Todd was amazing! At my house the day of my call, fabulous transformation of my backyard plus path lighting in the front within a week. Price was right, service was excellent, thank you Todd!

Trying to put up my Halloween lights and the outdoor outlet appeared DOA. Called North Star as their company address was right down the street. Talked with Todd to set an appointment for the next day. He suggested that I check my GFCI outlets to see if one might need resetting and sure enough, problem solved. A less honest electrician might have not have made the suggestion and instead collected the service call charge plus who knows what! Thanks, Todd! So happy for the treat instead of the trick!

Having just completed the landscaping for a new home, I knew I wanted to compliment it with outdoor lighting. My previous homes had big box store path lighting and they would always fail. They would break, made cheaply, etc. This time I wanted to do it right.
I had several bids from various companies but Todd’s was the most understandable. He carefully explained his warranties, the types of bulbs he uses (and I learned not all bulbs are created equal!!), etc. he’s a lighting artist and came up with the perfect plan. Within a week of our meeting, my yard was finished.
His installation was simple and left the grounds just as he found them. You’d never know he dug a trench around the perimeter.
The quality of his fixtures are amazing –these are the kind of lights you’d see at fine estate homes-​and he’s very reasonably priced! The end result is like fine jewelry on a ball gown!

After putting off the remake of our outdated landscape lights that the previous owner had installed in our home, I started the process of finding a reputable landscape lighting company that would do the work.
I actually called 4 lighting contractors and only 2 came out to give me a quote (even though all four had scheduled appointments with me), and only one was on time. That one person was Todd Meyer with North Star.
We started the process by looking at my current system and we then determined what type of lighting and where the lights should go. Todd had great input in this area, which is helpful since I am not a landscape lighting designer. The next step was to choose the type of lights and then Todd worked up a quote. He was very clear on what would be done and how it was done. I got the quote and compared it to the other company I was considering and decided to go with Todd based on meeting with him and being comfortable with what he proposed.
The work was completed in a day and the house looks great. We do live in a pretty nice neighborhood and now our house really fits in nicely with the other houses that have high quality landscape lighting. Todd came back that night and adjusted the lights and made sure I was happy with how everything was set up.
I would recommend Todd and his crew on just the basis of quality work, honesty and his design input. He didn’t try and upsell me on things that I did not need, and I appreciated that.

WOW! Excellent service, quick install and the final product is out of this world. It’s like coming home to a brand new house. The lighting install produced such a fantastic difference several people have stopped by to ask about the new lights. We are finishing a major back and front yard renovation, and needed a completely new lighting system installed. We had six bids, three from general landscaping contractors and three from outdoor lighting specialists. We were sure that we wanted path lights and all five of the other contractors just followed along with what we said. Then Todd, the owner of North Star, came out and blew us away with his design plan and thinking outside the box. Away with the path light runway look! We ended up with uplights and downlights to accent the house and trees, as well as some strategically placed path lights, but overall less lights than we originally planned for a much more sophisticated and effective ambiance in our yard.
Todd was responsive and on-​hand to answer our questions, and pays great attention to detail, even coming out at night to check that everything was placed just right. You can tell that he really loves his work and has an eye for design. We would definitely recommend him without reservation!

Earlier this year we had North Star Lighting install lighting in our front yard. Todd’s approach was very professional and creative. With some nuanced suggestions by Todd, our property took on a whole new ambiance, and we have received numerous compliments from our friends and neighbors.
