Scottsdale Links Resort

I am embarrassed to say that I am a lifetime Diamond member (not by choice, my last timeshare company was bought out by Diamond, so no choice in the matter). I am even more embarrassed that I allowed Diamond to dupe me into staying at another one of their dumpy hotel, motel, apartment rentals! The sad part is, my stay was completely free, so you would think I would be satisfied with that, NOPE, low standard accommodations as usual. Hey, if you are comfortable with staying at a mediocre, 3-​star, stained carpet, no room service, with a make-​shift hotel check-​in lobby, and slick timeshare sales representatives demanding your time at one of their presentations to recruit new suckers and up-​sell current suckers, then this resort is right up your alley, and you’ll love it! As for me, this will be my last resort, thank God I have two other timeshares with Hilton and Palace Resorts, «QUALITY» is everything!

Wow this place is breath-​taking. It’s like an apartment, so worth every cent!
They are currently under construction, so finding the front desk was like a drive in a circle. But don’t let their jammed look throw you off. The renovation was for their lobby so understandable! They were quick and efficient, so ready to help and make your stay better (if possible!) The front desk helped us navigate how to get to our room. He said he called a bellman to help with our luggage but that never happened. Oh wells!
This place is seriously like a personal apartment! You walk in and there’s a fully functional kitchen. Honestly, this alone blew my mind! There is a refrigerator, microwave, stove-​top, oven, coffee-​maker, automatic can opener. Upon further roaming there’s stoves, pots, pans, utensils, cooking utensils (can opener, wine bottle opener, etc.) Even a water boiler, more trash bags, a little pamolive dishwasher soap. Just so much more than basic amenities! Also a little island that has seats perfect for breakfast!
There’s a central «dinner table» area /​work area. complete with four chairs around a table underneath a chandelier with two seats on the side. Four outlets in every corner. it opens up to the living room and the kitchen. Livingroom has a love seat couch, two solo couch, a coffee table and a dresser with a mounted tv that moves to different angles! Door to the balcony with a coffee table and chairs outside.
There’s a little hallway that leads to the washer/​dryer, imagine that, a hotel with a personal sized washer/​dryer, complete with a basket and complimentary first load detergent! The bathroom had a bathtub, immaculate doesn’t even begin to describe how great the tub looked. I typically never take a bath, overly concerned with it being dirty. But with a bit of music and candles this was a getaway spa experience!
This place comes with one or two bedrooms, we had one. There was a king sized bed with two side tables complete with lamps on each side (no more debating who turns off the light!) There’s another flat screen in the bedroom, with awesome channels! (I’m personally a sucker for the food network) Then the walk-​in closet puts most hotel rooms to shame, let alone compare it to another closet.
The pool was very nice! There’s a bin of toys for kids/​adults to use in the family pool. In the adult pool there were a couple noodles, otherwise it’s a fairly decent sized pool. However, beware, the pool only goes to 5’1.5 ft so DO NOT DIVE.
Complimentary ice cream, coffee, pastries and a welcome bag! So nice. Before even entering concierge, Rebecca greeted us and opened the door for us to get our goodies. After receiving goodies the concierge team helps you able to: plan out trips, find dining places (Diamond Resorts has deals with some for free dessert, or whatnot, and honestly it feels like a VIP service from the restaurants. She also helped us book another trip!
Overall, this place was an amazing, breath-​taking experience and I cannot wait for the next experience to come!

I’ve been to Arizona a few times now and this time my boyfriend and I wanted to try a villa instead of a hotel. Man am I happy we made that decision. We had booked our rooms with hotel tonight app. A week prior to arriving to Arizona. We originally had hotel rooms but last minute we decided to switch to the villa. The front desk employee Mike was very helpful and guided us to our villa. They have over 17 villas I believe 3 floors each. We had reserved the one bedroom villa. The villa was fully equipped with the living room, dinning room, kitchen, bathroom, walking closet and the balcony. What more can you ask for??? Practically your own apartment for your stay in Arizona. This will be the only place we stay in Arizona from now on. Thank you so much for everything!!!

