Whenever I am looking to find a new service provider, I look for a Groupon, right? I hit the Jackpot this time with Jennifer (Jen)!!!
I have been growing my hair out from a pixie and was so sick of the «in betweens.» I was ready to give up and chop it off but Jen convinced me to be patient and that I was almost through the rough part. She took out some of the bulk (I have a TON of hair) and told me next appointment I should be where I need to be for the style I wanted. She didn’t touch the length, just lightened the load a bit, lol. It looked great and felt much better.
5 weeks later, I went again and got the best haircut of my life! To my delight, she cut my hair dry, again, so that she could see how my crazy hairline grows and how to cut WITH the cowlicks so that I wouldn’t have to fight them. The result was a haircut that literally falls into place AND it’s so versatile that I can blow it straight or let it air dry wavy.

I have had a great haircut and color here-​the stylists take time to listen to what you want and are very talented. They use Aveda products which smell really really great and are all natural.

I had Chandler, my husband had Tuan. We both had 60 minute massage. Both of us were so happy with the massage that we booked again for later this month.

I came across this place via Groupon for a 90 minute massage. While looking at their website I noticed they had $ 40 hair cuts which I thought was pretty reasonable these days. So I decided to make an appt. To which they offered me a Groupon deal of $ 20! I’m always a little nervous going somewhere new to get my hair cut, especially since I wanted something more than just a trim. Katie was who I got and she was SO great! For one, it can always be a little awkward if the person can’t hold a conversation. We chatted most the entire time and it wasn’t awkward at all. I gave her an idea and showed a picture of what I wanted. She asked me hair related questions throughout (leaving me with longer layers since I have to wear mine up at work). I felt like she knew exactly what I wanted without me really having to say anything! I’m so happy to say I found someone who I will continue going back to! The receptionist at the front desk was also wonderful! Very attentive and kind.

BEWARE!!! I had the worst haircut ever, my hair is uneven, random long pieces sticking out of the blunt cut. I was going to get a «style» but when I met the stylist, well, then it was «just even it up take off about 3 inches», it is a disaster. I have been on vacation and can’t see the back of my head, then a friend said to me «are you trying a different haircut bc it is NOT even close to even». The stylist was «Katie» or something like that, young girl, very short dark hair and large «gauging» earrings. Very unhappy…

What a great experience with all our services! Love my lashes by Amanda & massage by Tuan! My daughters hair for prom came out amazing with full highlights, cut and up-do…thank you Katie! Everyone was very professional and accommodating. We’ll be back!

My 60 minute massage was only 45 minutes. My massage therapist came to get me at 1:05. We went into the room, he talked for a few minutes, stepped out for me to change and came back in at 1:10. He finished the massage at 1:55. I was in my car by 2. Huge disappointment.

Weirdest spa experience ever! I had a coupon for a $ 45 facial peel. Well, you get what you pay for. I assumed the peel would include a regular facial but I was wrong. My treatment literally took 15 minutes. My aesthetician cleansed my face, put on the peel, put on some moisturizer & that was it. I was looking forward to a nice spa experience but this was just slapping on some product. The staff is friendly, though. I recommend buying an at-​home facial peel instead. I feel like a total idiot for paying $ 45 for this service.

Was just in for a message and then therapist was amazing. The Shona Salon and Spa is well laid out and provides services that many large Salon and Spa’s don’t provide. The staff is friendly, professional and provides a high level of customer service. I sill definitely be a repeat customer.

Had the best mani and pedi here! On Tuesdays they have an unbelievable deal for $ 30 for both a mani and pedi — completely relaxing and one of the best I’ve had! Highly recommended!

Called in to make an appointment for the same day. Confirmed appointment with receptionist. Arrived early to do paperwork. Was told Brian wouldn’t be able to keep appointment due to car accident days earlier. A waste of my time and there are too many great salons in Scottsdale to deal with poor service and lack of care for customers schedules. Appointment was made within an hour of me arriving. Car accident had nothing to do with situation.

