Cuttlefish is a new family owned and operated Italian restaurant in Scottsdale and is Arizona’s new home for Italian seafood fusion cuisine featuring the freshest, finest fare this side of the Mediterranean. Joey and Cristina Maggiore are bringing the communities of Scottsdale and Phoenix their beloved coastal Italian cuisine that you will love! Cuttlefish’s goal is to provide classic and contemporary dishes with Italian influences and sustainability always in mind. We take our fish-buying seriously. A lot of time goes into securing the best of the best. Cuttlefish will provide you not only gourmet seafood, but also a unique dining experience featuring a raw bar with custom-made Vespa seats. The menu has a wide array of raw starters, sharable plates, housemade pastas and entrees, as well as Happy Hour everyday from 3pm-7pm in our bar. History
Established in 2014.
Since the 1960’s, the Maggiore family has been plating up America’s finest Italian cuisine. From New York to San Diego, the family has operated and owned over 30 award-winning restaurants. Being born into the restaurant business, Joey has owned his own restaurants since the age of 22. Joey’s favorite dish was risotto con sepia, which is a squid ink risotto with cuttlefish and prawns, and they serve it here at Cuttlefish. It was his favorite dish growing up and that is where the name Cuttlefish came from for this new gourmet seafood restaurant in Scottsdale. Cuttlefish will be featuring environmentally conscious seafood flown in daily, and will offer both «classic and contemporary dishes with Italian influences and sustainability always in mind.» Joey, with his wife Cristina, will be operating this restaurant along with their other brand new restaurant Notorious Burgers, located just next door. They are excited to bring their Coastal Italian Cuisine to the Scottsdale/Phoenix area.

Business Owner
Joey grew up in the restaurant business industry. He and his father, Tomaso, have set the bar with Italian dining in San Diego, California and Phoenix, Arizona. At the age of 22, Joey solely owned and operated his first restaurant, Joey’s California Bistro. In 2005, Joey opened another restaurant focusing on down home cooking and barbeque-inspired menus in Carlsbad, California. In 2010, Joey and his sister Melissa Maggiore opened Tommy V’s Urban Kitchen and were featured on Food Network’s Family Style reality-TV show. With the opening of Cuttlefish Ocean Kitchen with his wife Cristina, Maggiore is bringing his beloved coastal Italian cuisine to Scottsdale. Cristina grew up in a large Italian family and she knows what it takes to cook a large great meal! Sunday gatherings and traditional family-style Italian dinners prepared her for a career in the culinary field. From exemplary hospitality skills to managing a large kitchen and staff, Cristina oversees all food and beverage operations.
