History

Established in 2001.

With a passion for design and a love of creative spaces, IBD Studio was founded in 2001 by owner, Alisha Newman. The goal for each project is to capture our client’s own style through a process of creativity, attentiveness & knowledge. With an understanding of various styles, talented staff, and friendly service, we are enthused about developing the perfect solution for your home or project.

Alisha has always had a love for space, layout, color and style. As young school girl while classmates were coloring in the lines of their coloring page Alisha turned the page over and counted the ceiling tiles of the classroom to create a scaled grid, redesigned the desks, tables and reading area to create a more functional beautiful classroom interior. To her surprise the next morning her school teacher had followed her redesigned ‘floor plan’ and the story of a future interior designer’s career had begun…

Alisha followed that passion for space and color with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art in Interior Design from Northern Arizona University and was immediately hired by builders and homeowners to design their custom homes. For 14 years Alisha has brought her knowledge of construction, design, color and style to projects in San Diego, California and across Arizona.
