Eric Wiitala DDS

Going to the dentist is not something I would think about «rating»… however, Dr. Wiitala and his Staff are really remarkable! Andrea is gentle and explains everything as she goes. Eric is gentle too and puts up with me whining and wiggling… everyone makes me feel very welcome.
I went to my last dentist for over 30 years before I switched and I’m sure I’ll be seeing Dr Wiitala for the next 30! Peace of mind is having an awesome dentist!

Dr. Wiitala is the best dentist I have ever had. I have very complex teeth with a bridge and many dental issues. I had dentists in the past that really didn’t know how to deal with these issues and only made them worse. I had major dentist trust issues after another dentist botched a root canal. Another dental professional referred me to Dr. Wiitala, and I have been going to him for 8 years now. He is also great with kids and has been taking care of my child’s teeth since the age of 5. His staff is courteous and professional and always does a great job with cleanings. His front desk staff used to be really bad, but he’s since hired a new front desk person who is great. Their office is really nice and clean on the inside. He also has a machine that can make crowns there that is quite impressive, so sometimes crowns can be done in one visit rather than two. They are always on schedule. I’ve never had to wait.

Dr. Wiitala is genuinely one of the best dentists I’ve ever visited. His (and his staff’s) caring attitude for patients really shines through. From the time I walked into Dr. Wiitala’s friendly office I was made to feel at ease and comfortable. I recently had to have a crown and all I can say is that the crown Dr. Wiitala created is absolutely perfect. Dr. Wiitala doesn’t rush you through your appointment and carefully explains all procedures. I am so pleased with my smile — thank you Dr. Wiitala!

Really? Giving a dentist a 5-​star rating? If anything is ridiculous, this is!
My past left me painfully scarred – physically and emotionally. Nearly 10 years ago, my husband (who knows I don’t allow others to take care of me) forced me to see Dr. Wiitala.
It had been years since I had been in a dentist’s chair, but I’ll never be in any other dentist’s chair again.
Dr. Wiitala gets a 5-​star for all the other reasons the reviewers list AND for putting up with the likes of me!

I purchased a groupon to get my teeth whitened before my wedding from this office. I Madeleine first apt with no problems. When I got to the office the front desk lady proceeded to tell me that the groupon had really expired (although the expiration date on the actual groupon was not for 4 – 5 weeks!) and offered me an addition service for nearly $ 200. I pointed out the expiration date and after having me wait she said they would honor it. Three months after I used the groupon I get a bill in the mail that has no description-​just says past due” for $ 115! Place is shady! Wouldn’t recommend it!

First off, I would like to say that I don’t think I’m alone when I say I strongly dislike going to the dentist. With that said, today I had my first dental appointment since my move to California last July and it was one of the worst appointments I’ve ever had, out of any medical appointment. I won’t go in to detail, but the office was a complete dump, they were unprofessional, untrained, not concerned with my time at all and when they finally did clean my teeth, it was so uncomfortable that I almost had to stop them mid-​cleaning. The only thing I could think the entire time was how much I took Dr. Wiitala’s office for granted. Needless to say, my search for the California version of Dr. Wiitala and Staff continues. Their expertise, professionalism, genuine kindness and investment in their patients does not go unnoticed and, for me, twice a year, it will be sincerely missed. Their office is truly second to none.

My experience at Dr. Wiitala’s office has always been positive. Here are a few highlights:

— Timely for both routine cleanings and procedures.
— Excellent dental advice. Dr. Wiitala takes the time to really explain what is happening during the procedure, how to prevent future problems and general care.
— Danielle is efficient and does an excellent job for cleanings. I never have to worry about my appointment running late. She is always on time.
— If you need a crown, be sure to book the appointment with Dr. Wiitala. Crown appointments here can be done in one visit. Dr. Wiitala doesn’t skimp on the latest technology and uses a Cerec machine which saves all of us time and money!