Recently renovated. Very clean and spacious. Pool was immaculate with staff cleaning up after guests periodically. They have a huge bun of pool toys for kids to borrow, and huge pool /​beach towels in room. (Not the dinky thin kind). I also appreciated the complimentary toiletry bag. We travel a lot only staying at 4 – 5 star hotels and this was on par with our expectations. I am also extremely picky about cleanliness due to my one child’s allergies. Other comments may have reflected pre renovation conditions as it is now lovely and all linens looked new or like new and freshly washed down to the blankets. Only complaint is there is no food service on premise.

Take notice to their 10:00am checkout which is super early (industry standard). I stayed for 2 days and even thou I had (privacy do not disturb) on the door. I received multiple calls and knocks on the door from staff to find out when I was leaving. NOT STAYING THERE EVER AGAIN.

First of all Carpets are disgusting and I really can’t get over that. You are afraid to walk at all because there is black spots everywhere. If you are planning to cook please make sure to wash all the things that you use because those are super dirty too. Everything is outdated, old and dirty.

Nice complex. 2 bed/​2bath was large and comfortable. Amenities in the unit were nice. No time share pressure /​it was offered & declined; no further discussion about it. Close to restaurants, movies, shopping, Trader Joes, & Whole Foods. Great place to stay. One star off for no elevators.

I read a lot of mixed reviews about this place and was a bit apprehensive before our arrival. I have to say we had a pretty good time here. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It would be nice if they had an on-​site restaurant or pool service but we cooked our meals on the community grills and took our snacks and drinks with us to the pool so it worked out just fine. Some reviews complained about airport noise and traffic but we felt it was no big deal. By the way, we were not pressured into a time share presentation either.

We spent a weekend here for no particular reason. It’s a Diamond Resort, and we own a timeshare that was another company recently bought by Diamond. I’ve stayed in other Diamond resorts (Polo Towers, Carriage House, Bell Rock, The Ridge at Sedona) before, and I’m always happy with the general condition of their rooms.
This was no exception. The room was HUGE. The one bedroom was significantly larger than my wife’s condo back east. Separate dining room, balcony, and the largest closet I’ve ever seen outside of a regular house. I’d stay there again. Hell, if I could find that same floorplan as a condo in Vegas, I’d buy it.
And then there’s the staff. While outwardly friendly, I have a theory. I think that Diamond secretly kidnaps each employee’s wife and/​or children and keeps them hostage until the employee is able to talk an unsuspecting patron into attending a Diamond sales presentation. Because there’s no other explanation for the vigorous, high-​pressure, hostage-​crisis situation they create every single time you interact with them. Anyway, once one particular employee (I’ll call him Kenny, because that’s his name) found out we had bought into another company that was bought by Diamond, he cornered my poor wife and convinced her that friendly Diamond employees would be able to answer all of her questions about the integration/​merger if she agreed to attend a seminar the next day. Mercifully, my phone rang and I had to go take a call at that exact time, and I’m kinda lucky to still be married at this point.
Anyway, we headed to the designated place at the designated time, and based on years of experience dodging timeshare presentations, I was immediately able to smell a rat. So when Little Miss Friendly came out and introduced herself, I told her straight out that «if this is a sales pitch about buying Diamond, you can forget it. We were told that you’d be answering our questions about Diamond’s purchase of our old company.» She fessed up, which may be the first time I’ve ever NOT been lied to by a timeshare employee. (I feel sorry for her family).
So, we extricated ourselves and were able to enjoy our day without having to risk Stockholm Syndrome. But we still don’t know shit about how Diamond’s purchase of our old timeshare company.

Don’t stay here! Not the resort they post on their brochures! The rooms stink! The furniture is shabby dirty and old. I checked in they moved me, then gave me another room with lots of damage. Broken furniture. Etc!
No elevators!
I could not check out because they have a 48hr check out notice. I would have to pay for two night!
Motel 6 is better than this!!!
Over priced! Not worth your money!

If you make the mistake and get a room here– DO NOT get sucked into any of the timeshare presentations! They will offer $ 75-​$ 100 just to go, and they will say it’s not a «high pressured» meeting, but it is. It’s actually a huge scam that Diamond resorts is running! As far as the rooms here, they are nice… But this company is all about getting you to become an «owner». So once you are in their territory– they will constantly bug he crap out of you to try and attend one of these meetings. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Any location run or owned by Diamond resorts is pathetic and likes to try and scam their guests.

