TK’s Urban Tavern

We had lunch here on Saturday and i was impressed! The bloody mary was delicious with a bunch of freshly grated horseradish. I ordered the tuna sandwich and loved it. The french fries were perfectly cooked, not limp. My sister ordered the pork chili verde, she loved that, and my brother in law ordered the tortilla soup and the buffalo meatballs which he liked as well. The service was a bit slow, it was busy, so the kitchen must have been backed up, and we had to wait for the coffee to be brewed. The prices are not cheap, the sandwich was 10 bucks, but it was so good! I will be back, perhaps for happy hour…

I was pleased with Urban Tavern. I used the free appetizer from Unilocal… thank you so much! We had the chips & dip which we enjoyed. Our sandwiches were very good, staff was friendly, and prices were very reasonable. We would definitely go back!

Made a reservation for my birthday dinner here last week. When we entered we were just pointed to which table we were assigned and not greeted or seated by anyone. After sitting for over 15 minutes we were still waiting for someone to approach our table. We almost went to the bar to ask for water. Realizing how absurd that was, we walked out.

I ate here while travelling on business to Scottsdale, and I thought it was great! I sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice and really helpful.
The food was really good. I had the mac and cheese and the pretzel, and they were excellent. The Mac was perfectly al dente, and the cheese was really gooey and delicious.
I’ll definitely be back.

After walking past this place decided to stop in and give it a try.
Very nice atmosphere along with being clean with a bit of a trendy feel to it in order to cater to the Scottsdale crowds. Staff was pleasant and attentive. This was worth the two stars
Had the short ribs sliders and house pizza. This fell short of expectations. Best description would be completely uneventful. Was it horrible? No. Was it good? No. It was completely forgetful and nearly bland. So much so, that I will walk past this place again without desire to return and empty emotions overall.
The short rip sliders where pretty bland and the pizza was under cooked along with lack of flavor.
The choices in the area offer better quality of food with a similar atmosphere at competitive or better pricing.

I had a delightful lunch on the patio. The staff was very pleasant and had no problem making substitutions for me. Three of the staff thanked me for coming and asked me to return.
I will do that.

Want fresh, local, and made from scratch? Come to TKs Urban Tavern! They don’t have a bad item on their menu. We’ve been coming here for over four years and no one prepare salmon better than TKs (either the salmon salad and Scottish roasted salmon). I order one of those two dishes 95% of the time. Once I ordered the braised short ribs, and they were AHHHMAZING. I don’t get them anymore because they come in a sandwich and I’m grain free now. I do appreciate that the menu indicates gluten free options. We tried the caprese salad for the first time and it might be the best I’ve ever had. They used so much basil and it was chopped up and mixed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and then spread over ripened tomatoes– yum!
The kids menu has great options too. My son loves the pizza and last night he enjoyed the grilled chicken with a side salad. A nice healthy kids option for a change!
I have to say that it does pain me to give this restaurant four stars because the food, ambience, and service are all five stars. But the prices are just too high for me to give it the full five. I get they are high because it’s all local, fresh, and made from scratch (even the ketchup, of which they have two types); but it seems out of range for the tavern, casual vibe they are going for. It’s hard to justify the entrée prices unless we are celebrating something.

Ok so the food here is absolutely phenomenal. The green chili pork appetizer is the best pork I’ve ever had (don’t tell my mom). And the beef short rib sandwich was so juicy balanced and flavorful I highly recommend it. The mule (alcoholic) was also very good. They ran out of ginger beer but went to a neighbor restaurant and got some more. Service was excellent. Manager came and checked on us. Server named Alex provided excellent service great recommendations and just service with a smile.
I absolutely recommend this place to anyone and everyone. The food was amazing, service even better, great atmosphere and I’m not kidding when I say the food was absolutely fantastic.

I enjoyed hosting a business dinner in the restaurant last night, and it was excellent. It was not busy on a Thursday night, so the noise level allowed us to talk without issue. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. I had the macaroni and cheese with bacon and it was delicious. I would go back again.

I am stuck between a 3 and a 4. Sat in bar area and the service (bartender) was great. Menu was ok, but felt like it lacked creativity. Very average. Our 2^nd time here and the food is just plain average. Salmon burger… ok (and huge). Fish tacos ok. However, both were obviously made from frozen fish. Green been side was forgettable. All in… just seems to be missing the mark for the location that it’s in. Nothing to write home about.

