did i mention speed of service? I have used this company a total of three times now on three separate jobs and every single time the phone is answered on the first ring and the service tech arrives exactly as expected, often within the same day (sometimes within hours of calling). Dan has provided impeccable service each visit and clearly is an expert at what he does.

I’m sorry but I cannot give this company a positive review as some have done. I have a background in the service industry and know a bit about standard labor billing practices. I have contacted this company a total of three times to date. Each time I asked simple and reasonable questions:
What is your basic charge for a service call?
What is your hourly rate or by quarter or half hour rate if applicable?
How do you apply your stated Unilocal discount of a: Free $ 59 Service Call & $ 20 Off Any Repair?
I was ignored each time.
If a company will not or cannot answer these simple and straightforward questions there is something wrong.

WOW! Called at 3pm and they were here by 8pm to fix a broken door opener. Zach and Felipe were great. Very friendly and professional. They gave me some options to either make some repairs or replace the opener. They said we could probably get some more life out of the motor so a repair would do the trick. I can’t believe how well everything works now — and it’s so quiet. They were done within 30 minutes. To top it off, Felipe swept the entire garage. It’s cleaner now then when they showed up. I’m telling everyone about these guys.

Called last night @ 10:30 pm… Dan was here first thing in the morning.
Garage is working great !!!
I would give bonus stars if I could .

These guys are awesome! My garage wouldn’t open or close so I gave them a call on a Saturday and they showed up same day. Come to find out it was just a simple sensor issue and took only a minute to fix, which they didn’t charge me for. I always wanted a garage keypad so while they were out I had one installed for a very reasonable price. Ray did a great job installing it and explained how to operate the keypad and all its features. A+ service all around!

Sat night — 830 pm. Amazingly quick! They came in, corrected the problem, discussed options and how to extend the life of our garage doors. Just awesome! I didn’t even know it was possible to quiet the noise from the doors! Zach and Ray were courteous, knowledgeable, and had significant experience. After seeing the safety reviews, I called and Mark answered immediately and sent out his sons.
LOVE the family owned business and values in this company. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I highly recommend Mark and his sons. I am a two time customer and both times, Always Open gave a good diagnosis, a reasonable estimate, and did the work fast. On the second job, Jay took the initiative to make sure I had the correct spring for my door. Apparently the one that broke was not the correct size. Once he replaced it, he was able to identify the problem and swapped it out with the correct size spring. Awesome, honest service and a nice change from the other companies that gave me estimates. Always Open gave a truly free estimate (no hidden conditions), came out on a Sunday morning to do the work and were extremely friendly and helpful.

This company is ran by a family who is very professional and they’ll go the extra mile to make sure their customers are satisfied. They replaced my broken opener very quickly, explained everything to me, and when I asked a question on their website, Mark called me to clarify everything to me. They are all very professional, thorough and polite. Thank you for your outstanding service and for making sure i’m a satisfied customer

We moved across town and our new home needed its opener replaced. We had a bunch of coupons in the mail from competitors that seemed much cheaper than A Always Open so we called and it turns out the coupon price was just for the base unit. They tried to upsell us on a larger opener and were going to charge extra for EVERYTHING (delivery, evaluation, add’l remote (it only came w/​1), removal & disposal of the old unit, key pad & installation of the pad) and those were just the things we thought to ask about. Rather than be nickeled and dimed we called up A Always Open and received the same great service and competitive pricing we’ve experienced for the past 5 years.

I’ve had an old garage door on my house for about 20+ years, and worked just great. We did a garage remodel and had to move the door, re-​installed it later on, and soon after the motor on our opener stopped working. I called Always Open and they came out and told me I could really benefit from some new teflon rollers, and boy were they right! If you have steel rollers these new ones make quite a difference, my garage is now whisper quiet! It even seems like it rolls much better and smoother. As for the garage door opener, they sold me on some newer technology. I am using a lift master opener with their built in wifi box, so now I can control my garage door opening and closing from lift masters app on my iPhone. Super convenient and very handy when friends or family need something from my house, but I’m not home to let them in. They charged a fair price, other companies seemed to charge around the same amount, but I ultimately decided to choose Always Open because they are a smaller family run company, and from experience, family owned companies seem to «care» more about the product and services they offer. These guys did an awesome job repairing my 20+ year garage door and literally made it BETTER than most garage doors I see on new homes today.
I am writing this review now after a year of testing their installation and products, and everything is still working like it was the day after they repaired it! A nice feature my lift master has that I didn’t know it had is a battery backup, my power went out, and to my surprise I was able to open and close my garage door! I highly recommend Always Open for your garage door services, and I will be calling them again in 19 years! Hopefully I can squeeze another 20 years of service into this old garage door.

Had amazing service from these guys today! This morning, the torsion spring snapped, trapping both cars inside the garage. I did a Google search for garage door repairmen in the area, saw that they had high customer ratings, and gave them a call. They told me they’d be out today between 4:00 and 7:00. They ended up calling and asking if they could come by to fix it EARLIER than the time frame they gave us. So, Dan showed up before 3:00 and quickly replaced the spring, lubed all the moving parts, and even swept up the area. He was friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable on what he was doing.
I definitely recommend A Always Open Garage Doors if you ever need help with your door!