This has been our home away from home for the last 4 weeks. Everyone has been great, especially the front desk staff and maintenance. We had some issues with our safe but they got it fixed quickly.
My only complaints are the furniture (really not comfortable at all) and the sheets on the bed (flat sheets are horrible, fitted is so much nicer).
Even though the furniture wasn’t all that comfy, we’d still recommend and stay again.

I’d give them 5 stars except I don’t think the woman working with the kids crafts is very good with children. I don’t know her name, but she’s got long red hair and freckles. She seems passive aggressive and not good with kids. One girl asked if she could leave when she was done, and the employee stated in a condescending voice, «you aren’t a prisoner»
Other than that, everything else was great.

Weve been owners with Diamond Resorts for over 11 years. It’s definitley a love /​hate relationship for us. Disappointed with our lastest week stay at the Links… see pics for some ideas. Bed was hard, place was run down, our housekeeping services sucked, ceiling fan was broken, faucet was loose, carpet was stained, furniture out dated… just an all around disappointment. Did like that we had a 3 bedroom room… and love having a kitchen and flat screen tv’s in all the rooms. They also blocked off the parking spaces closest to our unit to stage new mattresses. When we left no one asked how our stay was, but my wife volunteered an answer… they just dont care once you have fallen for the con of ownership.

Let me start by saying we are NOT Diamond Resort owners (we just go when invited by our friend) so I don’t know what any other properties look like, but we thought this place was fantastic! We enjoyed Memorial Day weekend here and were very happy with everything. The unit was spotless, beds were very comfy (even the pull out couch bed) they had EVERYTHING you would need from laundry soap, dish soap, new sponges, all utensils, cooking pots, pans and pool towels. Our unit even had laundry! So convenient! The décor was nice and updated. The kitchen and baths had granite counter tops and the kitchen appliances (coffer maker, toaster etc.) were all stainless steel cuisinart.
The patio/​balcony was large and had a table big enough for 5 people and we ate outside AM and PM, never used the formal dining room. There are 2 pools, and «adult» and «kids». We went to the family pool. It was huge. They had pool activities for kids (and adults) I played bingo from my pool chair haha! There is also a BBQ area with Gas grilles and seating, TV’s and shaded patio areas for groups, along with a kids play area, grass, and oversize chess/​checkers area and ping pong tables. I thought the grounds were well kept and didn’t see anything in disrepair. There was also plenty of parking.
A few things I noted: we were on the 3^rd floor and there are NO elevators, but luckily we didn’t have much stuff. But for a long term stay those stairs would get old after awhile! Actually, the view was a lot nicer up there. I noticed the 3 AC units are on the first floor, so some unfortunate unit likely heard 3 AC’s cranking outside their window. That would be a bummer! Also, the Scottsdale airport is RIGHT next door so you will see and hear planes landing. It’s relatively quiet between 10 pm and 6 am and was not too bad, but we definitely heard planes and jets landing.
So we were definitely happy with our stay. Why purchase a time share when you have friends who have one? We had a great relaxing weekend!

We stayed here during Super Bowl (in Glendale) and PHX Open week… so a crowd was to be expected… Arrived around 10am hoping to check in early, we were able too. Sweet bonus. We were given a few room options to choose from, and went with a recently renovated unit in building 13 facing Bell Road. The walking crowd and shuttle buses going to and from the PGA event were expected, and was great people watching entertainment. (There was an hourly shuttle to/​from front door access to the PHX Open as well. Special props to Tyler for his great attitude and always cheerful personality.) After Sunday, however, Bell Road can be a noisy street during the morning rush. Definitely choose a newly renovated unit, but maybe rethink any facing Bell.
Our room had a slight musty smell, almost mildew-y…but some cheap candles from the grocery store and the opened patio doors helped that. We stayed in a 2 bedroom /​2 bathroom unit with a full size kitchen. Perfect for dining in and not having to eat out all the time. Great size patio/​balcony accessible thru the second bedroom, and door from the living room. Two full size bathrooms, and each bedroom had a walk-​closet available with plenty of hangers. It was easy to ‘move-​in’ and enjoy our time here.
Two pools and two hot tubs are within walking distance from any building. We had the hot tub within the adults pool area to ourselves daily. All of the pool areas were neatly kept and pools were clean. The patio areas were also lined with water features and BBQ grills to use, and a life size chess board. Upon check in we were also given a weekly schedule… there are tons of things to do, and in every age group. And the fitness center is open 24 hours.
The staff was all very friendly and helpful. As was housekeeping. The rooms could use a few additional towels though. But… there’s was also a full size washer and dryer in our place.
All in all, our stay here was great, and we won’t hesitate to come back again.

