Teres was such a cute and quaint nail salon and the atmosphere was simple yet luxurious. My technician did a great job and I’m pleased with how my mani/​pedi turned out, but the process felt minimalistic (clean your nails and paint them). You’re basically paying to sit in a beautiful salon, I don’t think the experience was worth how much is being charged.

The only nail salon I go to! Five stars for the atmosphere, the stylists, and their membership program. The salon is super cute and always clean. The stylists are polite and talented and they have excellent customer service (I’ve come back in with a chip and they’ve fixed it for me). Their membership program make their services even more reasonably priced. LOVE Teres and would recommend both Rose and Elle!

The manager went out of her way to contact me and get me back in to fix my nails. They were extremely accommodating and made things right. I will be back again since they took great care of me after my first review.

I absolutely love coming here every two weeks to get my nails done. When I first moved to Old Town Scottsdale I had a hard time finding a good nail salon. Sharon has been doing my gel overlay for a year now and I couldn’t be happier. I now live in north Scottsdale but I still drive 30 minutes to see Sharon.

I don’t know if I had a horrible experience or what but I was in this past weekend and was not impressed. I called ahead of time to make sure they had time and they said to come in so I did. I wanted a soak on my nails and toes then a polish change on my toes as well. The receptionist (I guess) didn’t know I had gel on my toes and the tech guy didn’t have time to finish my toes so I had to go to an another nail salon that day to get a gel polish change on my feet. The receptionist apologized but how embarrassing. Worst customer service ever and I doubt I will be back even though they offered 2 free polish changes. Additionally, they didn’t even do a good job getting my gel off my nails. My nails are ruined and in horrible condition now. You can see the base coat still. See pictures for proof.

FIVE STARS FOR SHARON AND ALLISON (and not just because we share a name)
I no longer live in Scottsdale, but miss having Sharon do my nails, as I haven’t found my Sharon in Austin. I could bring her any picture of crazy, artsy nails, and she could get it done (or suggest something better) in half the time of the other technicians. As much as I love having my nails look nice, I HATE (wish there was a bold or italicize function on Unilocal) the actual process of getting my nails done. Sharon would have me in and out for shellac in 20 minutes with amazing looking nails – my hero.
I only had my nails done by Allison twice, but she was awesome both times. She went on maternity leave; by the time she got back, I was hooked on Sharon.
I felt that the price was comparable to other nail salons in the area. No salon is perfect, so I won’t pretend there weren’t issues in certain regards. However, I never had a notable wait; my appointment was always respected; the salon was clean; I always had beautiful nails – pretty much all I could expect out of a nail salon, which is why it gets 5 stars.

This is a great place. Nice people and this is the perfect place to relax after a long week. You can’t go wrong to come here. They have dozens of different colors to choose from and dozens or relaxing treatments. I will definitely be back and recommend anyone to come here for a good relaxing time.

I am in town for a few days and teres is only a few blocks from my hotel. I walked in without an appointment for a mani/​pedi. They were very accommodating and took me in under ten minutes. My manicurist, Elle, and the receptionist were down to earth and warm. My bar was clean and chic and my nails came out great. Definitley worth a stop if you are in the area.

Really nice spot– I was so excited to find it and see that they had an express pedicure– which was listed for $ 15 on website but was actually $ 23. Apparently the service is just file and polish and nothing else– not even a rinse off of my feet that were showing signs of having been walking around all day and were dirty… Nor would they let me sit and enjoy the environment to let my $ 23 polish job dry– it wasn’t even busy but apparently I could only wait up front in reception (without any kind of fan) if I didn’t want to put my shoes back on and ruin the polish job. I understand the concept of an express pedicure but leaving with wet polish on dirty feet isn’t exactly what I was paying for.
Update– the polish only lasted one day before completely chipping off on three toes. Apparently I was wrong about the pricing listed in the website– members get a discount. Apparently my expectations were too high for wanting clean feet and a polish job that lasted more than 24 hours for $ 23.

After multiple mediocre experiences here, I am happy to report that I have found a nail tech I trust to provide excellent service and a fantastic mani! I exclusively see Allison when I come to Teres because she is truly the best here! Not only is she great at what she does, but she also makes me feel welcome and really changed my opinion about Teres.
After manicures with four or five other ladies (and one dude), I wasn’t feeling it and didn’t plan to return to Teres. A friend saw Allison and only had good things to say, so I booked an appointment with her as my «last chance.» I’m glad I did! She is down-​to-​earth, funny and friendly. She is also insanely good at doing nails. I have seen her a few times in the last two months and I always leave very happy! Thank you Allison! See you soon!

I’ve been to Teres once before for a friends’ bachelorette and it was a nice experience. The place is cute inside and clean.
Unfortunately, today was the total opposite experience for me and a group of friends who came here to enjoy a nice pedicure together. We were running a little late, as our lunch down the street took a lot longer than usual — so we called ahead to let them know and make sure it was okay and apologized (we were about 10 min late), which didn’t seem to be a problem for them on the phone. Upon our arrival, we were told we would only be able to get an «express pedicure» which excluded the soak, massage and pretty much everything else except for a nail file and the polish. While this wasn’t ideal, we went with it. Once we were all done, the girls working immediately stood up, not even 1 minute after finishing, and pretty much kicked us out of the chairs because they «had other appointments» which normally was totally fine, but we were confused as nobody was in the lobby waiting. We didn’t even get one minute to sit and let them dry and my friend ended up smudging hers in the process of just standing up. After paying $ 23 for a polish job we proceeded to watch all the girls that just did our nails run across he street for lunch. We were so disappointed and offended, especially since there were NO customers after us and clearly the girls just wanted us to leave so they could run out for a coffee break right in front of us!!!
I am in the customer service industry and while it can be challenging, today’s experience was horrible and clearly they cared more about a cup of coffee/​snack than getting more money and doing a full pedicure that clearly would have been no problem to do. I will not be returning to Teres after this experience today!