They had a special where you buy a 100 dollar gift card for only 50 bucks, great deal. Even though they were super booked, they were able to get me in early on Saturday. Bri did my hair and she did an amazing job, my hair is super damaged and fine and she was still able to lighten it without frying my hair. She massaged my head while washing my hair, I almost fell asleep because it was so nice and relaxing. After she dried it, my hair looked and felt so healthy and soft. Bri even recommended products to me without being pushy about it. I ended up picking out something to help reduce the damage in my hair, it was 15 percent off products too! Even more off if you bought more than one. The bill wasn’t bad at all, very reasonable for a high end salon. The two front desk ladies were very sweet and helpful too. Janet is one of them and she rocks! Will definitely be back :)

I went into this salon after reading a newspaper ad. Looked at Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Ok, so I will tell you that I was a former hairdresser, for twelve years! Left less than one year ago to pursue a new career. It has been EXTREMELY difficult to find anyone that takes their time and actually listens to what I want. Also, my hair is not difficult. Only requires partial foil and trim. Everyone seems to leave «bleeders» or leaves my hair uneven! But on this particular day I found ASHLEY DEVORE! She not only took the time to listen, but took extra care of my hair needs. She is very very easy to talk to and my experience was extremely pleasant!!! I even booked again. My only fear is that she will be so booked, I won’t be able to get in when needed. I will add, I never met her before it was so nice to find someone with over ten years of experience!

So found this great deal in Groupon and was excited to come for a massage! I booked a same day appointment which was nice because they had a cancellation. The spa area was really nice and relaxing so the setting is good despite being in a strip mall. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, hence the two stars.
Now for the actual service. My masseuse either did not know what he was doing it was totally checked out for that day because he didn’t even try to work a single knot out of my back or shoulders (the two areas I asked specifically asked to focus on). It was like a back rub not a massage.
Additionally, i asked him to make it warmer in the room, I don’t think He did. Then when he briefly massaged my feet they were freezing, I said «sorry my feet are cold» hoping he’d get my hint, but instead he said «oh that’s okay». Usually I would get a nice toasty blanket or something, but not today. Also I’ve had a lot of massages, but never did a masseuse actually pour oil directly onto my skin — I could literally feel the drops sliding down my arms haha I can’t help but laugh at this point because what’s a girl to do! The whole thing left a bit to be desired. Not sure if I got a bad masseuse or what but I don’t think I’ll be back. So disappointed!

Worst massage experience of my life. I was surprised with having a guy therapist — it’s fine, I just would have liked to know. Then the music in the room didn’t work, so I got to relax to the sounds of this guy digesting his lunch. The oil he used on me smelled one in the bottle, but once it was on my skin, I thought I was going to be sick it smelled so bad. I had to shower as soon as I got home. The actual massage was awful too — the therapist focused on the strangest areas (the top of my hands, back of my knee) and his nails were so long, they kept stabbing me. I have never wanted to get out of a supposedly relaxing experience so badly.

Despite being about to close, they took me in to give me a great cut, making their selves late to close for the day. And despite me coming at the last minute, were very warm and welcoming and did not make me feel they were in a hurry. I highly recommend them.

What a great experience! I came here with the wife. I had the 90 minute massage with Julie and the wife had her nails done.
My massage was great! She made sure I was comfortable before starting. She was not too hard nor too light… just perfect. At the end, I was so relaxed I think I went into a light sleep.
Wife said a lot of the equipment was brand new and the staff was great. She had a good experience. Which is great because I will be back.

The truth is that I haven’t yet been to this spa, but the kindness and help that has been provided from the staff thus far is pretty amazing and deserving of a review. I’ll update later with our spa experiences!
I contacted Shona Salon to see if they had two appointments this weekend for 90-​minute massages (it’s my hubs and my birthday weekend and we’re planning a staycation). It’s kind of late notice, and I didn’t expect to have any luck. The kind woman who answered the phone said they only had one appointment available, but she would call me back if any other openings came up. A couple hours later, I received a call from the manager. He’s incredibly kind and explained that they have an on-​call massage therapist who may come in this weekend, and that he’ll try to arrange it so that we can grab the open appointments. If this all works out, we’ll have the greatest staycation! If not, I can at least say that I stumbled across a great salon and spa with amazing customer service. That’s surprisingly hard to get these days.

Seriously a nice warm welcoming solan. The staff takes times to listen to your needs and wants and makes them happen. It’s clean and greatly priced will definitely go there again and I can’t wait to do so!

I tried Shona Spa for an afternoon of pampering with an Aveda Glow & Go Facial and a Rosemary Mint Awakening Body Wrap. Amanda was my aesthetician — so professional! I love that they have genuine Aveda products, they smell AMAZING! The Facial was excellent, but the Body Wrap — whoa — it made me the good kind of tingly all over, and if that wasn’t enough they have this kind of shower with multiple heads that moves OVER YOU as you are lying down — a ton of warm water pours on top of you and rinses you off. I never experienced getting a shower lying down — it was super relaxing and luxurious. I can’t wait to return!
