Our 1⁄3 mile track is the only full time Indoor/​Outdoor track in the entire United States! This sleek, modern facility has been designed to deliver the best racing experience imaginable.

Specifically designed for the venue, the track layout is unique in that each lap begins indoors then winds through an outdoor section of the course before returning inside.

Racing at Octane Raceway is scored in a Fastest Lap format, where the driver get in the karts in a random order and race for a set number of laps. The driver with the best lap time wins the race. Click here for more on Karts & Tracks.

History

Established in 2003.

What’s your passion? I was fortunate to find my passion early, when I was traveling in Europe and discovered indoor kart racing, where the sport is huge.

Being the true consultant I was at the time, I immediately started thinking how it could be done bigger and better, and found myself reinventing not only my career but my passion as well. Back in the States, I went to work developing the concept for what Octane Raceway has evolved into today. Our team works together every day to consistently provide the highest level of service and entertainment, with a professional focus on our corporate clients.

11 years later, we are celebrating our anniversary month and cannot believe where the time has gone. We have just been awarded the New Times Best Of — Best Indoor Karting. We have won this award multiple times and are proud to be serving the valley; offering the lowest race prices in the Phoenix Metro area!

Octane is a great place to work and has a great atmosphere. We have many regular customers and repeat corporate clients who really love the Octane Experience and come back time and time again.

We stopped by on a Saturday for a group outing and things were just ok. We got there at 5:45 and it was over 2 hrs before they could accommodate us for a race. We ended up booking a bunch of races in advance just in case so we didn’t have to wait again. The nice thing about purchasing races is if you decide to leave early, just let them know and the races will stay on your account.
I had been to the old location and now the new locations and there are some pros and cons. Pro, new electric carts so no more exhaust smell. Pro, games and mini bowling help to pass the time in-​between races. Con, the AC, seriously this place was so warm I was sweating the entire time. I get it is a large place but it was easily over 85 degrees even after the sun went down. Con, $ 8 for a glass of wine that comes from a tap. Con, took almost 45 min for what looked like a frozen pizza with no one else in the place ordering food. Con, I know I am not the best or fastest racer but I had a grown man flip me off during the race because I was slower than he and his friend and he was unable to pass his friend with me on the right. Grow up, dude. Con, the price, between the 3 races, head sock rental, food/​booze, the evening was well over $ 100+.

This is by far my favorite date place, What’s more fun then getting to compete against your date, build memories and try something new. With the high octane speeds and adrenaline pumping through your body your date with thank you. This place is also great for corporate events or family fun. I highly recommend this place to anyone!!!

This place was amazing! Went go carting with a couple of buddies and it was definitely worth it. We went on a Friday and checking was super easy. On Fridays, they have a $ 10 a race special, so we bought 3 Races to start.
During the first race, the go carts were super slow but after the warm up lap, boom! These things can really move!
We had to wait 30 minutes for our next race, so we used their arcade, which was nice. They have a bar and they have food as well. All in all, it is totally worth going to get your adrenaline fix. Will definitely come back more often!

What a ripoff! For $ 50, we each got to race once. First, we had to pay $ 5/​per person just to be allowed to sign up for races. Then, we were told that the wait was going to be 1.5 hours.
When it was finally time for our race, it was underwhelming. They kept slowing down the cars; I’m not sure how I was supposed to race when half of the laps were at reduced speeds. Also, the space was pretty small so some of the turns were incredibly tight. It was over in about 10 minutes. That’s equal to $ 150/​hr. Uh, no thank you!

Went here with a small group but we were the only ones here. They have a small concessions area with very overpriced items. The races were $ 20 for one raxe. A person spun out in front of me and I was taken off the course for bumping. There is no appealing the decision and you are done if any contact is made. The karts move fairly quickly so the contact is sometime unavoidable if someone wipes out in front of you. Better options out there

Love love love this place. Staff is friendly & helpful. The food is great. We just had my daughter’s birthday party here. The kids had a blast racing but really loved the bowling. Outside seating area is great too. Everything is very clean & top of the line. You should go!

first I’ll tip my cap (or helmet… or whatever) to the staff. they were fantastic. they gave me pointers to help me decimate the competition. which I did. I won 1st the first round and 2nd place the 2nd round. their secret was: gjxisowlanxncjfkdpalcjcnsmslr. decipher that and you’re golden dudes.
the atmosphere is cool. there was 8 of us and we were able to sit at a table already set for us. if you have a bigger party make sure to reserve some spots in advance.
the karts were fun. I was Toad. I was nabbing blue shells left and right. DK and Bowser almost passed me when I hit a turn too fast but with carefully forward launched banana bunches and my trusty star I was able to pass them immediately.