This place is great! The décor is gorgeous, upscale and relaxing. They worked me in for a pedicure with a half hour notice and the girl at the front desk was extremely welcoming and chatty. Great customer service.
The pedicure bench has lush cushions and plenty of space to relax. They use all Essie polish and have a great color selection. Elle, did a perfect job on my nails. It can get a little pricey once you start adding on extras (paraffin, sugar scrub, etc) but it is definitely worth it.
This will be my go to nail spot when I travel to Phoenix!

teres |A NAIL BAR has the worst costumer service EVER! I tried to book a party with them from my bridesmaids. They send me a document which I filled out and returned. Not hearing anything from them for 3 – 4 days I decided to look for a new salon. Then I started getting emails and text messages asking me for another contract that they never gave me and credit card information. It was absolutely abserd. Then when I went to call today the manager Sydney told me that I was no longer a welcome costumer and wouldn’t give me the name of her direct superior. She then told me that I have a bad attitude. Well… I think she was the one with the bad costumer service. Here is their Facebook account and website.

If you are worthy of being a costumer then ask for SYDNEY!!! She is a GEM!!! Seriously a very kind easy to work with women!!! (Note the sarcasm)

I visited teres as a birthday treat from my hubby. My experience was pretty great!
I received my pedi from Daniel. (I think he is the manager or owner) He was phenomenal. Super fun to talk to and full of stories! He gives an AMAAAAZING foot massage. If you’re looking for a footgasm, go see him.
I received my mani from Allison and she is simply amazing. I was SO indecisive of my color choice that I ended up just telling her to pick what she thought would compliment my skin tone! She picked a fabulous pink and I became obsessed. She kept up good conversation and was very personable. I will be back to see her!
The only thing keeping me from giving a 5-​Star review is the front desk. I am in the customer service industry and have worked the front desk for several major Spas and Salons. I know fabulous customer service and I did not receive it. The girl was sweet and friendly, but did not explain anything to me! I was pretty disappointed that I wasn’t made aware that if you wanted scrubs or designs you needed to BOOK extra time. I understand paying for it, to an extent. I firmly believe that it is not the Nail Designers job to give in depth information on add ons, memberships, ect. I waited about 10 minutes for my reservation and she just sat at the desk. No small talk, no informative introduction, (pre-​chat, if you will) nothing!
Thankfully, Allison, the ambiance and footgasm will keep me coming back. Maybe Allison will get me started on a membership. ;)

I’m rather sporty and low-​maintenance, but my one concession to stereotypical femininity is that I absolutely must have pretty toenails. My sister gave me a gift card to Teres for my birthday, so I decided to check it out. I liked the experience so much that I signed up for the membership plan, which makes the services even more affordable.
The atmosphere is relaxing. It has more of a spa-​like vibe to it than a typical nail salon. Also, it doesn’t smell like a nail salon.
The services are a la carte, and nobody tries to upsell me. It’s nice because I can pick whichever services I want on a particular day. All of the people who have done my nails have been great. They’re good at determining when I’m in the mood to chat and when I’m in the mood to zone out or read a book.
After reading an investigative journalism piece in the New York Times a few months back about the terrible working conditions in most nail salons, I started to feel a bit guilty about my sparkly toe obsession. However, after talking with the employees at Teres, I feel confident that I’ve found an ethical salon. The employees are treated well and paid fairly. The ones I’ve talked to all say they’re happy and feel valued.
I find it very convenient to be able to schedule my appointments online, and it’s easy to get a same-​day appointment if I’m looking to get in at the last-​minute. Teres has become my go-​to salon!

I was so disappointed by Teres. I came here the last week of my pregnancy, ready for some pampering before the big day. I made an appointment and arrived 5 minutes early. 40 minutes later, I was seated for my pedicure without any mention of the delay.
Without too many boring details, the next 90 minutes included my nail tech cutting my toe, cutting a cuticle on my finger (because she was talking to another tech and not paying attention) and a conversation between employees about going to Mexico, getting drunk and flashing people. I gave this place a shot because they market themselves as an upscale salon. My experience included upscale prices but poor service/​quality.

I am a member at Teres, so I go once or twice a month. Compared to other places, their gels last a LOT longer, and don’t peel as badly, in my experience. The technicians I have worked with do a great job, and are happy to either chat with you or let you relax, depending on your mood. I had a gel Mani/​Pedi before New Year’s, and really enjoyed the experience. The massages, oils and atmosphere are relaxing, and I feel like, with a membership, it’s worth the price for a monthly splurge.
As far as opportunities to improve go, their booking system has been having problems since I began using Teres in October. Apparently, a lot of customers are in the system twice, which makes online booking difficult, and I realized that I missed my discount one month because it was not applied to my total (I popped up in the system as a non-​member), so now I consistently remind them both before my appointment and at checkout to apply the correct price. Also, their chalkboard advertises specials that are no longer valid. I realize that it’s likely painted on, but the technicians have voiced to me that those deals stopped «a long time ago». To me, that’s no problem at all, but it’s probably worthwhile to remove them from the board, as it may impact customers’ choices.
All in all, a great nail place! I live about a mile away, so if you’re in the old town area, it’s super convenient and great quality! Just make sure that if you’re a member, you’re getting your member pricing! (That’s what you’re paying for, after all…)
