Caliber Companies was founded in 2009 by three partners, Chris Loeffler, Donnie Schrader, and Jennifer Schrader. Caliber began as an opportunistic company, designed to capitalize on the undervalued assets available at the end of the market crash.

Starting with just one investor, Caliber began renovating houses and creating great returns. It wasn’t long before more investors wanted to participate. In 2009 Caliber bought, renovated, and sold roughly 150 single family homes.

Caliber’s partners put systems in place to allow the company to grow into other asset classes, while continuing to renovate and sell houses. One of these was an in-​house auction purchasing system. As the volume of properties began to increase, Caliber hired more people to handle the additional work.
