Gainey Village Health Club & Spa

I love this fitness center. Lots of equipment and classes. It’s also very clean. I worked with Karen to join, she was very responsive and did a great job of getting me acclimated to the club

LOVE this health club! Absolutely worth the higher price than other clubs, feels like a club instead of just a gym. Opt for the choice membership and you can go to any of the village clubs! Shawna in the membership sales office was great to work with– great communication, and some of the best customer service I have experienced. Highly recommend.

Made a change after 15 years from LA fitness to Gainey Ranch spa and club. I find the gymnasium to be excellent and the locker room top-​of-​the-​line. I also have had my haircut twice there very good. Yesterday I experienced a 90 minute massage from Nicole Williams that was outstanding. All the staff very friendly and accommodating. Very upbeat and positive atmosphere.

I love this club. I could spend all day, every day here. I can work out, eat, do a spa service, and relax. Every thing here is excellent. I just wish I had more time and money to just enjoy this club. This is the first club I ever look forward to showering after my workouts. I am very picky, so at the other clubs, I wait to shower at home!

love this place. I was looking for a new place to workout that had good yoga and nice amenities. Village had it all. Tons of classes such as spin, hot yoga (or normal) pure barre. They also have nice equipment, full size basketball court, lap pool, sauna, steam room and nice locker room to shower and get ready for the day. When you compare prices for what you get here it’s a no brainer. Sign up fee can be a little steep but they usually have some deal going. Staff here is amazing as well. Highly recommend.

Rude sales staff. They looked like nice women but… watch out. Such a bad taste in my mouth I simply won’t go back. Nice facility, I’m sure staff is great once you get threw the bad energy first.

Went to become a member, was placed in a group tour. If the tour is grouped together and impersonal, what will the gym be? I gave up, frustrated at the poor personal attention.
Perhaps my view was skewed by the prices described here and the experience others shared. As an outsider to the gym and a newcomer to the area, I can say I was sorely disappointed.
Worst part? I went committed to signing up based on reviews here. Clearly, that didn’t work out.

Shady management. Takes forever to get ahold of them.
Decent health club but a bit outdated. Great if you are 40+ and looking for a social scene.
I was a member here for about 5 months and originally put the membership on hold because I travel half the year. The guy I signed up with was suppose to cancel my membership shortly after, but the freeze was never changed.
Instead of giving a 30 day notice that I was unaware of since I thought it was canceled, I got charged for $ 230 for a month. You’d think they would maybe reverse a charge (for never even going) to keep future customers.
I’ll make sure NOT to recommend this gym to any friends or athletes. Checkout Independence Gym.

Friendly staff, limited members and country club style amenities. Great gym for the Gainey ranch area!

I’m a member of the village health club. This place is definitely pricey, but even more worth it. I mostly enjoy the spa.
In regards to the spa, I think it’s absolutely wonderful. I really enjoy what they have to offer at the spa, a few examples; the Thai massage is to die for, their facials and skin care treatments are the only one that I’ve ever worked for my skin even up against dermatologist, their hair salon is very nice and they have good hair cutters and stylists on staff, the showers and bathroom facilities are off the hook.
Your gym is also a big point to brag about. They have a large amount of machines and weights that are hard to find at other gyms. They also have other studios says as yoga, pilates, zumba, cycling, etc. I know that the hot yoga is really popular, I used to go but now it doesn’t work with my schedule. They do have a very flexible schedule for all of their provided classes that are free and included with membership. However I’m only available late in the night. But I have partaken in yogas as well as zumba. And I give them a thumbs up.
Why is this place not getting five stars? It is due to the people who attended this place. However it’s something that I should expect and a high and gym in Scottsdale.

This gym is the best I have ever experienced and worth every expensive penny! My two favorite things about this fitness club is that there is always a cardio machine that I WANT to use any time of day I go and I can always find a spot in the group classes even if its five minutes before or after the class starts which was unheard of at my other gym.
The cardio and weight equipment:
The cardio equipment is on the first floor and is always in pristine condition and if by the rare chance I see a machine that is out-​of-​order, its fixed in 24 hours. There are 5 Stairmaster stepmill machines in addition to two traditional Stairmaster. There are 12 – 15 treadmills (with personal tv’s) including a few unique treadmills, several elliptical machines, recumbent bikes (that have personal fans), and stationary bicycles. I will say that this area can get a little hot because the ceiling is not high, but this is the only compliant I have about Gainey Village.
The workout group class:
These are the reason I signed up in the first place. They offer sssssooooo many yoga class that I have never taken, barre class, mat pilates, cycle/​spin, zumba, and a few others. The instructors are awesome and will help with proper form even if they have a packed class; they make the effort which is always appreciated by me!
The locker rooms:
Amazing! They have everything you could every need to shower and transition into non-​gym attire. Complementary disposable showers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, body spray, mouthwash, cotton balls, q-​tips, hair dryers, etc. There are private «getting ready» areas away from the lockers with mirrors galore so you can get your hair perfect! Also in the locker rooms are a sauna, steam room, and hot tub, all private in the ladies locker room (men have a private facilities too). I love that they offer cold towels on ice outside of the steam and sauna area! Oh, they also have two fun little swimsuit water extractor machines.
Others:
There is also a café where you can relax between cardio and class sessions, a small boutique where you can buy cute workout gear or casual wear for both men and women. In the center of the club is a full sized basketball court and along the western wall are squash,/racquetball courts. There is a kids club which always looks like they are having fun. On the second floor there is a small running track and outside there is a lap pool. The Gainey Village also has a full service salon and spa (being a member of the Village grants you discounts on all services, sweet) and a Chiropractor’s office! Also, there are always activities put on by the Village that occur outside the facility, like hiking trips, stand up paddle boarding, happy hour get-​togethers and so much more!
It’s gym, salon and country club all-​in-​one, you can’t beat it.