It’s FEBRUARY 13, 2015 today and I am still trying to get back my $ 100 incidentals deposit here. I’ve called several times asking to speak with a manager about my deposit refund issue. Everyone says it’s not their fault and passes the buck. They have NOT refunded my deposit and it’s now been TWO months! What the hell?!
Not impressed by any means…
Stayed here for a week of work because the price was right ($ 129/​night purchased through our timeshare trade) and I wanted to stay at someplace other than a hotel. «Resort» sounds nice, but it isn’t a resort. It’s a refurbished condo property.
Checking in was a timeshare sales pitch, that I didn’t appreciate. Already have one at a five star property, don’t need another one, especially one that is basically an apartment complex next to a very busy road.
The condo was clean and comfortable enough, but found two of the lights with non-​working lightbulbs and the tv remote missing it’s batteries immediately after coming in the door. Told the front desk in person about the maintenance issues, and they attempted another time share sales pitch. They eventually took notes about my issues and said they’d send someone to fix it. I told them after 2pm, because I have to rest before work, but they came up right away disturbing my nap. They only fixed the lights, not the tv remote. Awesome.
No bar or restaurant on property (the website is misleading). Wifi isn’t free. It’s an extra $ 25 for the week, not a big deal but it’s the little things…
This isn’t a resort. I’m sorry that I didn’t research the details before booking, because I normally would NOT stay at a place like this. I should’ve paid the extra $ 30/​night and stayed at the Hilton resort (a real resort!) The Links is a big FAIL. :-(

I would actually give it 2.5 because it does not meet the standards
of any RESORT we’ve ever stayed in (we stay in Resorts 2 – 3 times a year).
It does not have a restaurant. Both swimming pools are to one end of the property making it inconvenient for most guests. Dose not have attractive grounds. It’s in the middle of a business district (not retail shops) but it is easy access to a freeway and close for shopping, restaurants and grocery store.
The units are nice and roomy and the 2 bedroom unit has laundry facilities.
Our problem was that al the living room furniture (love seat & 2 chairs) were very uncomfortable, with no lumbar support. Using the pillows from the bed helped but
not as much as we would have liked. Towels were a bit rough.
Staff was friendly and maintenance took care of a couple of problems we had. They also offered us another unit but we chose to stay and wait for parts that needed to be ordered.
Approx. 10 miles to nice mall, Old Town, Civic Center (beautiful!!!) and other districts.

Stayed here during a convention in Phoenix. A little bit of a drive but we had stayed at the older sister property a few years ago, so decided to go with what we knew.
When we told the front (at check-​in) that we wouldn’t be able to attend any presentation for any extra gifts they weren’t pushy at all. I really appreciate that. You definitely don’t always get that from timeshares.
Jacuzzis were great — timer was about 15 – 20 minutes. Pool was decent temp. Both very clean.
Facilities were new — gym had great equipment. Table tennis was fully equipped. BBQs were clean. Fire pit also on a timer — could have been stronger; you couldn’t roast marshmallows on that.
2BR was great, just wish there were elevators. Parking was good — we didn’t walk more than a few steps no matter what time we would arrive.
Wifi is pricey though, just a heads-​up. Also, no tennis courts here but I remember the sister property having one, right?

Just spent my last weekend at the Scottsdale Links Resort and have to say I am very impressed. This was a quick stay near home vacation right in the heart of the valley of the sun. The spacious room made me feel right at home. Full service kitchen and wash room to help my long stay comfortable. The rooms are so large you can move around easily. The patio is fully furnished you love to just sit on the patio and relax. Even the pull out sofa bed was mighty comfortable because it memory foam for the extra comfortable feeling. Nice size flat screen in the family and master bedroom.
This is the perfect location to bring the kids and family. BBQ grills with nice open cabanas. Along with a HUGE pool and a beautiful sprinkler system for the kids to play. There is a clean workout room for all the fitness fans. They even had movie night by the pool where they had a super duper large inflatable screen to watch a movie with the kids.