If there was a 10 star rating, Dr. Wiitala and staff would get it! By far, the most professional, friendly and patient-​centric dental practice in the Valley. Imagine a dentist who actually respects your time and gets you in on time, every time? I don’t think I have ever actually «waited» in the waiting room!
I simply can’t say enough about Dr. Wiitala and his entire staff. They are wonderful! You may actually enjoy going to the dentist after an experience with this office. I will never go anywhere else.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wiitala’s for about two years now and I drive clear across town to see him! (about 20 miles to be exact). His staff is very friendly, they have the latest tools and technology, and Dr. Wiitala is knowledgeable and extremely gentle. definitely worth the drive.

Dr. Wiitala and his staff always provide a welcoming atmosphere to the «dreaded» dentist visit. The office has evolved and expanded in a beautiful fashion, adding to that welcoming feeling one has when walking in. They are punctual about check ups and reminders for your appointment. They are also very cognizant of your experiences during every cleaning.

My husband & I have been patience of DR. Wiitala’s for 5 plus years and we have nothing short of awesome experiences every time we go.
I have a tad extensive dental history with lots of work; root canals — re-​root canals & fillings — re-​fillings. — my recent visit yesterday shows and older filling so large needing be replaced and of course it time for a crown, but I’m excited to go because I have the BEST dentist ever.
On another note, due to scheduling issue I had to bring my 3.5 year old with me to my cleaning yesterday and Danielle (hygienist) was awesome at letting her use the tools to help her polish my teeth mask, gloves et al!
We can’t say enough good thing about Wiitala & his staff!!! Thanks for consistently being awesome!!!

Gotta agree with Andrew S on this one — I despise going to the dentist. The sound of the drill, the smell of all the chemicals, the dread of knowing that they will most likely tell you things you don’t want to hear about fillings, and cavities, and…
So, now that you know my feelings on the dentistry practice as a whole, let me tell you about Dr. Wiitala and his office staff. We moved to the Phoenix area in May and I knew that I needed to find a new dentist office and take care of a tooth that has been bothering me. We all put off going to the dentist, right? I opted on trying out Dr. Wiitala’s office since they were covered by my company insurance and they had a 5 star review here on Unilocal… what dentist gets 5 stars?
I went in for a cleaning, x-​rays and a consultation and I coudn’t believe how nice everyone was — from Tiffany at the front desk to the hygenist and even Dr. Wiitala himself. I’m pretty used to the standoffish Dr. that comes in for five minutes and tells you the issues and moves on. Not here. Dr. Wiitala took the time to explain everything to me and made sure that I understood his reasoning for his recommendations, he asked me questions and made me feel like he really cared.
I have been back to his office to get a filling repaired that had broken from a previous aged filling done when I was young and everyone was the same as the first visit. He even remembered things we discussed on my first visit and asked about them when I returned. The filling took less than an hour and every step of the way he and the assistant explained what they were doing and warned about any slight discomforts I may feel so I was ready in advance.
Getting a filling, or any other dental work, is never necessarily pleasant, but when you have a kind, caring Dr. and staff to walk you through the process, it can only make things easier!
Overall: A+
If you are looking for a dentist, or should be looking for a dentist and have been putting off the dreaded deed, go here!

While most people don’t like going to the dentist, I can truthfully say I don’t mind seeing Dr. Wiitala. First off, he’s one of the nicest guys and his staff is the same. The medical practice I work for refers to him quite often and our patients have been very happy with their experiences. The usual routine begins with a cleaning with the hygienist. That’s the not-​so-​fun part. I’ve got a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth so they have to use an ultrasonic to clean up down there. It feels a little weird, but works wonders for keeping my teeth shiny and healthy. Dr. Wiitala comes in after to make sure everything looks OK and answers any questions. No one ever preaches to me about flossing, though it’s always encouraged.
Several months ago, a slightly discolored lump in my gums had me worried. I called and got scheduled almost immediately. Dr. Wiitala and a couple hygienists were waiting for me when I came in to give me a very thorough clean, identify the issue, and extract a small piece of food (gross, I know) that had lodged itself in deep. I was relieved to know it wasn’t more serious.
Bottom line: Dr. Wiitala is my go-​to dentist. I’ve been pleased with every visit and I like knowing my smile is in good hands.