The club is clean and well maintained. The staff is polite, helpful and knowledgable. There are a variety of classes offered throughout the day. These are the hallmarks of a great club and Gainey Village has them.
The problem for me is the unventilated fryer/​grill snack stand in the middle of the club. The smell of fryers and griddles is absolutely thick in the air throughout the entire club like a stale Denny’s. This club used to limit its offerings to healthy wraps, smoothies and salads. No problem — you could take it or leave it. Bad enough a «health» club serves fried foods, it does so without ventilating the fryer smoke through a proper commercial hood.
The heavy, oppressive greasy smell of the place is absolutely off putting and not the setting for a workout that one might want, unless the Village’s target audience is now kids who crave greasy fast food. Unless you get the urge to workout each time you smell fatty smoke, I suggest you consider whether you are willing to adjust your workout schedule to times when the improperly ventilated fried food stand in the middle of the club is closed.

The Village at Gainey Ranch is the best! Great environment, friendly staff, many amenities. I get a great workout in here as well as take advantage of the excellent spa.
Snow is my favorite for my manicures and pedicures.
As for my hair cuts, Crissy rocks!

Amazing health club and spa. Top-​of-​the-​line workout facilities that include basketball courts, a track, racquetball courts, a hot yoga studio, and a café. I’m a big fan of the fitness classes — they offer kinesis, yoga, barre, pilates, zumba, spin, cross fit, etc.
The locker rooms are always clean, stocked with lotions, shampoos, shaving cream, body spray, etc. and feature a Jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. They also have a great salon/​spa!

I love this place. Simple as that. Very nice spa with an exceptional staff, but the work out facilities are just second to none.
I have not tried any of the classes, but I am looking forward to using their child care center for years to come.

Have you ever said to yourself, «I really need to work out but I hate going to my gym. It’s too crowded, I don’t like the other people there, the amenities suck, it smells weird» and on… and on… and on? Don’t lie, 95% of us have been there and said that.
One main reason I love this place: they cap their membership here so they will never be overcrowded, and regardless of the time of day that you come here, it never feels or looks packed.
Tons of amenities like new treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals. Free weights and machines are upstairs with a track that wraps around the upper balcony looking down onto the basketball courts. Plus, lots of class options like yoga, spin, pilates, crossfit, and personal training.
They keep the place spotless, and the locker rooms are huge. They feature a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and towel service. Outside they have a heated lap pool for all the swimmers out there, or for anyone who just wants to lay in the sun and catch some rays. Other benefits include a full service hair salon, massage and spa services, onsite chiropractic, and the Atrium Café which serves up some tasty food and smoothies if you need something to boost that blood sugar before or after a gym session.
Need I say more? This place is awesome, end of story.

Amazing staff, friendly people, great facility! What’s not too like?
Well the only negative about his club is that the swimming lap pool isn’t on the same level as the gym. It’s small and not always clean, a lot of leave and fogy water on some days.

Friendly staff, so many classes, machines all in working order, something for everyone, beautiful pool, immaculately clean locker rooms with all the amenities you could ever want or need, and the standard tasty Village café.
I can’t think of anything I’d want improved!

I wish I had never met Gainey. I wish I had never opened the glass doors and peeked my head in to the treasures that lay inside. I’m ruined for life, no other gym is ever going to compare. Mamma was right when she told me «You get whatchoo pay for» because the membership fees here are outrageous. I think I can justify the cost though… I should spend as much money on keeping myself healthy as I do on keeping myself intoxicated each month. Right?!
Alright, cost aside, here is why Gainey rocks the Health Spa —
The equipment is fairly new and in great shape — The treadmills have individual Ipod docs and televisions and they actually work.
Locker Rooms — WOW! Awesome locker room, well stocked (deodorant, body spay, lotion, shampoo, shaving cream, razors ect) and very clean. There are individual showers and getting ready stations, there is a hot tub, steam room, sauna and an outdoor pool.
STEAM ROOM — You can sit in a large clean steam room and spray Eucalyptus. Breathe in healing scent, sweat out toxins and impurities, breathe in…
Classes — Kick boxing, pilates, yoga ect… Although they do seem to fill up rather quick
I still haven’t bitten the bullet and purchased a membership, but I think I may, it is worth is just for the steam room.
