nice outside seating, i’d call it a «PARTYPATIO» but the regular customers are way too old to «PARTY» let alone party enough to make a normal patio a «PARTYPATIO» but the food is very good. American/Italian items. Portions are big too

Jilly’s is your typical ‘American’ restaurant with 50’s/Rat Pack them going on. Apparently they used to hang out there back in the day… I got a weird vibe from this place when we pulled up and their ‘Restaurant’ sign outside was broken… ok we’ll let that slide… when we walked in the front door, we actually walked into the bar and were directed to the dining room in the back… the entrances of this place are not clearly marked(i.e. Bar or Restaurant) — not the biggest deal but still annoying. The bartender was nice enough to sit us in the dining area and called a waitress over for us. Since it was a little early the dining side was empty, but the bar was packed(after work crowd). The décor is basically just b&w pics os the Rat Pack and 50’s movie stars. It has been modernized somewhat and as far as I can see it was a clean place. The walls were a dreary light blue and black color. It DOESNOT match the cheap stock photos on their website ATALL! As for the menu the offer American/Italian dishes primarily… a good selection of soups, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, steaks, seafood, veggies. etc… There’s definitely something on this menu for everyone. they didn’t have a wine list but had a decently stocked wine rack towards the back of the dining area. Our waitress was polite and the service was what you’d expect… good and professional but nothing over the top. The menus given to us were pretty beat up and stained. Also, I thought it was odd that we ordered 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio at the table and they were served in red wine glasses(2 different ones at that!) We tried the calamari appetizer… let’s say that you could get better at a chain restaurant… small pieces that weren’t all that tasty and a blandish tomato sauce. Our salads were a good size and have a decent mix for ‘house salads’ — meaning at least 6 – 7 different ingredients… I hate it when places have some iceberg lettuce and a tomato and call it a salad! I ordered the Mixed Grill Calabraise and the others ordered Prime Ribs. WOW! Huge portions. The Calabraise was chicken, sausage, and veal with veggies… it was ok, but not anything amazing. The ribs were huge!!! Whatever sauce they used was a little too salty. The huge potions and the big selection are probably the biggest draw to this place. And if you like old pics of Frank Sinatra, that too. I found the people working there to be polite, but cold. They really gave off a weird vibe there. The men’s room is situated in the back of the bar… and there is no privacy wall there… so when you open the men’s room door BAM! The whole bar can see you… that was odd too. I’d be reluctant to go back but it’s not a bad place… just not my scene. Lot’s of older folks there and the quality of the dishes is not any better than any other place. TIP: If you’re a guy and need to pee there, make sure you lock the door. That is unless you like to pee in front of a packed bar. TIP: Reservations are def recommended.