THE GOOD:
The karting is the best! Light weight, good tires, and great acceleration from the electric motors. Fun experience over all. You may even find yourself tired from the steering and G-​forces.
There is arcade games, competitively priced food, though I haven’t tried it and Alcoholic beverages if you’re into that. 3 drink maximum
THE BAD:
It is expensive at $ 20 bucks per race plus 3 dollar helmet rental ($ 1.70/lap or $ 3.30/min.)
Purchase the Titanium pass if you’re going to be there 5 – 10 times a month.
Purchase the annual license if you’re going to go 1 – 2 times a months
Before booking a race i used the online booking tool to check for available times which indicated there were no available races. After a call in to the desk there were 3 available races… okay? I believe the reservation tool is new, so lets give them a pass.
CONCLUSION
Go there and have fun!

We had a corporate event here and it was awesome those go karts really get up and go. Thrre are other things to do like bowling and video games and stuff with the race cars are really fast and it’s really fun

Facility was clean and well maintained. My two kids had a blast and they kept things on schedule so there was no wait. We ordered food and it was good. Refills were .50.

One of the favorites go cart places. Octane racing is pricey but it’s well worth the money. It can get busy there but they have pools tables and restaurants/​bar. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Yes, this place is fun, but way too expensive for what you get! Head sock is extra? I just paid $ 45 for two races, really??? Then there is the wait! Do NOT plan on just showing up, you MUST make reservations! But try telling that to 8 twelve year old boys who had their heart set on racing! 4 hour wait!!! You seriously can’t squeeze a kid in here or there and work it out? NO they don’t give a crap about it either, their attitude is totally «oh, well!!!»
Did I mention how expensive it is? Imagine paying $ 180 for your own 4 kids to do 2 races each! This is insane, I probably would be better off just buying a Kart! I get it, the Karts, equipment, rent, salaries… but why wouldn’t you keep it reasonably priced and get more people in the door? Oh, that’s right… they don’t care!!! Well, guess what, I won’t be back anytime soon, unless I win the lottery, and when I do, I build a competitive track right next door in the old Mervyn’s building and I’ll sell my races for at least ½ of what they charge! And my Karts will be faster!
This review will of course be dropped down into the «reviews not recommended» category so it doesn’t hurt their rating… that they do care about!

This place is fun. A bit expensive. Food is not all that great. I do have to say I had a good time here. Maybe one day I will be back. It is a great place to bring the teens or pre teens. This is the kind of stuff they like. If you want to save money bring the best friend of your kids not the whole crew haha. Maybe get a burger afterwards at a burger shop some where near by. They are currently under construction in a small area in the building. I think it looks like some sort of bowling thing. I could be wrong though.

The building looks very nice and they have computers to sign up and very organized. However I had to wait about an hour to race.(with reservation)
Employees were very professional and they were really watching the race and try to keep the drivers safe. They explained well and I really enjoyed.

PRO’s: The karts are fast, and once you can actually race you will have a lot of fun.
CON’s: Yes, it’s expensive, but that’s not the worst thing in the world. It costs what it costs to run the place, but it’s more about what you get for your money.
— If you don’t schedule a race you will have a bad time, because you will wait for an hour or more to run the track for 10 minutes.
— If you want to play video games you will have a bad time, because the games are in HORRIFIC condition. Falling apart, eats coins, broken or only partially functional, and I’m talking about MOST of the games, not one or two.
— They advertise a Segway course, but it’s a bunch of cones covering 15 – 20 square feet. And they are not out for display. And the employees act like it’s a pain to deal with them. It’s almost like they don’t have them, unless you really, really want to drive one.
— The place just feels dirty. The karts are electric, so it’s not like the place is full of exhaust, it just feels dirty. I felt like I might get sick if I touched the games or tables, and absentmindedly rubbed my eye.
My overall experience was poor. I would not go back, even though the karts are fun, because there is too much other ‘BS’ that makes the experience undesirable. There are other places that have kart racing where the karts are not as fast, but everything else is WAY better, which contributes to a much better experience.

Octane Raceway is awesome and beats several of the other cart places in the Phoenix area. Love that the carts are electric so you don’t have to inhale exhaust. You take a couple rounds around and then stop so they can figure out the start order. Then you race for real.

This place is a blast! Indoor/​Outdoor Kart Racing fun. You can bring the family or co-​workers here. A few of us in the office opted to come here one day after work instead of a happy hour get together. We had a blast! The best part? You can still grab a Beer or two at the bar… so you can still imbibe if that’s your deal. However, you can’t drive the karts if you’ve had more than 1 drink… so I recommend having a drink, then driving, then having more drinks afterward.

Prices are a bit high in my opinion, but I don’t frequent kart tracks. Good place, won’t come back if I have to pay full price.

So, I have to admit, when I initially saw the racetrack and electric cars I was not convinced that this would be a lot of fun. How fast can electric cars in an indoor track really go?
Turns out, pretty dang fast.
This place is immaculately clean and they have plenty of activities to keep your group occupied while waiting for your time slot. Arcade games, a climbing wall, a snack bar to name a few.
The race was a blast, you are given a paper copy of your scorecard and one is also emailed to you.
The only reason I have rated at 4 stars is that it is a little pricey for a few minutes on the track and the wait time, we went on a weekday and still had to wait nearly two hours for a time slot.