I was in town with a large group of colleagues and we had a group dinner here. The service was great and the food was great too. I’m a vegetarian and they had a ton of options on the menu for me which is always greatly appreciated.
If i ever find myself back in scottsdale i would definitely come back!

Excellent food and great service. The servers are always very professional and friendly. The manager is caring and makes a point to keep things comfortable for everyone. The chipotle shrimp is always good. Everything on the menu is great.

This place is really good, I just hate parking at the Quarter.
The service is usually good I don’t think we’ve ever had an issue. I don’t really like how they put arugula on all of their burgers but I do like that I can add an egg and bacon if I want to. Every meal I’ve had here has been delicious, the beer is always ice cold and if you have an issue they always take care of it.
Great patio for people watching, too.

Thanks Unilocal for the free appetizer! That was a pleasant surprise. My Urban Tavern experience was overall pretty good, I think it was my second time here. Was pretty empty when we went at 5 on a Saturday, but it got more crowded. One plus side was there is happy hour every day of the week! Seemed to be a pretty good one too.
Service was good, we had two servers, one was being trained and they both did a great job. The menu had a good variety, but not like a ton of options. We got a pretzel and cheese as our free appetizer. I didn’t have any but I heard that it was really tasty. For my meal I ordered the Tri color quinoa salad. I was a little concerned because I had recently had a bad quinoa salad experience at another restaurant, but this salad was delicious! Only complaint was that the salad was a little small. My mom got the crispy chickpea salad, and I thought it was too lemony, but she liked it. My sister loved her blackened ceasar salad wrap! Everyone else liked their food as well. Was a good experience!

Love TK’s! Happy Hour is really reasonably priced, with some fun food offerings and $ 2 off draft beer. I tried the short rib sliders and the house guacamole, both were fantastic. The service was great… would recommend Dominique any day. Right around the corner from the office so I’ll be bringing coworkers and/​or clients next time.

Great service. Food below average. Stopped in for happy hour. House red wine was large poor but not good wine. Husband had a really strong good margarita. We ordered the Short Rib Sliders — no flavor, and a Margarita Pizza– the worst I’ve ever had!

Happy Hour is awesome! (Mon-​Fri 3−6pm)
To be fair I came here more than a year ago, my first time inside by the bar and my second was outside on the patio. However, I do remember having a good time and being impressed with their Happy Hour offerings.
My husband and I each had a few draft beers and a couple of appetizers. One of which was the mini Margherita Pizza which was really good! My husband had the mini BBQ Chicken Pizza, he loved it but it was a bit spicy for my liking so beware.
The staff were great both times, ambiance was cool (keep in mind we didn’t eat in the regular restaurant area or during dinner rush), overall, I had a pretty great experience both times! I just wish I didn’t live in Texas so I could go back!
4 Stars only because I can’t remember everything about my visit, I’ll update when I go back!

I visited this restaurant on a very busy Monday night. However, there was no wait to be seated and my sister and I were placed at a great spot on the patio. It was quite nice to relax and enjoy dinner outside with a great ambiance.
We started off with an order of the chips and guac and they were both delicious. The chips are a little thicker than your average chip but it was a great size to hold the guac.
We then ordered the Margherita Pizza and asked them to add chicken. Gotta have some protein right? The pizza was delicious but the amount of chicken was quite minimal (hence the 4 stars) only leaving me wishing I had more chicken and less pizza.
Overall this place was really good and they had quite a variety of options. Give it a try… I think you will love it!

Came here for a late lunch. It was nice to sit outside and people watch. Beautiful shopping center.
We got a panini and a sandwich. The panini was great! It has chicken, pesto, tomato, cheese, onions. Loved it!
The fries and homemade ketchup were great too!
We were very happy with the food. Would go back!

Very chill neighborhood bar/​restaurant. Nothing is bad on the menu, but the great is the green chili pork with freshly grilled flour tortillas. Angus burger and blt with eggs are top notch. Wood fired pizza and house made Mac and cheese. I’ve had pretty much everything on the menu and I always leave happy. If there is one negative it’s the house made ketchup that I find to be gross. They do have regular, so it’s not a big deal.
